I always think of black metal as a genre with great melodies which get "dirty" with an enormous distortion, a bass that follows the guitars and makes its tone deeper, and fast loud drums. A mix of pure beauty and pure chaos, such a particular genre...
These are actually very beautiful melodies but other people hear black metal as "rubbish" or "noise". I'm so sad that others can not hear what I hear in these. Thanks, great video!
i don't like the drum beat in most of black metal songs i like black metal songs like Ulver - Capitel I or Burzum - Dunkelheit in these songs they don't play that drum beat but in Ulver - Capitel II after flute part they use the drum beat i am talking about.
@@assasinpatates8066 Most of the times, I like drums a lot in Black Metal. I don't like Dunkelheit for example, it has a beautiful riff also but it feels like they tried to suffocate the rithym with noise. Good amount of distortion serves well but if it's too much, it doesn't sound good.
Supposedly, that's how Darkthrone writes all their songs first, before goignto electric. Fenriz is often quoted as saying "If it soudns good on acoustic, then it'll sound great on electric.' or "If it sounds great on acoustic, then it's good enough for Darkthrone."
This was beautiful. Hands down beautiful. Too anyone who doesnt get or like metal. Listen to this. This is metal. This is what metal is. Just different instrument.
@@Nick_Har I love both acoustic and electric…. Both have unique qualities and can give a good whole other vibe and can make show a song in a different light…
This is Armageddon, classical style🤘. Very pure and simplistic, you've captured the true tone of Nordic Black Metal and made it readily available to a public who otherwise can't appreciate the dark beauty within the notes of the music. Well done, Sir👏👏👏. Take care.
As a guitsrist myself I rarely see guitar videos like this so this has got to be one of the best guitar videos in history of RU-vid. Black metal flamengo anyone and yes it's October of the year 2021. \m/
Always said to my non-metal friends that they'd be pretty surprised by the melody of BM if they could only hear past the distortion! My personal fav for an acoustic rendition would be the end of Key To The Gate by Burzum. Absolutely beautiful melodies in that song.
You literally give black metal a new meaning Every time i listen to your acoustic covers of black metal songs it makes me realize two things: 1. How beautiful the melodies are 2. What a great guitarist you are Thanks a lot for the eargasm
Haha you got me there! Paused the video, googled for Kyteler - Do Not Pray, listened to the song, came back and finally realized it is your band. Really nice video! I'm not too much into that kind of black metal anymore as I tend to need a decent production nowadays to really enjoy it, but presented like this it's beautiful. And I think I will revisit Winterfylleth in the next days.
Great stuff Simon. I've only got an acoustic guitar with me since I'm working in Norway for some months and I've been doing the same. A lot of black metal tunes sound great on acoustic
Great songs i checked them all out, i defintely liked Burzum, the mood of black metal is great, and this genre is a great addition to my taste i like it!
Damn, nice to see Sola Fide I getting some recognition. Really I think that riff is among the best in all black metal, especially the way it's utilized at the moment it is, the way it is in the song. Really spine-tingling.
@@zeruelagameplays haha, I can relate actually. I'm a grizzled veteran of black metal now, but when I was first exposed to it I hated it, and thought I'd never enjoy it. Arcturus and Enslaved were the bands that opened the flood gate for me.
