I love how Gabriel’s stories about times he was dumb. Here, he’s talking about his own mistakes interacting with Cubans. And he’s always treating Cubans with respect. I’ve seen him talk about going to Saudi Arabia, and again makes it all about him accidentally insulting Saudi Arabians, then he figures out what they’re really like, and ends with nothing but respect for them.

Fluffy is like a funny Mexican version of a traditional travelling poet. He is, first and foremost, a storyteller, and many of his tales contain truths about people, culture, the human condition. He doesn't sit on a stool, or stand rooted to the spot like a tree. He physically manifests his stories with voice changes, sound effects, and movement. He has a great talent for taking something culturally specific and telling the story in such a way that people from that culture enjoy it and people from outside that culture can relate to it. I've never been to the US but he creates such wonderful pictures that I feel like I know who he's talking about. His ability to liken one culture to another really helps me there. The descriptions in this story had me automatically thinking about different Māori iwi (tribes) here in NZ. I have no idea if Gabriel has ever been to New Zealand or met a Māori, but this story translated so well that I could laugh with it and I would imagine pretty much any Māori would too. I can also apply this story to Polynesians in general. Māori, Samoans, Tongans, Niueans, Hawaiians, Cook Island Māori, Tahitian Mā'ohi, Marquesans, we're all Polynesian but we're all quite different. This skill is what makes Fluffy stand out for me.

A great example of what you’re talking about re multiple colors: the episode of Sanford and Son where Fred , his son Lamont and his Puerto Rican friend go to a Spanish restaurant. In the Netherlands they distinguish between stand up comedy and the story telling kind of comedy (caberatier). The story telling type of comedy sometimes even has simple sets. The US has more standup comedy bc the story telling type is usually told via a TV show

I was in high school in Florida for a few months in 1990, and my friends were from all different Latin countries. One day, a friend was trying to describe how she was trying to get soap out of her eyes, but because we all spoke a different dialect, we were all so confused about what she was using.😂 Once we figured it out, we just laughed at each other's words for the faucet!

We had a drill instructor when I was in Marine Corps boot camp from another platoon he was not man was dark purple. Her was outside of the chow hall at 4 am we didn’t see him standing there. We got in line we didn’t see him until he opened his eyes and his eyes and teeth were all most the only thing we saw when he started yelling. Then the next thing we noticed were his arms. His uniform had to be special ordered because his biceps looked bigger than my waist 😧😧🙀

One thing that I have noticed about Nigerians is "perfectly shaped heads". Dude, you can test this out with your family members: Look at photos of your brothers, sisters, cousins, aunts and uncles and grandparents. If you were to imagine them all with their heads shaved, Nigerians have perfectly shaped heads. Not big, not to long not too round not too anything. And the hairlines are at the perfect place on the forehead (when they haven't started balding). If a Black person has a big forehead, you know they aren't Nigerian. I'm a graphic designer and a photographer so I am used to seeing the world in terms of shapes, textures and colors. I had the occasion of photographing a Nigerian doctor and his family for an ad for his business (In Southwestern America.) I started to notice that they all had perfectly shaped heads. So, when I got home, I Google Imaged Nigerian people and everyone in the searched photos had perfectly shaped heads. No extensions that started half way back from the forehead. No heads that looked like they had been stretched from front to back. perfectly shaped heads and no bulbous foreheads. One thing for sure, if you go bald as an old man, you can shave your head and look better than Micheal Jordan. Almost all Nigerians can. Image search for Nigerian People if you don't believe me. You will be hard pressed to find a bad looking head.

100% Gabriel is a storyteller first and comedian second. The closest in style I can think of are Martin Lawrence, John Leguizamo, and believe it or not, Ron White. Anybody else have favorite storyteller comedians?

I think it's that way with all races. My wife is pasty white brown hair, golden eyes, her sister has olive skin and dark hair. I'm white, but with more color than my wife, but blue eyes, blonde hair, and a red beard. My first 2 kids have brown hair and golden and hazel eyes. One has my skin, the other is more olive. Our baby is blonde hair and blue eyes. They also have a first cousin that is Latino. He looks like my kids with dark black hair. They also have cousins that are half black. They have the beautiful blonde curly hair, but it's like the texture of black hair. The kids are so close, but look so different. Absolutely beautiful!

Many latino countries drink expresso coffe, a shot of strong bitter hot coffe to wake you up right way. I am portuguese, and we mostly drink expressos to, so i really don't like the cups of watered down coffe that americans drink either. I drink a coffe after breakfest or in middle of the morning, another after lunch, maybe one after dinner if i'm not going to bed yet. Americans drink they're coffe slower so it's less strong in a bigger cup (usually, it's more sweet either with more sugar than us, or with cream that we don't use). It's a difference of cultures. I like those differences, problem is, my country still knows hoe to make watery coffe, america does not know how to make a good expresso, cuz the flavor gets lost, either you know good coffe or it's not gonna be a good expresso xD
