Obviously adults understand the meaning of the song. But unlike western music videos where females have ass and tits hanging and far more explicit wording. I think it’s very tastefully done. KPop is all about cute visuals that hint to innocence for most females groups. These are grown women. Yeah it different and different is good when done right. I like the song better than their other single “how you like that” cuz the sounds is different. I think they still stayed true to who they are. It’s catchy and fun. It’s a summer song. And for KPop groups trying to break into the western industry and charts these days...it’s a hit. Cuz western pop ain’t bout much of shit anyways. Best Korean/American collab so far. So BTS Dynamite & Black Pink Ice Cream will hit the charts. For the western style period.

Is it really that the other reactors aren’t being honest or is it more that they didn’t agree with your opinion of the song so you dismissed them? I understand that the song isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but the girls are trying a different concept and have worked really hard on it. Maybe it sounded to you like pandering, but maybe for the girls that was their own way of owning their sexuality(everyone is different) . As much as everyone else disliked this song, I actually enjoyed it. Yeah the lyrics were literally just sexual innuendos, but sometimes people forget that these girls are adults no matter how young/cute/childish they are. Despite that, I do feel like YG are letting the girls down a lot - like, Jisoo barely got any lines and I don't know if that had anything to do with her not being fluent in English or what but she deserved more lines
But Jisoo sang the whole 2nd chorus "ice cream chillin" which was simple for her to sing live and was more than what rosie had tho. I loved the song. No hate from me. The girls exceeded my expectations!

I don't think DT deserves the hate some of you are giving him in the comments section. He can't like all the songs that he reacts to, it's virtually impossible. And even though he wasn't blown away by the song, he didn't say a single bad word about it, he was actually quite nice about it in the end. I haven’t loved any of the collaborations. This is a whimsical MV, but the lyrics are...well, you know what they are. I think BLACKPINK does better on their own.
If I don't watch the MV, and only hear the song without knowing that it is BP, and without reading the lyrics, I will accept it as a generic cute girly song that is not necessarily a bop. And I will enjoy the song, but I don't feel the need to put it in my playlist. . BUT, once I saw the MV and the lyrics, I feel the song is too sexual. What are "double dips coz you like it"? "A bag of cream"? "A cherry stay on top of me"? Is it wrong to assume that they are the ice cream who needs a double dip? . I dont mind at all if girls want to be sexy and choose to be sexy. Their other songs (i.e. DDDD) are about strong sexy women who know exactly what they want and refuse to be dictated even by men sexual imagination. Many of their songs are very powerful that inspire girls to feel good on being confident with their own skin and image. . But being sexy on your own confident expression is different than being sexy only to catering men sexual imagination. Yup. This is what this MV is all about. They look forced to be sexy in order to serve certain imagination. That does not liberate them nor support the image of powerfull-badass girls BP used to have.
