Well it's understandable, as the aesthetic is distorted and involves a lot of noise.. So the composition kinda gets buried into that sound in many cases.

@@otgv hmmm idk. i don't really think the composition gets burried that often (ofcourse sometimes it does) but i think you really have to want to listen to this stuff to actually hear the beautiful compositions. The distortion, noise and overall imagery of black metal scares off a big part of the people i think. It's kinda like you have to listen through the distortion to really catch the beauty of it, and most people immediatly dislike it if they hear the distortion. And talking about this topic i really would recommend the song: Woods of desolation - the inevitable end
