I think the sound is perfect especially when you consider what happens when Black Flash appears. It's said that Black Flash causes a spacial and temporal distortion to the are around and I think this sound perfectly incapsulates that effect
0:22 the rumble , the scream , The impact , The everything . This really sounds like Yuji is putting everything into this black flash . I seriously can’t get over how great this is
Let us also not forget that this, and this one in fact, was the only 100% cursed energy black flash we have seen so far, and also Mahito implied that imbuing 100% of cursed energy for a black flash is almost impossible
I'm seeing a lot of comments saying that the bass/futuristic sound of the attack is robotic and doesn't sound raw - So yes, I can understand wanting a punch to sound like a strong punch, but this isn't /just/ a strong punch. You can literally see black lightning shooting out in every direction, red energy spiking with ground breaking amounts of force. Also, considering the music, date, and types of attacks that occur within the series, an electric/robotic sound design is more than acceptable - In fact, looking at Gojo's theme it's practically almost dubstep with how much synthesized sound there is. TL;DR, it sounds good and fits the series, and it releases the endorphins in my brain. Good work sleep
damn you really came a long way, even your sfx redesigns years ago were good but this is just perfection and im serious rell seas would love to have someone like you for some sound designs in their game, and they can pay you big for it as well
Spectacular re-sound! Love how the electricity has a softened, chorus filter feel to it. The higher frequencies are still there to add sharpness, but it's not overpowering noise across the board. The risers and tasteful application of clipping compliment this scene really well too. I've got a lot to learn.
the black flash is inspired by the -boxing lobster(i think thats the name)- mantis shrimp effect when it punches the water around boils. so this is a good redesign.
I think it was pistol shrimp, it uses it's claw like a pistol (Pretty sure that is how it got its name). And for a brief moment, when the pistol shrimp shoots, the water around it can reach up to 4000 degrees Celsius. I'm guessing the prey get stunned by this rapid change in temperature. Edit: after searching up about the mantis shrimp, yeah. I was wrong.

What is funnier is that mantis shrimp smasher's punch produces two impacts (similar to that of divergent fist but the sub-impact is before the actual impact) just like divergent fist
Sound effects remind me a lot of David Productions. Especially the build up before the punch kinda (by kinda I mean just a lil bit) reminded me of Golden Experience Requiem's punch before it beatdown Diavolo. And the bass is just pure eargasm. 10/10
Im ngl I like this more than the original, it’s like fire force level sound effects, and the distorted sound makes sense because black flash distorts space when it’s used which is why its so strong along with increasing attacks to the power of 2.5, not x2.5 but it would to the power of 2.5 which is hella strong and the bass just sounds cool
They need to remake the scene and use this on the Blu-Ray, that was so fucking good lol. The distortion on Yuji’s voice as the impact built up was unbelievable and made that scream he let out as he blew Mahito away SO much more impactful.
@@elipouwels5844 Some do! Even when you stream in 4k, you'll be viewing a compressed image if you're streaming it online, which can reduce quality some. BluRay still offers a higher quality image (and possibly audio, though I know less about that) than most-all streaming platforms.
This is amazing! I also like how to make the fx work you shortened up the bits of Itadori searing with anger since that didn't make much sense considering you need to be in complete calm focus for black flash to land which we can see in episode 19. Only wish that wasn't there to begin with but that's Mappa's mistake. 10/10 work man
I think i prefer the og one. black flash is almost an impossiblity, and i think the shattering effect captuures it the best. it kinda reminds me of a sonic boom, a reaction by reality when it's limits are being tested.
Sounds more like a laser beam being shot from a gundam, I mean think about it, a black flash punch it would sound more flat and hear some sorta air compression, anime does it just fine. Maybe just record sounds from a piece of buthered chicken being punched hard in the boney area or a piece of steak and tweak the sound a bit, more flatness, quick sharpness to it.
