I know that he is very young yet, but I personally think that he deserves the knighthood for all the amazing roles he's played, from the bipolar Campbell Bean in Takin' Over the Asylum, his work as The Doctor (yes, I'm a 10 girl!), the simple fact that he has been a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company since the tender age of *25* - and, really, he's the absolute best Hamlet I have EVER seen (and as a Shakespeare lover whose favorite tragedy is ABSOLUTELY Hamlet, I have watched at least 9 different versions of the play), not to even MENTION his amazingly deft, compassionate, and, above all accurate portrayal of a traumatic brain injury survivor in Recovery - and he was so moved by what he learned about how we have had to rebuild our lives with determination, bravery, and, ultimately, optimism, he became the PATRON (SAINT) of Headway Essex, a UK-based charity dedicated to helping survivors regain as many of their former faculties as they can. Gods bless you, David Tennant, you are a good man, as well as an intelligent, brilliantly talented, and handsome and (dare I say sexy?) man. Truly one in 6 billion.
The first date was done so perfectly. David's expression, his honey voice, the song, the whole sequence with him dancing so close to SP... I don't think there is a sexier scene on TV.
"I'm holding back because I listened to what you said, I took you seriously!" The poor woman can't seem to take anyone at their word after what her husband put her through. He was definitely being genuine there.
Woah, at first I thought Peter was pretending to love Natalie but he wasn't! It surprised me completely, David Tennant you are a brilliant actor! I thought I knew your expresssions and you dumbfounded me again!
I love the music but I wish they'd turn the sound down a little so we can here the actors sing. David was giving it his all at around 26.09 and couldn't hear a word.
That's not the point, though, is it? It's just the audio in our heads, we all do it. We all hear the original and then, maybe, sing along. It's our playlist; not our voices.
As another commenter said, “came for Tennant, stayed because it’s actually good… and also Tennant”. 100% me. Didn’t expect to ADORE this show, and I wound up watching all of it in a day, hahaha.
@@katieblue5051 it was much the same for me, honestly. Tennant is a great actor. He scared the crap out of me in Jessica Jones to the point that I haven't even watched season 2. Saw him again in Doctor Who and more recently in Good Omens, and I thought if he could play such disparate personalities like that so convincingly, then his other work should also be great. It is. He's awesome. He's REALLY nice to look at, too.
Can you believe the show is making me want to visit Blackpool, I will looking out for the filming sights on my way. I like the musical scene of the wife and the detective inspector watching the drag show and then dancing. (I am from London).
mighty late here ! Johnnie come lately !! you got to know when to hold 'im ALL IN ! alright I've gone off on a tangent but good idea I remember the original fright night an underatted classic and also consider TENNANT one of the best of the DOCTORS great series ENJOY!!
No comments? "It's an outrage! A scandal!" Okay, so I'll be first then. This is great. Love the musical numbers, it's perfect. Thank you, RU-vidr. :) You help to prolong and intensify my Tennant Fever. Lol, I'm weird. . .
I love the show. I wish it was on DVD here in the US. David Tennant is an amazing singer. And an even more awesome Tenth Doctor in Doctor Who. And he's great in Broadchurch. Oh David Morrissey is great as one the Tenth Doctor's one-off companions in the Christmas episode "The Next Doctor" from season 4.
Fun fact for those of you who are familiar with the Doctor Who spinoff Torchwood: D.C. Blythe, David Tennant's young assistant in here, is played by Bryan Dick, who would later go on to play the titular character in "Adam", series 2 episode 5 of Torchwood.
Love the scene in 'Funny Girls'. Oh btw if DT aked if he could kiss you, would you really ask why? I know the leads always get good mentions but I think two people who get overlooked in this series are Bryan Dick (DC Blythe) and Thomas Morrison (Danny Holden).
For anyone who thought this was the LAST episode it's not, there is an ending, It's under the Blackpool 6-the affair of Peter & Natalie. It's broken up into 6 parts. There is a audio problem with the first half of the 4th part, which sucks but watch bc it's important to the story. Also, a Blackpool 2 was made but important characters aren't in it. I won't give it away bc it will ruin the ending of this one!! ENJOY!!
So weird to see Ripley playing a character without the walkers about to split open his guts and eat it while he is still alive and feeling every part being ripped apart.
I'm curious about how Morrisey's character will change... until now he's doing an awesome job at portraying the brash, know-it-all, don't cross my way bastard :D
When it said in the intro "he was dead. As dead as southport" I literally can't stop laughing because it used to be so true hahaha but southport seems to be doing pretty nicely now and Blackpool well... Hahahaha
Nothing wrong with Blackpool. Run down in places but it's not its aesthetic looks that people go there for. And it gets millions of visitors each year.
I thought that too! His methods are... let's call it unconventional, and his little game with Natalie kind of makes him the bad guy. I like the character though.
Okay, so correct me if I'm wrong. So far, a murder has happened, no one in the family did it (or at least no one in the family besides the dad is particularly suspicious), a detective is playing the wife (genuine as it may seem), the son is on drugs, the daughter has a thing for her insane dad's school buddy, and all in all the dad is slowly ruining his own life, the detective helping him? Jeez, this is almost as complicated as a bloody soap opera. Or... I don't really know what a soap opera is, so maybe more complicated? I just wanna know wtf is going on, really. *Please* can someone explain it to me?
Filch (I can't remember the actor's name) and Tennant are in two shows together, and at least one movie. I now that happens a lot with actors from the UK, but I find it hilarious with these two.
David Ridley (I think) who plays Filch, starred with David Tennant in both Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and Broadchurch. Tennant played Barty Crouch Jr., in HP4 and plays D.I. Alec Hardy in Broadchurch where Filch plays the newspaper and tourist office manager.
The part really suits him, he was a shifty character then and now he is more at home playing the owner of a cheap carnival. It is just in his real life and it leaks out into his other acting jobs. He must be in person a real shifty type of person, always showing off, but what is he showing off? His flair for being a controlling version of a boss.
The whole supermarket stalking bit is laughable. Tennant looks gaunt and slightly disturbed.. if this guy tried to bump into a woman for a second time she'd panic and try to get away from him.. not make plans to go on a date
I don't think I've ever seen this in anything else, it's like a musical but the actors are just singing along to the song, is there even a name for it?
That's because you don't understand the concept. The musical numbers are expressing the thoughts and feelings of the characters but are not actually happening in their reality.
If you think Peter Howell or however you pronounce the man's name is out of Asus I don't think so that's an pretty certain of it I've seen this movie before so no I don't think he's out of the bases he has not yet begun to scratch the surface of the deck of cards he has now the crazy were going after a married woman yeah Tsar Peter called out you are not Casanova I'm surprised they even said his name correctly surprised I even said Peter call out correctly considering I can't even find out today at the time that's the hardest name to freaking pronounce at least when you play Brandon block it was a lease easier to pronounce
I’ve not watched any video’s for such a long time, does anyone know what happened to ABCD, I SUBSCIBED to him last year but can’t find him. I really enjoyed his videos.
I don't really get the concept of having your actors sing underneath the main vocals? If you don't have the confidence to let us actually hear them singing, you might as well not. I thought it was supposed to be more like the musical numbers in a Broadway show, but they could just as well have played the songs and not have the characters sing and it would work the same. Kinda disappointing...
What's with all the Yanks in London? Most don't seem to realise that London is just one city, and that there are many more interesting places to see in England (and Scotland and Wales if you must) outside of it. Unfortunately most Yanks seem to think London IS England and noting else. Now let's take an American city of a similar size (even if it isn't the capital) New York. It would be ludicrous to think America had nothing more interesting to visit than New York wouldn't it? So in that context you're losing out by not exploring further out from London. Still, the average Yank is in good company with the average 'Brit' (Brit? No thanks I'm English) because they know next to nothing about their own country, given their rather weird propensity for disparaging it at what seems every given opportunity. Still, there are some of us left with some semblance of pride.
Well be a dependent again I disagree with you on that one son men like Doctor Who can't even say I love you and instead of saying I love you says it doesn't need to be said and therefore again I disagree I think it's a load of crap it is a load of interstellar horseshit self-involved Interstellar horseshit
The accent is so awful, it is barely audible, Ripley is a fake, how can he play one part and then play this Ripley character, it is way too absurd to even call it acting. Ripley is charming as ever, he just ripped at his son by calling him a jerk off. The way he treated Andrea in the Walking Dead was appalling, just like his true nature, true to character.
