BLACKBEARD?!~ Our Flag Means Death 1x03 "A Gentleman Pirate" REACTION! 

All I will say is that this show has my favourite portrayal of Blackbeard so far.

The second hand embarrassment while Stede is on the Republic of Pirates is palpable.

Fun fact! Stede Bonnet and Edward Teach were both real people and real pirates! They actually did meet when Blackbeard (Teach) saved The Gentleman Pirate (Bonnet) after being stabbed in the gut. They hung out together for about two years, then both met pretty grisly ends. There's a ton of stuff in this show that's actually based on fact. Izzy Hands was actually Blackbeard's first mate, for example (Izzy is short for Israel). There's a very deep rabbit hole with this show!!

Now THIS is where the show starts to get good 😍 (It's all good but THIS episode is where the main storyline comes in >:D)

The little references to actual pirate history in this show is great and a reminder of all the gross and scary things pirates did to make themselves infamous by reputation. I have a feeling that Morgan might be better off not knowing how real some parts are, considering how grossed out they were of the nose jar.

If Morgan is still coping with Good Omens, dear god they will not survive the romance in this show

That OFMD poster has a lot of references to later episodes. The more you'll watch the show the more references will you understand.

The music choice at the end! You thought it was put of place, but from Stede's point of view, he's always wanted to be a pirate, and he's just been told that he's a terrible pirate, and then this impressive guy appears, saves his life, and says that he's heard all about him, and Stede was probably euphoric!

i cannot begin to describe to you how much a love this show. My first hyperfixation after realizing i could get those. Watched all of season 1 (so 5 hours) every day for 8 months.

I will never not laugh at Man for sale, Stede is such a cringefail individual, I love him so much 😅 Iirc, "We could have made magic" was improvised 🤣
