I really appreciate you state when there's Product Placement or ads involved in your videos rather than just trying to play it off. Great job Jamie! Looks delicious
He says it himself. Cake makes people smile. I love his healthy recipes but so do I enjoy learning about baking cakes. In my case I wouldn't eat that cake, but im planning to do this one for my family on christmas eve.
How much do we love Jamie Oliver? Talented to the extreme, happy, a fabulous family man, and one of the hardest working men I've heard of, all this from a very young age. You deserve all good things, Mr. Oliver!
Lol eggs have some things that is bad for health when it's not cooked. It's serves as the emulsifying agent. There are without raw egg cookie dough recipw
I work with a bunch of guys, and we move boxes/freight every night. I'm the tiny older lady on the team, but I'm a good baker, and this is going to be our week's treat. Thanks to the master, Jamie O.
omg you just made my day everybody's life needs cheesecake 😂 really like the videos with Jamie in keep up the good work excited for some Christmas food🎄xx
Great recipe and a nice touch to the well-known cheesecake. I'll definitely give this one a try! You're such a great inspiration Jamie, it's because of you I signed up for culinary school at my university in Serbia, much love and take care mate!
+Georgia A But I think it's bakeable because it contains eggs. The eggs will react to the heat and make the cheesecakes baked, no? Or add some flour so it becomes a regular batter of cheesecake.
Emil Ussing When a chef is giving a recipe, I follow the steps as given, because he is already tasted it! Usually, I change something that I've tasted and I didn't like! I don't know if my thinking is right or not....but for this recipe there is no need for baking!
+Jamie Oliver yeah you really should! or maybe I shouldn't be up so late (or early?) that day! haha! love you Jamie, hugs all the way from the warm Indonesia. come here sometimes ;)
Hey Jamie, I just love this recipe of yours! It is really easy to make, that's what makes it great. But... I cant simply use raw eggs, because I buy my eggs and I can't take a risk of getting salmonella. :/ Can I make this without eggs? And also, what kind of cyrup do you use to soak in the cherries?
+BronxCPH Not for everyone. If you have immune issues, if you're making this for children or the elderly, or just don't want to risk it, just get yourself some pasteurized eggs. I get where you're coming from but saying that they're perfectly safe isn't accurate except for the UK where the hens are already pasteurized.
+downunder diva actually the yolks get cooked enough when you wisk them with the sugar. the sugar gets sligthy warm enugh to cook those yolks. so you wont get salmonella :)
U rock jamie! Love u🌸but i have a little qs here, dont u think it aint safe to consume raw eggs without heat treatment?? Salmonella and friends are hanging around in that raw eggs mixture or do u actually use freezing method to kill that bacteria or deactivate it?! But this means this cake has a very short shelf life and it should be chilled the whole time am i right?!
+Alia,S Jamie has used good quality, free-range fresh whole eggs to make this beauty. It's the classic way of making desserts such as cheesecake, meringue or chocolate mousse. It is recommended that babies, pregnant ladies or the elderly who may have a weakened immune system should not eat raw eggs - so do take care. If you are worried about using fresh raw eggs then you can use pasteurised whole egg as an alternative, but this may tweak the method slightly. You can grab yourself a carton of pasteurised whole free-range eggs in several large supermarkets! Hope this helps. Give us a shout if you need any more info. Do keep this cake well chilled when it is not being consumed!
+Jamie Oliver awesome, thanks but isnt baking this cheese cake and then freezing it is a better method health safety wise esp knowing that ill be feeding a pregnant and elderlies?
+Alia,S I don't think you can bake this cheese cake. It will turn into a sticky, solid mess. You can buy pasteurized eggs or egg cartons as mentioned above, and those are perfectly suitable for anyone to eat. I mean, you *can* bake it but the whole point of this recipe with the separated egg yolks and whites is to put a lot of air into the mixture to keep it fluffy instead of dense, which will be sort of useless if you're going to bake it.
+Alia,S You can't bake a cheesecake like this! The only fancy thing you could do is to lower the eggs in a sous-vide bath and cook them for a very long time on a specific temperature and then use them. But not everybody has a sousvide device. The call it pasteurizing eggs!
This costs 50 bucks to make!!! I may as well by 10 from the super market and drizzle it in fancy asf chocolate and I'll still have money to feed a small village.. Looks great though. Keep up the awesome work, Jamie. Love yah.
Hi Jamie , i am from New Zealand and I absolutely love your food channel , love your recipe they are easy fast to cook .... Looking forward for some more videos
I looovedddd this recipe, I will try it asap!, thank you very much for sharing it...and btw, I can't understand why so many people ( mainly english speaking countries -as I have seen) have so many issues with eating raw eggs (in a preparation, of course)...I dont see anything wrong with that, in fact I always make my own mayo...may be it's because I am from another country and culture, though...
Hi Jamie, you are awesome! At school when I was little we used to be given peppermint slice and I wish I knew how to make it! It was like a millionaires but peppermint.....
I love it, but i would probably make a paté a bombe with a 118° syrup to avoid problems with the raw eggs. I´ll definitely do it this weekend! U rock, love u from Argentina
Aww, come on: First off; it is a cake. Second; it has layers. Third; it uses the flavor combination of chocolate and cherry. Fourth; the cream cheese is dairy
First of all, it's a cheesecake not any kind of cake and because there is no "classic" recipe for blackforest cheesecake, unlike it's cake version, the addition of the classic cherries and chocolate is what make this a black forest cheesecake.
***** Agreed! It is either a cheesecake or a black forest cake. But however i gotta get to my kitchen and make a frozen black forest - red velvet- peanut butter - oreo - salted caramel - chocolate lava - rainbow -cheesecake topped with smores and tiny sugar cookies, which look like the instagram app ! Peace out

but seriously, there are no better cream cheese out there. when people are talking about cream cheese, they're talking about Philadelphia. ask any cheesecake maker in NY, and they'll tell you to only use philly.
+Noor AlShihaby Also, there are sooo many things that have raw egg in them when it is homemade: mayonnaise, mousse au chocolat, tiramisu, some ice creams. my grandma always puts raw eggs into her rice pudding and it is the best one I have eaten yet. I bet with you, that you have eaten something in a restaurant that contained raw eggs without knowing. Most of the samonella sits on the eggshell anyway, so raw eggs themselves are quite safe for eating. Just wash your hands before you pick out the yolks. And of course: don't refreeze the cake once it's gone soft again
That was awesome taste..... Chef ,i have my chilled passion fruit cheese cream and really Oh so good taste. Thank you chef for sharing your wonderful recipe. Chef hope you can watch my channel too..
+Aleksandra Petrova Yes, in Britain they have safe eggs. If you want you can put the egg yolks in a double boiler for about 5 to 10 minutes and they will be good to go. You can do the same with the egg whites, but the bacteria (if there's any), most of th time, is in the egg yolks

Damn see this is why cheesecakes will forever be my all time favourite dessert! If I didn't already have one in the fridge I'd totally make this right now!

those chocolaty digestives are so good on their own, i love those! but for some reason they seemed like jaffa cakes to me before you mentioned what they were. i said ok, jaffa cakes, no butter, that would be delicious, but this is good aswell
+Cyber Dan There are so many classic dessert recipes, that contain raw eggs...It is really not that special. Of course you can digest it. But you shouldn't eat the whole cake though ;D
Cyber Dan Yeah true, I've got a Philadelphia cheesecake recipe that's cream cheese, 1 can of condensed milk and some lemon and that makes a very nice unbaked cheesecake :)
