Great interview John Hargrove. Loved reading Beneath the Surface. It really explains so much about the Orcas behaviour's and the risks the trainers put themselves in daily. Honestly your book covers the complex lives of these incredible beings and I felt like I really needed to understand more so thank you for this incredible book.
I am reading that book right now, and it is hard to put down. Detailed, profound and sensitive. It shows all sides of working with those magnificent beings.
I’ve seen this craziness in the workplace before. People are so susceptible and down right stupid. Do they really think these businesses care about them? Morons
100 percent bad vibes from him. I get disgruntled ex employee vibes from him. he just dosnt come across as genuine caring about that cause. But I do think it’s weird that SeaWorld said he was a bad trainer yet he lasted 14 years. and rose above the ranks. But whatever. Who knows
“if you leave SeaWorld they won’t let you in another you can’t go in another park” Then why have trainers successfully done it in the past? Smh... such a liar
says the educated person happy to fund Seaworld, and argues the whales in Seaworld care with huge cuts and lacerations bleeding openly into the show pool, just cut themselves doing their nails... Somepeople just waste the air we share. Really, do some research... Blackfish, 2013, might be a start
@@were-all-human9427 to be fair, these lacerations are probably far worse and more horrific in the wild. don't get me wrong; i think orcas are far too complex for captivity but c'mon, they bleed a lot more in the wild (sea lions fight HARD and they've got claws)
@@were-all-human9427 in other words you sound like a knee jerk reactor activist. there are FAR better reasons orcas shouldn't be in captivity than the crap you spout lol.
"Survivor of a cult"??Lol, whatever. There have been to many contradictions in your own statements to believe a word of what you say anyways, but for you to say you survived a cult just makes me crack up! Stop looking for attention and move on John have a great day :-)
All large corporations operate like cults. All strong organizations of any kind can fall into cult-like patterns, and religion and politics have always operated like cults. As someone who spent time in a cult myself, I understand this better than I did before.
@@JaneDoexxx PETA does exactly that, their own employees have said that they have been tracked by the company wherever they are yet they are the ones to slander SeaWorld for fake reasons.
John was moved from killer whales to sealions because he was failing constanly.... HIGH RANGE??? senior trainer isn't a high range, at sw there is trainer, senior trainer, chief, curator, and directors, will you tell me that senior trainer is high? HAHAHAH lier man...
He was on camera drunkenly calling someone the n-word. EW! He also tweeted about a person he saw who he thought was mistreating a dog and said that said person was mentally ill. Yet, John had ZERO evidence that said person was mentally ill and had NO IDEA what he was talking about. Dude is more of a problem than a person.
