Join me for a walk around the striking town centre of Blackburn, once a hub of Lancashire's immense cotton industry and a hive of textile production, and now home to an impressive blend of old and new architecture, as well as some great heritage on display all around.
As we walk around Blackburn, we pass a number of interesting landmarks, including Blackburn Cathedral, Church Street, Blackburn Market, Transitions sculptures, Exchange Arcade, Fleming Square, Northgate, King George's Hall, Blackburn College (Victoria Building), statue of William Gladstone, Blackburn Magistrates' Court, The Braid, Sudell Cross, Cotton Exchange, Blackburn Museum & Art Gallery, Richmond Terrace, Blackburn Town Hall, statue of William Henry Hornby, Blackburn County Court Buildings, Church of St. John the Evangelist, Blackburn Bus Station, The Mall, The Adelphi, Blackburn Station, Grandmother and Child, and the Queen Victoria statue in Cathedral Quarter.
