BLACKPINK LISA Being a TOUGH MENTOR REACTION! 

I have never seen this side of Lisa! She was all BUSINESS!

The girl in the beginning was adding an extra beat in her movements, Lisa was trying to get her to discover it herself. She eventually showed her exactly what she,was doing wrong. Lisa had two weeks to train them to win the competition and they had already been training so she didn't have time to be "soft".

For a more complete context.... It's a show in China. The show starts out with 109 girls. At the end of 4 months, only 9 will be selected to form a 9-member girl group. The winners (the 9-member group) will then be promoted with an album, concert tour and various product endorsement deals. In each episode, they are evaluated based on performances. Initially, the mentors (including Lisa) split the 109 girls into groups. The best performers are in the "A" group. The worst are in the "F" group. In between are B, C and D groups. (Just like standard school grading systems, that go from A to F.) After the first few episodes, some of the trainees are eliminated each week, based on votes from viewers and a panel of "young producers". The mentors (like Lisa) do not eliminate anyone. They are in charge of helping the girls perform at their best level each week in various group performances (usually about 5 to 7 members in each group). Of course most viewers really appreciated Lisa for taking her job seriously and helping the girls correct mistakes before performances. Some weird people thought she was "too mean" or complained that she "embarrassed people making mistakes by correcting them in front of others." These were ridiculous criticisms. For one thing, Lisa had to correct them in front of the others because they were preparing group performances. So everyone in each group was responsible for helping each other and making sure that everyone in the group knew what was needed and how to perform at their best. Also, Lisa only had a few hours to coach each group (comprising a total of 109 people), so obviously she did not have time to coach each individual privately. Also, it's important to keep in mind that the compilation videos show parts where Lisa was the most blunt, strict and "tough". Obviously, it's because these are the most entertaining and popular scenes. But generally she was always very cheerful with the girls, gave them lots of encouragement, demonstrated the correct movements and so on. You can see one example of a great mix of cheerful encouragement and strictness in a video called "Lisa was dissatisfied with Yvonne Wang's performance". In other videos, where a group of girls did really well, Lisa literally clapped for them and hugged them. (The people who criticize her mentoring style usually never even watched the show.)

And that one, that one and then mentor lisa 2 are really similar since has the same clips on it, some ppl were actually scary when this came out coz no one ever saw Lisa that serious even the BP members teased Lisa sometimes for being super serious, she's been always cute with the "happy virus" anyway keep going with this mentor Lisa series

The girl who wasn't smiling was a rapper, her natural style was more swag so she wasn't used to looking "upbeat and happy", which was the style of the group that they were trying to put together.

i agree with what you said that she has to be hard on them in order for them to learn. some people were hating on her because she was “too mean” no she wasn’t? she was teaching them like that because that’s how she also went thru when she was a trainee, i’m also an athlete like you and i know that coaches can be strict but it’s all for the best of us

You should react to the girls performance right after all the training they did, it’s is a type of Chinese show it’s a show of all girls.
