I think I have had the Dunkin coffee before and I do believe that I really hated the taste of that coffee. I do agree when saying that I would not recommend that coffee.
I still enjoy the occasional sip of motor oil. Not on purpose, I must say. It's a consequence of the complete lack of safety precautions when tinkering with my car
I question your expertise in coffee because it seems like you guys are unaware that even bad coffee can be made to taste good but it requires a different brewing method and/or mix than what you would consider standard. I've had 3 different coffee brands I disliked and I could have been a drama queen about it and thrown them all out after the 1st cup but through experimentation I learned I could make them all taste OK. Some require less grounds, some less heat, some no sugar (at all) and some only taste good with a creamer. I understand some coffees are intrinsically better but my point is- its too soon to judge it on only 1 cup. Next time consider making it multiple different ways and finding out which one tastes the best to you before scoring it.
You are absolutely correct! For sure it is possible to take a bad coffee and mess with it to the point of making is palatable. You could do that with anything. I like your positive attitude and perseverance!
no these guys are totally pretentious. Neither one of those coffees are THAT bad.. I've had $300 cups of coffee and while folgers doesnt hold a candle to that caliber of coffee, it's not supposed to.... Folgers is actually very good and if these guys took the time that they spent complaining and used it to try different methods of preparing it and brewing it they would see that it can actually be quite a delicious coffee.. Sheesh. These dudes remind me of the college stoners that only smoke "The best" weed from california..yikes. its coffee for crying out loud. Drink it.
I have tried 100s of coffees and have found that nothing beats the Starbucks Pike Place or Chock Full of Nuts Original Roast. Can't have anything but at my house.
I've never seen a Folgers coffee can that wasn't kept in the freezer. Generally the flavor is nuked by the cold and the cheep Mr. Coffee coffee maker. When served piping hot and weak it is the classic, flavorless breakroom coffee. Fascinating stuff to see what happens when you try and get the flavor out of it! Keep up the good work, and next time freeze and drip it like it deserves.
Eh, your premise is flawed from the start. I drink Folgers most days because, well, I don't have a Starbucks in my kitchen. If I did, I'm sure I'd use it sometimes. Comparing coffee yo make at home vs Starbucks could be valuable, but you approach it by starting with a Starbucks flavor you already hate (subjective, I might add), and comparing Folgers to that. Whatever. Most people drink Folgers because they can make it easily in the morning and not get up half-an-hour early to drive to fucking Starbucks to pay $4 for a cup of coffee.
You’re trying way too hard. Thanks for the laugh tho. This is one of the most contrived review videos I’ve ever seen on RU-vid. I don’t doubt both coffees suck but do do you guys.
I am not an expert but I have drunk a lot of different types of coffee Big brand coffee Specialty coffee Fresh coffee Imported coffee Coffee that has been in the cupboard of all kinds of coffee for years the rarest has been a Thai coffee By the way it was incredible and the coffee folgers is not that bad in my house there is always a can of folgers obviously not the best coffee but I don't think it's the worst either Not everything has to be so complex, sometimes it's just sitting down and having a coffee without fuss or thinking too much. It's just my opinion, good video.
I drink Folgers the French toast one Midroast using machine and it's taste amazing ! Of course there are a lot of better coffee brands out there, but undrinkable?! But thanks for the video new info I've learnt.
I room Temp brew My coffee in French Presses. Espresso cup measure then fill halfway with water then start the brewing process with a milk frother. Then fill the carafe to the top of the metal band. Stir with a plastic slotted spoon. Let steep for 12 hours. Press first then use another press to pull the filter up. No Grounds. I heat in microwave with a pyrex measure.
My girlfriend and I are hysterically laughing at this video because we are Folgers lovers…. That being said I think it’s time we try something else only coffee we have gotten is Folgers lmao…
To be fair Folgers use the cheapest beans possible, Robusta for sure. Higher caffeine, worse flavor. I’m not a fan of Pikes Place or Starbucks roasts, but at least it’s Arabica beans. All that being said, Folgers is terrible and no offense to those who drink it but you deserve better folks! WB your sacrifice doesn’t go unnoticed, those sips looked like trauma 😂
Wrong Starbucks Is Terrible Cause It’s Too Strong And Folgers Is Rich And Smooth Do Your Research On The History Of Folgers Like Virginia Christine The Folgers Coffee Lady
Try brewing Folgers in a classic coffee Brewer it really brings out the rich flavor I've had drank many coffees brands and no coffee can beat the rich taste of Folgers brewed in a old fashioned coffee Brewer
@@SouthernRebels94 I respect that! Do you mean a regular drip-brewer? Perculator? The important part is that you enjoy your coffee and get it brewing the way you like. Thanks for the comment
you guys need to try folgers as a cowboy coffee or something. the cowboy food guy on youtube is acting like folgers in cowboy coffee is "liquid gold". the stuff seems to have somewhat of a cult following too. thanks reviewing trash coffee so i dont need to try it for fun
@@WholeBrainCoffee that's right lol. i honestly doubt it tastes good. but who knows maybe the process of boiling it hard for 10 or so mins makes it taste tolerable? just be careful anytime coffee enthusiasts criticize Folgers they're met with waves of hate and vitriol.
@@efafe4972 boiling folgers for 10 minutes sounds like it will be... interesting. And it's ok, we are quite used to the hate and vitriol. It increases our power
@@efafe4972when you cook Folgers properly by using a stove top brewer or a campfire brewer it gives the Folgers a Rich, nutty, creamy texture if cooked right. Electric Coffee pots you'll find in basically every home tends to cook Folgers to fast which ends up burning the coffee and destroy it's natural flavors. Remember Folgers was the first coffee brand to come out in America and it was designed to be cooked in a coffee Brewer the went over a fireplace, campire or a wood stove.
Just subscribed. I grew up with my dad always drinking Folgers. So, naturally as I got older, that is what I started drinking. However, black Folgers coffee to me is terrible. I have to heavily flavor it to drink it. I have had other coffee from places like Starbucks and Dunkin that tasted the same if not worse. So, I've always assumed that all coffee tastes the same. I've decided to explore other coffee and liked the video you done on BRCC. One question I have is, I use a Keurig Cafe to brew coffee. For someone like me, do you recommend any other kind of coffee for this particular brewer. I'm pretty sure you are going to tell me to throw out the Keurig lol.
Hey, thanks for the sub! I can sympathise with what you're saying regarding low quality coffee all tasting the same. Many people seem to get used to the taste and and when you give them something good to try, you usually get one of 2 reactions: they either LOVE what you made and can never go back to the likes of Starbucks, or they hate it because it doesn't taste like "coffee" to them. Regarding your question, I'm not sure how much of an upgrade k-cups would make if you're looking to explore just how good coffee can be. The great thing about manual brewing is the ability to adjust all the different parameters of your technique to get the taste you want. This would require a hardware upgrade though, but a beginner set up can be had for under $100 and you can upgrade when you feel you have outgrown the equipment. Grab a grinder, a pour over kettle, and a V60 brewer (with some filters). As far as what coffee to use, anything wholebean from BRCC is solid and is a great starting point. From there you can try different beans and tasting profiles to really figure out what you like: dark, light, sweet, bold, chocolatey, fruity, etc. We have quite a few videos reviewing different coffees so feel free to look through those, but my current favorites are Onyx, Dragonfly, and Uprise Coffee. Hope this essay of a comment helped you in some way,. Good luck!!
You got a sub just because you called out Starbucks for what it is....over priced, over hyped but incredibly marketed coffee. Folgers by the way is a horrible offence to coffee that should not exist! I just taste and smell raw bitter aloe in all their medium roasts.
Folgers is the father of modern coffee, plus if you brew Folgers properly it will taste better than other bands at least in my experience. But so many coffee snobs don't know how to brew Folgers properly so they tend to hate on it, but Folgers if cooked properly in a stove top coffee Brewer could set in simmering so it comes to a slow boil it will leave Folgers with a Rich creamy nutty texture and flavor. Coffee pots on the other hand cooks Folgers way to fast which doesn't do Folgers coffee any justice.
My family has always drank folgers my mom likes hers super weak and my dad always mixed his with whiskey and milk. Personally I prefer gevalia's majestic roast over everything else.
Both ways you described are probably the best ways to drink Folgers 😂 I think there's an element of familiarity and fondness with certain tastes that you get used to and it's sometimes hard to switch to something that is objectively better. I've had people try some very high end speciality beans and they ended up still preferring the cheap stuff they have grown fond of.
I just found out that I've been cheated my whole life in terms of drinking coffee. I always get the cheap stuff, but I'm gonna start exploring other brands and other brewing methods. I'm excited. Thanks, guys.
If it has a really strange gross after taste then you are cooking it wrong. If Folgers coffee is cooked properly it will have a rich creamy nutty texture but I've noticed very little people knows how to properly Cook Folgers.
