I have a few theories about Imu. 1. Imu became immortal and the king of the world reluctantly. Someone performed the Perpetual Youth Surgery on Imu without Imu wanting them to. Luffy wants to become the Pirate King, because that person has the most freedom. We can also see this with Doflamingo and Enel (two characters who both mirror Imu). Even though they don't specifically mention "freedom", they both want the power to do whatever they please (with Doflamingo wanting to become immortal like Imu and Enel wanting to be God also like Imu). The theme is "Being king gives you the most freedom", so it would be interesting to turn that theme on its head by having Imu's being immortal and king of the world be symbolic of his/her lack of freedom. It could also explain why Imu doesn't want people to know about him/her. Dr. Hiriluk said that a person dies when others forget about them. If Imu is immortal when he/she doesn't want to be, then having almost no one know about him/her would almost make him/her "dead". 2. Imu made a promise like Joyboy did. Joy Boy made a promise to the Mermaid Princess of 800 years ago. What if Imu made a promise like making a vow to make sure the ancient weapons never get revived? Maybe Imu became immortal, watched everyone from his/her time period die, and said to himself/herself "If I'm going to be living forever, then I need something to live for." Then he/she could remember a promise he/she made to someone important to him/her regarding the ancient weapons and their usage causing Imu to set up the World Government the way it's set up. I also like the theory that the people from the ancient kingdom were the bad guys and the world government of 800 years ago were the good guys (or the lesser of two evils), because it would take most peoples' predictions and completely throw them out the window. 3. Imu wants the Hito Hito no Mi: Model Nika to take away everyone's smiles. Almost every character in One Piece has been shown smiling at some point, but we've never seen the Gorosei or Imu smile. We haven't seen any facial expressions from Imu, because we haven't seen his/her face, but we haven't even gotten any of those famous One Piece laughs from any of them either. When Imu destroyed Lulusia, neither Imu nor any of the Gorosei showed any signs of pleasure for what Imu did unlike almost all of the other major One Piece villains who laughed and smiled when they caused someone pain. We know they've all done horrible things (as evident by the things Saturn has said and done), but at no point to they seem happy. In fact, they seem to be in a constant state of anger. Nika is said to bring smiles to the world, so Imu, despising being alive for so long and possibly becoming emotionally numb because of it, might want to take away the happiness from everyone else in the world. This goes back to the idea that Imu is "Sad Boy" or "Sad Girl" (foreshadowed by the Sa D. Bo flashback being in the same chapter where Sabo attacks Imu and the Gorosei). Doflamingo (who mirrors Imu) was in charge of the production of the smile fruits which made people laugh and smile even when they don't want to. Imu can be trying to do the reverse by making everyone sad even when they want to smile in a way to make everyone miserable like him.

I thought that mid robin theory died a when we saw her sleeping a few chapters ago with chopper, BB also has pudding who could read poneglyphs so robin is useless to them.😂

Random thought.. 😂what is BB just uses Davon’s fruit to formulate some type of impel down break out? Maybe to get doflamingo under his rule? Edit: this could also tie in since doffy has information about Marijois National Treasure. With caribou potentially joining the BB Pirates, BB would know about the ancient weapons as well.

Another option is if IMU is a mythical zoan user but doesn't have a real body then he could take BB body, because BB has a different body, special linage and already has a paramecia and logia devilfruit. IMU would have the ideal body and it would somehow fullfil the 3Devilfruits theory even if it is only BB body but umi's personality.

I don't see the BB pirates invading Marie Geoise. There'd probably be people there who can use observation to tell Katerina apart from Saturn, and that's if Katerina is able to transform into him to begin with. And there's Blackbeard getting no-diff'd by Imu if he makes it into the palace.

I remember years ago back before 5th Gear was even revealed that I claimed that BB&Co. would be the group to take out the Gorosei. Now we're here and things are a little different but I still have the feeling it's gonna be them to do it in the end.

On a writing stand point if One Piece was - a dark fantasy: Blackbeard kills Imu and find the One Piece, becoming the supreme dark lord, control the world for some years until he's defeated. - Watchmen: The moment Blackbeard shows up to Marijoa, Imu would've put the plan to take full control of the wolrd in motion 30 minutes earlier - Lord of the Rings: Blackbeard is defeated first in Isengard then Imu is defeated in Mordor, then Blackbeard is defeated again in the Shire and Lafite kills him. - Star Wars: Blackbeard dies in redeemption turning into a force ghost after killing Imu (but Imu is revealed to never been dead in Episode 9 ruining everything) As One piece is One Piece it's unpredicteble as Oda can change the story anytime until it's submited to publish.

BB might come from a clan that has powers that hard counter Celestial Dragons or the knights or something....maybe thats how he scarred shanks

If BB wants to fight Imu, he is going to pick up a fight with the another goroseis too, I think it would be too much because he would not be able to sneak all of his crew members in , so the BB crew are going to fight the admirals or holy nights, half of the crew barely won against Garp. Aokiji could get his rematch against Akainu but he would probably lose again, because I think Sabo or Luffy are going to fight him and the other admirals, Fujitora, Greenbull,(Kizaru?),(New Admiral?) or Holy nights would destroy the BB pirates. So I think maybe they are going to free Doflamingo or steal the treasure of mary geoise.

The strawhats have a tendancy to always split up on every island, so its possible that when the SH go to Elbaf they slit up, and one group goes to another island or since Elbaf is huge, one SH group will be on the opposite side of Elbaf and that will be the Lore side of things and the other side is where the fighting happens, since i believe that Big Mom and crew will be going to Elbaf for a rematch against Kidd and Luffy For one piece fans to think:”oh Kidd is back in the race” he would need to 1v1 Big Mom or do 95% of the damage to her

Truthfully the way I see the rest of One Piece going is something Oda has set up for us. I will try to make this as short and understandable as possible. I see us heading to Elbaf after Egghead. Either during Egghead or on the way to Elbaf, Vivi will rejoin the Straw Hats. The lore of Nika and the meeting with Shanks will come in Elbaf. I believe that due to the Gorosei showing up at Egghead, so next we HAVE to see the Holy Knights in order for the SH’s have a victory, as they will not beat all 5 of the Gorosei. I see Garling taking on Shanks, only for Blackbeard to show up and take the moment and fight a weakened Shanks and his crew. This will be after Shanks has held off Garling as long as he can before Luffy has to put this old man in his place, with extreme difficulty. Blackbeard will serve as some sort of Ragnarok on Elbaf. The crew will be forced by Shanks to leave so he can handle his business with BB. I believe BB will believe that he has killed Shanks by the end of it all, but knowing Shanks, he will return for the final war and laugh tale. After Elbaf, we’re going to meet the Rev Army so that Sabo can pass down Cobra’s words to Luffy and Vivi simultaneously. Other than those plot points, the 4th poneglyph has to be brought up, leaving only us having to deal with Cross guild in some fashion. From there the final war will begin as everyone heads towards Marie Geoise/Hachinosu/Laugh Tale. That’s my head canon of the story. And I believe we’ll see so much more but I think that layout is Oda’s actual plans like a checklist of places the SH’s still need to go.

I actually believe this. I think when Luffy reaches Laugh Tale and becomes Pirate King, Blackbeard will defeat the Gorosei & Imu to become the King of the World. Then we will get the big showdown between Luffy & Blackbeard, with the fate of the world in the balance.

Honestly at this point I'm starting to think we may get a Luffy and Blackbeard team up to defeat Imu, and then once Imu is beaten, Blackbeard pulls some underhanded sh%t and steals Imu's power. Luffy is left behind as Blackbeard heads for the One Piece, but after regaining his confidence Luffy goes to stop Blackbeard, setting up the final battle.
