Black Rifle Coffee vs Starbucks (Coffee Expert Decides) 

Thanks to Sakrid Coffee Roasters. This video was a blast and the results shocked me... Let me know if you guess which Coffee would win. Starbucks VS Black Rifle.

I wish I could believe this was an actual blind test. Just can't get there.

Coffee is coffee but BRCC supports vets more so than starbucks

A few things. 1. To use the companies you did, Starbucks and BRCC, they both have a ton of different roasts so to judge a company based on one out of like 15 just isn’t fair. You also used quite possibly the worst from both in my humble opinion. 2. This didn’t come across as unbiased for one second. Not saying that was the case, but just giving feedback. 3. Coffee, like everything else, is subjective. I love darker and “heavier” coffees. My gf likes lighter. Neither is wrong. People like what they like. Idk man…the tone of this video just wasn’t it for me. Good quality though and will definitely check out some of your other stuff.

I personally love BRCC, best tasting coffee to me. I would recommend that you might try to come across more neutral next time(?). I really got the impression right near the beginning that you (and your team?) had a clear bias (although not sure which way). I'm not a video creator, but maybe more neutrality if you're comparing products? But yes Starbucks will do in a pinch, BRCC is my favourite, and your local place is really good as well.

It would be nice to see the grind size of what it was ground at. And the temp of the water.

Not a fair comparison is you boiled to the same temperature as they are different coloured roasts. Also the same with the grind. I hope BRC was more corse and 80-85° before pouring

Lemon grass? Who tf wants lemon grass in their coffee? Jasmine? 😂 I bet he eats soy. I actually like the smoky/ashyness of the Just Black. But then again I also love peated whiskeys so I may have an inclination towards the smokeyness.

I really like dark "charcoal", for lack of a better term, coffee. I'm not a huge coffee head but when people say oh no the coffee is burnt I enjoy it.

It just depends on the one I'm not a big fan of just black but coffee saves roast and ak 47 espresso are actually good the hazelnut one is good too

myself being a veteran i was like alright let me support them and i tried their silencer coffee and i thought it was an odd taste, i wanted to like it but i couldn't stomach another cup of it, i ended up donating the bag to a friend who also thought it was not very good. honestly the green mountain brand tasted better but i stick to local like coffee box or other local gems. until Starbucks brings back pistachio latte for the season.

I feel like the freedom blend would have been a more fair comparison. The JB is one of my least favorites from BRCC lol

Coffee is subjective like everything else. I’m relatively new to coffee and I love Black Rifle granted they have such a variety of roasts and flavors that you just have to find the flavors for you. With that said I’d love to try another brand of coffee, any recommendations preferably smaller companies or subscription based ones

Beyond black is hands down my favourite

The one you guys got was a commercial mass produced version of their coffee. They have a specialty club where they do very limited runs of that roasting and some of the newest coffees they have are ones born out of that club.

Try SOG from black rifle really good. Also black beard is another great one.

The bag you had was the just black which is dark roast.

I love Black Rifle Coffee Co I used to be a Folgers guy, after trying a can, and cup of that liquid freedom I never went back. I like all of their roasts, I like variety in my coffee, plain black is my go to in a time stamp. I’ve tried Starbucks, and personally I think it’s overrated it’s ok, but I could make the same thing at home cheaper, and way better.

It's hard to find an honest review on this coffee. Those that love it seem to only like it for the "conservative" values of the company and the ultra alpha macho gun toting branding. Those that dislike this coffee tend to dislike it for the same reasons. I think many who like BRCC don't know much about coffee and brewing culture and it shows because most of the favorable reviews come from channels in the hunting and shooting genre. I noticed a girl that works at the shooting range was wearing a BRCC t-shirt and asked her how is the coffee. From what she told me she loves it and "is better than Starbucks" and she mainly brewed from a Kiureg and drank it with french vanilla cream. Also one of the reviewers here on RU-vid admitted that they would continue drinking it even if it tasted bad and loved the company because of its support of veterans. Your results don't surprise me because BRCC uses Robusto/Arabica blends and is the main reason I haven't tried it also $17 for 12oz bag is a factor.

Black rifle is all we drink in this house. We both love the amazing flavors!! I've never tasted gas flavor in mine. But to each is own. This is a tricky advert for Sakred coffee. And it's not a political themed brand. It's veteran owned and we're absolutely gonna support that. They have amazing coffee! This video is completely biased.

Problem is the political divide with black rifle. Both sides will vote based on political views ... smart on their end though they get roughly 50% of people to support them

It's a shame that quality, checked out when they went public. 3 years ago, BRC had, next level coffee. I went a year and a half without it. After tasting it, was compelled to find out what changed. Cause it ain't the same.

I'm 2 minutes in and wondering how this can be a reputable review worth an S. Doesn't know the history or mission of Black Rifle and doesn't know the traditional Starbucks coffee. WTF?! "Probably means it's over cooked" but he really doesn't know and is judging it based on comparison to his own coffee. And such a great review biased from the start. I spoke to Mr. Howard Behar a few months ago, the former President and CEO of Starbucks International and got his take on not only coffee but coffee customers. And, I'm a veteran who is a Black Rifle Coffee monthly coffee subscriber and I own shares in their stock. I will gladly pay extra for a cup (or bag) of Black Rifle over anything Starbucks or local roaster because of the taste, variety, and their mission. Black Rifle is waaaayy more than a veteran supporter so those of us that understand and are a part of their mission understand. They are changing the way coffee and beverages are marketed and why. In 5 years, doubters will be shocked. Thanks for the coffee review and thanks for not joining the military and the government. Oh, and I'll take Starbucks over local roasters most of the time because of their focus on the employees.

You should have tried other black rifle flavors. I love their coffee and honestly think it’s miles better than the Starbucks roasts I’ve tried. Black rifle has lots of options you must have just not got a great flavor one

Stumbled upon this, Neat video, but I find it funny at the end the comparison was made between Wagyu and McDonalds. If we're being honest that is kind of what you guys did... one could argue that Geisha Roasts are the wagyu of the coffee world while flagship roasts from Starbucks and Black Rifle probably more align with McDonalds.... well Starbucks at least!! Full disclosure, I am a BRCC fan... would be cool if you took one of their more exclusive roasts to your coffee expert friend for a comparison. Black Rifle will sometimes even have their own Geisha Roasts.

Its the overdramatic description of the BRCC for me. I think that you were making an advertisement for your friend's coffee instead of making a comparison. I know many people that drink BRCC and the JB to be specific and each describes it as being an excellent, smooth coffee. Each of these people (while actually never drinking any) knows the difference between coffee and gasoline. In the interest of doing quality, non-satirical youtube videos, you should have actually given credibility to your review and not just a sales pitch.

The slightest bit of research will tell you that a better comparison to the in-house artesian coffee from Sakrid would’ve been the Brcc ak47 which has many different tones and flavors like chocolate notes, citrus notes, and a nutty aftertaste. Not “JUST BLACK” that tastes “just dark”. No shit, ITS CALLED JUST BLACK! “Regular medium roast” from Starbucks isn’t a fair comparison when you add sakrid into the mix either but when I look at your archetype I understand why you’d like starbucks better. At least your female friend was being unbiased. I don’t even like Starbucks as a company as they’ve openly said they’d hire “undocumented workers” before they’d hire my black ass yet here I am defending them when I love local businesses. My roommates are hardcore liberals and had some of my left over coffee from BRC the JB whole beans I ground up and brewed. They then informed me that they got a subscription on Amazon for it and I told them they are paying way to much and go threw my brother in law that works there! I found it great because of their political views and that they are very picky with what they buy. Organic everything! Haha! Love it! To each their own on views though!

Black rifle are con men/chancers/scammers/marketeers only. Not being funny but military personnel must regularly drink terrible coffee so the endorsement of soldiers is hardly resounding.
