A very creative guitarist I must say, and to still have that speed since the 80's is remarkable. Still have my old Guitar World mags from the 80's with him in it.
I got to see him open up for Deep Purple on their Perfect Strangers tour. I was able to see two guitar legends in one night. What more can you ask for.
I seen him in a small club in Detroit called St. Andrews Hall in 1985. The opening band was a band called Talas. Might of heard of their bass player? Billy Sheehan? I also seen the DP Perfect Strangers tour when it came through Detroit. Great show as well, but I was dazzled at the St. Andrews show.
@@daviclar867 Meaning you have to listen to every time he plays one if you want to hear extra special licks. There is also a library of little familiar licks and tricks he brings out in different songs, borderline repetitive when you zoom out, but as a guitar player myself, I understand that sometimes you're just connecting licks and riffs together
I think he remembers. But if he does have a few foggy moments. He’s entitled.. He knows how to slice it all together. He’s a God within the master of HIS own craft. A true artisan of the craft. Love it!
Yeah. And I'm fkn fine with. It I. Do go to CD. Boucoux. Thou. , love. This Soond. Like to play. With. It his. Tablet tree. Is. Phones. Book. Thik also
Just like Buckethead they never play the song same with studio version. In every live performance they are meant to play their songs differently and thats improv, Yngwie didn't forgot how to play the song he just want to do it differently.
It's called improvising, Yngwie allways plays slighty different on vast majority of he's songs, not only because he can but makes it more fresh to for the audience. I have seen and heard bands play songs note for note, on a few shows, bit predicted
Awesome video, thanks. I just saw him on November 26 in NH. Mind blowing. He was in really top form. I was in the 2nd row but no video recording was permitted.
I got to see him a couple months. I'm still blown away...never thought he would be in my town. He is the full package. Precision at its finest..total rock machine...2thumbs up.
Malmsteen was in a short lived band called Steeler with Ron Keel from Keel, Rik Fox ex W.A S P. original bassist. 1 album releasen in 1983 still in print!!!
Idk if it’s coincidence of the universe, but that sequence at 4:20 until he steps out of his stance. That’s from another planet, channeling the spirit of Paganini or something. It’s utterly glorious!
@@jerrywoods4066 yeah, brainiac, and Steve Vai also plays For the Love of God, and Petrucci plays Erotomania, and Gilbert plays Technical Difficulties for the last 30 years...........your point is?
Wow he's still looks amazing meaning that he looks young I bought his first album back in 1987 at a store that doesn't even exist anymore I'm 49 years old there's no guitarist like him never
Some say his sideburns are still growing to this day. Nah but in all seriousness, he looks amazing. I think he got into a health routine because he seems to have found a new vigor for playing/performing and genuinely looks a lot better than he did a few years ago
He had a drug and alcohol problem in the 90s him and dime bag and Scott Ian almost got into a fight in Dalles after cowboys from hell tour him and dime bag were ready to go Scott broke UT up and yjm turned on Scott I believe the concert manager broke it up and almost kick yjm off the tour
Seen this tour in Lynchburg Va.. Geez man!!! Absolutely smokin!! His band was absolutely incredible as well. World class musicianship severely beating ass. 🤘🤘🤘
Nice to see him still shredding. I bought tickets to see him live at the canyon at Montclair, Ca but he postponed due do doctors orders bit the show will be on next year may.
I translate: well done for the perfect image. What a master is yngwie! He is incredible! ( I have no qualifications in le francaise btw!) je suis au pays de galles
The best guitarist in the world are always people who are able to approach things differently. Classical orientation opens many doors to those paths. That's all.
Hey man, do you think I could plug into one of those amps and we could, eh, do a duet or something? Otherwise, we'll have to stick a sm-57 Infront of my vintage Fender Champ. You just say it, and it's ON.
Но Всевышний не дал ему талант музыканта. Другое дело Андрей Королëв например, зайдите на его канал и сравните, это небо и земля, вот кто действительно талантливый музыкант, композитор и также виртуоз. Мальмстин на такое вряд ли способен.
If you wanna talk about burning up the fretboard, check Shawn Lane, Guthrie Govan, Jeff Loomis, Paul Wardingham, John Petrucci, and Andy James. And the fastest by far is Roy Marchbank. He is so fast that it almost seems humanly impossible.
His playing and what he plays is one of a kind. No one plays like him . Other then Uli. But even he’s his own magic maker in this style of music. It’s never a let down listening to him play.
In 86 at GIT a PIT friend wasn't a fan, but when he wound up at a rehearsal to set up drums he came back and said "ok, he's incredible and was nice as far as I saw, I was wrong"
After billions and billions of hours of playing and practicing at that speed for over 40 years, how is it possible that his hands, tendons and arms are not totally broken? This guy must be made of steel.
I'm not technically a diehard "YM FAN".... but DAAMN Man, I discovered, respected & APPRECIATED his insane skills w/an 🪓... As a rebellious Jr high dropout artist/musician, seems an eternity ago~ back in mid-'80's... S.F. Bay Area, California, USA. We'd copy/trade cassette tapes w/fellow classmates: DIO, SCORP'S, MAIDEN, PRIEST, LEPPARD, OZZY- to name a few! I see this video & amazed at how YM really aged well!! Decades been good to Us! Especially him & his fortunate fame! I've been blessed w/good hair genes as well, not lotsa grey hairs, & hairline still strong.... but 2know this Rock Soldier does countless global gigs annually, spanning 4corners- just BLOWZ MY F'en MIND, man🤯!! ROCK ON~ 4Ever!!🤘🏻YM's🤟🏻 100% Pure legend 🎼🎸🎵🎛🎶
Whether you like him or not he is a pioneer of shred guitar. The guitar world can be divided into BY - Before Yngwie and AY - After Yngwie. He revolutionized rock guitar and brought it out of the blues straight jacket it was in. Along with Jimi and Holdsworth he created the template by which all.others followed. I remember buying Rising Force in 1984 and being in awe of this neo classical approach to rock. No one else was doing it so completely like him. Now every guitarist out there is doing it. It's almost lost its meaning. That's why I go back to the pioneers.
