I didn't care for Pink Venom, but Shut Down is MY JAM. I like a couple other tracks off the album but this was the PERFECT MV single to drop with the album IMO.

I noticed that the whole mv of Shut Down is like a compilation of scenes from their previous mvs but with a darker tone. 1) Notice Jisoo's umbrella are no longer on fire this time and its pink (Ddu Du Ddu Du- if im not mistaken) 2) Rosé were sitting on the world but this time, the world is black and pink which I believe it means they've conquered it (Whistle) 3) Lisa's bridge are no longer on fire and the water has turn darker (Playing With Fire) 4) Jennie's bathtub has turn black (Playing with Fire) 5) Rosé chandellier has turned black (was it Ddu Du Ddu Du?) I believe theres more and most of them has turned into a darker colour/has showed that its now under control. I think it symbolizes the black side of them and how they're in control of the world which suits so much with the lyrics and the melody. I really like this comeback and how they experimenting with their music. Its fun to hear new sound from them while keeping their identity! Its a good comeback!

"SHUT DOWN" is brilliant!! In my opinion, I could be wrong, This is Jennie's (shutting up haters) song if you haven't pieced it together. She is the member that receives the most hate, then Lisa (in past and currently in Korea). This is why I believe she took lead in this song. She had the highest line distribution then it's Lisa. Everything else is frosting on the cake. Meaning the song is also pertaining to Blackpink as a whole. Blackpink as Creative Directors alongside Teddy came up with a clever way to do it. Probably my favorite BP song ever. Was not the biggest fan of Pink Venom, but this one? This one SLAAAAPSSSS. Starts with Lisa in Playing with Fire. Jennie's glitter tank and shopping bags in Ddu du ddu du Lisa's rap part in Boombayah Jisoo's umbrella scene in Ddu du Ddu du Rosie on top of the world in Whistle Rosie driving similar to Kill this Love Jennie with the matches like Playing with Fire Lisa's samurai sword in Ddu du ddu du Group singing in the chorus background set is like LaLisa's single. All 4 in the Lambo is Boombayah (except they replaced the scooters with the Lambo).

Personally, I adore this comeback and the way how they are trying out new music. It seems to be an evolution of bp 2.0 (more mature & savage). The white and plain background simply demonstrated how powerful their aura and stage presence are, with or without glamorous set up. Noticed a collection of scenes from their past music videos, but with a darker tone including props like the globes, umbrellas, water, bathtub, and chandelier turned either pink or black. I believe it represents their darker side and their conquest of the world, which fits perfectly with the lyrics (slay as usual) and melody 💖🖤

Wow! Glad to hear your opinion on Pink Venom. Seems like 99% of Blinks love the song but the 1% that doesn't seem to really not like it at all. My only real complaint is how every half second the scene changed, I really wanted it to slow down so I can see what they are wearing and how they dance and really the whole performance. My only complaint for Shut Down is the same I have for most of their videos, way too short.

To me,,,, i really like shut down a lot, as u said it's more chill just like whistle. Actually the vocals n the set attract me the most from the mv bc how strange i can recognize all of the set is a remake from all the previous mvs. I enjoy more from Jennie n rosé vibes here, their attitude here is dif like an upgrade ver of them Jennie always looks sexy but she looks sexier here n her vocal, rosé vocal is always stunning but she sounds way more stunning here mybe bc she sing in a low tone for the chorus. And for Lisa jisoo to me they're still hv the same feel, Lisa is the confident one n swag as usual but her vocal in this album is stunning i always know that Lisa can sing without an attitude like sing a simple song slower one chill one. Jisso still the cutest tho she even rapping in here with her cute attitude like a kitty trying to be a Lion, Lmao but still jisso looks like a baby lion then 😅 n jisso's vocal here is stunning too, she's stunning but here n in this album is more like an upgrade. 💛

In this song and video, all four come at you with equal power, swagger, and attitude. Each bring their voices to the table to perfection. The beat is killer, the violin is killer, the beat drops are sick. By the way, I've been a full on metalhead since 1971. Blackpink is a rare instance in over 50 years where a non metal band breaks through my metal wall. I do not like pop, or hip-hop, or rap. I like Blackpink!!

Honestly, I have never been a BlackPink fan. They are talented just their music isn't really for me. They have a few songs that very close to be put on my playlist but not quite there. (I have heard almost of their songs on their albums, at least on sportify). However, this is, in my opinion, is their best songs and will make it onto my playlist. Good job girls. (Whistle and Du DU Du Du are the ones that almost made it). I listened to their album....I like the songs more than their other albums...they are good...Nice album, good jobs BlackPink (my favorites: Shut it Down, Ready For Love, The Happiest Girl, Hard to Love, Ready For Love, Typa Girl, Shut Down)
