No thank you.... BMD needs to release a full frame sensor based off of there 12k sensor (in a smaller body). It's going on 4yrs now. & BMD new monitors NEED to be able to control ALL there cameras through Bluetooth.
@@JamesJacksonFilmz I've been waiting. I'm an Ursa 12k owner & I really like the camera. I never wanted to purchase one of the pockets (old tech), as my B-cam. I wanted the same sensor (or an updated one), in a smaller body. There isn't any reason why they can't deliver that 3-4yrs later.
@@Spidouz Something between a pocket & Ursa body wise. BMD aims to sale their products cheap, so I dont believe it will be as compact as a Red Komodo. & it doesn't have to be. Just a smaller body that can go onto a Ronin Rs3 instead of me having to put my Ursa on a Dji R2. I/We are not asking for a lot.
URSA Cinema... Yep at NAB Vegas their is a huge poster on side of one of the buildings that says Blackmagic URSA CINEMA on it. Something hot coming in.
I’m excited to see what Blackmagic does but I think my fire for the company died. lol I don’t trust that they will bring anything truly new. And I think they are ok with that and they just value recycling technology which is actually a responsible thing to do. Can’t blame them but I think they are playing things too safe and ultimately that’s gona get there “industry disrupter” card revoked. They ain’t disrupting anything and they haven’t in years. Trying not to hate but it’s hard to root for a company that plays it this safe. Just my opinion. 🤷🏽♂️
Their disruption comes from the specs you get vs the price. In that sense, they will always be ahead. Their design is getting tiresome but besides that, the image you can get from their cameras can rival those of cameras twice to triple the price, if you know what you’re doing
Ursa LF sounds about right. You hit the nail on the head the video assist monitors are long overdue for an overhaul. Great presentation James you got my sub!
Not sure how they would improve on the Video Assist. Maybe a bit more brightness or CFExpress support? Otherwise, they are already HDR and 12G with very good interface. EL Zone and Cloud support are all possible with software update
They will announce “Thee Ursa Major” it will contain a 16k Organic Quantum sensor. It will have 30 stops Adaptive Dynamic Range, Quad Native ISO at 400, 2500, 10,000 and 32,000. It will introduce 32-bit BRAW . It will have 12 Peta Byte internal storage plus the new CF Express type X. the sensor will be a Medium Format sized BEAST that’s slightly larger than the Phase One. At 55x47. Its patent is code named “Theeee gawd cam” . All Hail lord Petty!!! lol 🙂
It would make sense to have a FF URSA… the question is, what kind of censor? 6k, 8k, 12k? I’m no expert, but I believe FF is getting closer to iMax, and digitalization iMax is between 8k and 11k (from what I read)… that would be interesting. Wait & See
@@JamesJacksonFilmzwell, in fact they did both… and more. They did put the FF 6k in the new Pyxis 6k, they put a new FF 12k in the Ursa Cine, and then they made a new 65mm 17k to go on the Arri/IMAX territories… I guess they listened to everyone and made a new camera to reach each market :)
As mentioned in the video, the only thing I’ve been told is that they are announcing new products at NAB. The specs is just my theories based on Blackmagic’s track record with cameras, specifically the Ursa Broadcast G2 where they put the Pocket 6K’s sensor into an Ursa body.
@@JamesJacksonFilmz I believe he didn't mean point and shoot. He meant a camera that can fit in your pocket when you add a "fixed lens"(Meaning fixed focal length, not fixed to the camera permanently). Add lumix's 14mm pancake to it and it'll still fit your pocket, quite good combo
