BLACKPINK - ‘Pink Venom’ M/V REACTION | DG REACTS 

BRB, just dying over here... As always, these are just my opinions and my interpretation of the M/V, wrong or right, I had so much fun with it, so I'm cool with it. Looking forward to seeing your comments/theories! PS - I made a promise to hold off on the release of this reaction for the first 24 hours, it was incredibly hard to keep this promise cause I am incredibly impatient when it comes to releasing content, but it looks like I kept my promise, so, yay.

I have had the chorus stuck in my head all day. My daughter and I love it. I love when Jennie and Lisa rap together because Jennie brings the fierceness while Lisa brings the swag.

FUNFACT bout the song: - Jennie straight up started the song with some notorious big lyrics references "kickin the door waving the 44" - lisa's "one by one then two by two" reference to rihanna's "pon de replay" song - "look what you made us do" lyrics reference to taylor swift's song - lisa and jennie rap part using the synth sound reference to easy e's song "real muthaphukkin g's" - jennie wearing manchester united t-shirt with numbers 96, the year she's born

That new JenLisa rap scene is so reminiscent of the good ol days of Aaliyah, Missy Elliot, Left-Eye (TLC) era. Almost felt like a homage, a tribute to the boom bap era 💯

damn. you are the only one who made a cohesive interpretation of the whole music video out of all the reactions i have seen. amazing. love it.

Things that I gathered from watching the MV: "Kickin' the door, wavin' the Coco" is a reference to a song by Notorious B.I.G. The original lyrics was "kickin' the door, wavin' the four-four (Magnum .44)". The toy cage is a Chanel product (very expensive). Jennie called the toy bird Coco. The next verse by Lisa, "one by one, then two by two" is a line from Rihanna song. I heard someone pointed out that Lisa was dissing some managerial issue when she said "can't get a dollar outta me." That chorus? Didn't see it coming. As always, a surprise. The hook was cute, but naughty at the same time. The oldschool rap was a nice touch 🔥 Also, Jenlisa are so spicy in this scene. The second chorus hits harder for some reason. Weird! And the outfits! Also, I know a lot of y'all went solemn when the camera pans to Jennie during this 😂 Rosé in a tight, leather/latex number should be illegal. And the classic, signature onomatopoeia (that's when you use a word to represent sound) Blacpink outro! Also, dystopian outfits! 🔥 9/10 Stuck in my dome. Would get poisoned again.

Personally, nothing in this world can beat kill this love or DD4 for me, but this is a very VERY strong comeback. People don’t like it at first cause this is black pink stepping out of their comfort zones. Their song formula isn’t applied here, they had an anti drop as a chorus instead of full blown vocals and instrumentals bombarding us with noise. It’s not a typical chorus but I think that makes it better. It’s like even the music feels silent but deadly and that’s the whole theme of pink venom. Thinking that because they’re beautiful they can’t also be brutal. But black pink is both and none at the same time. A silent fire putting you to sleep, beautiful and brutal all the same.

Oh it's great that your video is so detailed and informative. There were tons of videos yesterday that were only 6 minutes long. 🙄 However, they add absolutely no value at all. This channel is where you get high quality content! 🖤

They actually threw ALOT of homages to other artists in here. For example the line from jennie with "kick in the door" is a homage to The Notorious B.I.G. - Kick in the Door. Lisas "one by one and two by two" line is a homage to Rihanna - Pon De Replay

I'm happy you got to experience your first Blackpink comeback. The instrument used at the start is a geomungo, which is a traditional Korean musical instrument, while the one in Hero is a guqin, and is a Chinese instrument. They would both be considered zithers, and plenty of other cultures have their own variations on them.

Like you the reverse drop chorus threw me on the first listen, now I love it. JenLisa with the return of rapper Jennie and Lisa yet again showing her born a star vibe. Jisoo with amazing visuals and vocals and rocker Rossie with the deeper vocals along with all the references to their back catalogue a song made for true OT4 blinks.

In the mv making video jisoo told that her concept is of a vampire who has lived for about 2000 years and is spreading pink venom and the things on the shelfs is the ancient pieces she has collected over the years

They're always on hiatus and companies trying hard to shut them off by making so many backlash and saying that BlackPink will end their shine soon but the more people dragging them, the more they're famous. "taste that pink venom" this is just my own idea. Literally the represent " pink venom" pink= themselves and venom= their quality.

Great reaction and breakdown, as usual. This one has grown on me since first listen. The cuts and the chorus left me a bit fuzzy, but after a few listens, that went away and I could enjoy it for what it is - a gift to Blinks. We got more Jisoo lines, we got rapper Jenny, we got a "dark" themed video, we got vocals, we got choreo, the girls looked fabulous. I like it.

You had it all in the bag. And thank you for pointing out some things that even we Blinks somehow missed (e.g., the burning moon behind Jisoo). At the same time, in that particular scene, Jisoo is seen sprinkling some powder, sort of like poison, and she wears a mask to protect herself while she basically unleashes the poison in the air. Fun fact: in the first prechorus, were Jisoo is still in the platform, you will see someone among the cloaked figures focused looking up while Jisoo is looking up. That was Lisa. Also, yes, Jisoo is playinh the geomungo, a traditional Korean instrument. They even had a teacher come to the set because Jisoo learned how to play it. The gayageum or kayagum (in Korean 가야금) is a Traditional Korean plucked zither, and Jisoo is playing it.
