Same. I have looked for biblical sound churches in area and have not found a black church that is. Not saying that all white churches our but those who are sound are few and far between nowadays.
I am an American, and I attended an Asian Church that, like Smart Christian Life, taught sound Doctrine. To my surprise, I was made to feel like a member of their Church family. As Christians, we are all Brothers & Sister in Christ 👃🙏
Well, during slavery times, Black people were not allowed to worship with white people, so ot kind of stuck. Also, black churches have been breeding grounds for Black revolution and protected our personhood while white churches fought against integration.
I think and hope that soon Black people as a whole will re-exam our relationship with religion altogether. The ties to our subjugation are unavoidable and constantly glossed over.
Wow… race… there is neither Jew nor Greek in Christ. We as believers should never be divided based on race. Praying for these 2 people. We shouldn’t be dividing people of God.
AMERICAN HISTORY IS REAL!!! The original Slave Bible was published by Law and Gilbert publishing house in London in 1807, and the copy belonging to Fisk University was published the following year. It was published on behalf of the Society for the Conversion of Negro Slaves to educate enslaved Africans and preserve the system of slavery. Why Bibles Given to Slaves Omitted Most of the Old Testament The so-called “Slave Bible” told of Joseph’s enslavement but left out the parts where Moses led the Israelites to freedom.
That's plantation christianity. The verse is metaphorical. Do you literally believe there is neither man nor woman either? Maybe in the catholic church.😅
And I go to a predominantly Black Church, where we have a few White people in it, and I've been to visit a predominantly White Church with a few Black people in it, it's time we take segregation out of the church and be one body of Christ like the Bible calls us to be and make sure we're being a BIBLICAL church, NOT a RACIAL church.
What you are advocating sounds good but it will never happen until Christians on both sides are willing to HONESTLY deal with the past. Our introduction to Christianity is so horrible and no one wants to deal with it so these things will continue to exist. Has anyone ever took a look at a map of the Slave States and compared that map to a map of the states that make up the Bible Belt? One has to ask why are the states where the bible is most prominent the same states in which owning Africans is legal? Black Christians are ashamed of this history and will do anything to avoid to maintain their comfort. And White Christians feel extremely guilty and dealing with this takes them out of their comfort zone.. Its a Cold Game
We were the white family at the mostly black church it wasn't that weird for me my school was half black half white most of my friends were black i grew up and then moved to an all white area and then that felt weird lol
I am not blessed with lots of melanin, yet go to a church where I am loved by all and where there are a lot of members with various shades of skin color. Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. God is no respecter of persons, and died for the sins of the whole world.
YOU ARE BRAINWASHED!!! This god thang is out of control. How many times did the screacha or congregation members invited you over for dinner? You ain't Black; you're just covered with Black skin, but wite on the inside! WAKE UP
They are VERY STRONG on missions Even in African Nations You rarely see a traditional black church..giving to missions in these nations These pastors also Practice tithing to them
Maybe that should be taken with a grain of salt though because the "white-savior complex" is a real thing, and certain people are very much motivated by that. One thing to gauge is if they spend THOUSANDS of dollars to do overseas missions to areas where the people are poor and darker-skinned, but won't do ANYTHING for those same kinds of people in the urban areas in their own city. They'll only go to places where they are the celebrity because of what they look like and what they bring with them, and even the poor people overseas now know how to "play the game" to get what they want from the visiting mission-trippers. Many black churches tend to not do missions because their pastor's new suit is the mission; the pastor's wife's new car is the mission; the new building is the (never accomplished) mission, etc.
I came out of over 30 years of Islam into a “black” church. I learned nothing of significance-just some BAD theology. In fact, one of the last times I went to that black church, Jamal Bryant guest peached (he is a friend of that pastor). He suckered me (at the time I was a laid-off, poor, single Black mother) into giving my last dime for the blessing of being able to pay my bills that week. Didn’t happen. I fell away. Over a decade later, I am flourishing in my faith AT A “WHITE” CHURCH. Because of God, not man. I am back with a vengeance, for God says to not neglect fellowship. Most Reformed/Calvinistic churches are populated by White brothers and sisters. So what? I am learning and growing and I love what God is doing in my life.
@Cavalier-km2bewow, lady gives her testimony and all you got to say is well you still ain't good enough. Well that's why we need a savior you as well.
I'm not a preacher, but your story is the warning I have been putting off for years. It has nothing to do with race, a white preacher could have told you the same. It's the danger of pushing people away from Christ , while they fill their pockets with money. Sadly single mothers , people that are ill or have ill children are their targets. I'm happy that you found your way back, and that these men, black or white, don't represent Jesus. God bless.
I KNOW HE DIDN"T JUST SAY THAT!!!! I GUESS HE THINKS THE BODY OF CHRIST HAS A WHITE SECTION AND A BLACK SECTION. THERE IS NO DIVISION IN THE BODY OF CHRIST! I don't even want to go and hear a lot of shouting. I need to learn and I can take that and do my own shouting.
Since he’s a heretic he’s not in the Body of Christ. All of this conjecture on his part. Since he has never attended a predominantly white church he has no idea whether or not they allow blacks on the finance team.
True! It doesn’t matter to God’s kingdom or those who seek it. Sometimes our words reveal what we’re truly seeking and it’s not what we ourselves realize.
@@jukejoint523jordan6 I'm just trying to understand your statement, no need to be combative...what are you considering "blatant" racism? and what does America discussing this have to do with the body of the church? Social justice and the Gospel have nothing to do with one another...
I was saved at a predominantly white church. I would’ve stayed except I moved out of the area. If people have the love of Christ and someone experiences racism, then lovingly confronting that person about their racism is in order.
It is never acceptable to treat people poorly, especially when you claim to be a Christian. I’ve seen coldness and rudeness at Black churches, but there are a lot of stuck up, stank faced people at too many churches. As a result, it can be challenging finding a church home that’s a good fit. Ultimately, I lean toward any church that’s actually Bible based. The people at those churches tend to be kinder too so I don’t care what color they are, and I surely don’t care what any hateful person thinks about it.
I am white and I was raised in a black church.I thank God that my mom and step father took me to church at all,it just happened to be Bethlehem Baptist Church under the late Pastor Jones, who was a holy Ghost filled, fire and brimstone preacher, sadly the church that I was raised in is no longer that way.I am blessed that the seed was planted.ToGodBeTheGlory!!!!
Yeah that's cool for you but us Black Folks in the states are English speaking Christians because our slave master was an English speaking Christian. Yall chose to go to a black church. We were forced into a religion of our former slave masters. That history will always cause problems
@@oldschool5 That wasn't Christianity. I heard about the Bible made for slaves and God wouldn't ever condone that! Many will say Lord, Lord and many professing christians will be told the same, that He never knew them, depart from Me you workers of lawlessness!!! 😔 It's a fearful thing for a sinner to fall into the hands of the Holy God!!!
@@PandySearl No. Every slave didnt have a slave bible. That existed in a certain place for a certain time. The fact is that we were introduced to this religion by slave masters. That's a fact. And most Black Christians hate to admit that. We never knew about Jesus Noah Bible God Moses or Abraham. We learned about these characters from our slave master. That's a fact. If you ever really want to know who really dogged out your people all you have to do is just look at the holidays you celebrate, the language you speak and the god that you pray to. Ofern times that will tell you who destroyed your ancestors
I am a black person in a predominately white church and I am involved in the finance and highest levels of leadership in my church. I’ve never felt more loved and cared for than at my current church.
I'm in a predominantly white church as well. That seems to be where my ministry assignments are right now. I work in leadership and with the youth department as well. Also, I'm on the church board and I don't seem to focus on whether we're white or black but whether or not we're ministering the gospel of truth from the scriptures.
My pastor is white, and so are most of the members. The area is not a "good" area. I go there because they preach the gospel and are sound in doctrine. They teach, lead, and stand on the word of GOD. That's why i go there, not for any other reason.
I attend a wonderfully diverse church. We sing songs in English, Spanish and Korean. Our lead pastor is black and came from a historic black church and I love it there. Everyone is welcoming and kind and the word of God is preached truthfully and fearlessly. I refuse to go to a black church for the foolishness exhibited in the video. I'm sure not all black churches are like that but I'm not taking any chances. I feel more connected to the people in my church than most that I encounter on a daily basis because of our shared love of Jesus, which transcends race.
What Jamal said about blacks not being in the finance department of predominantly white church is not true. The church I attend does have a black associate pastor on the finance team.
I’m Hispanic and attended mostly predominantly white churches and was accepted! I attended and was a minister AND served on the trustee board at a black church for 9 years (COGIC) was accepted and warmly received as family! Man I just don’t know……
It shouldn’t matter as long as it is a Christ led church but the hurts people experience in life will draw you to a church where you are comfortable because people look like you. I don’t begrudge anyone going to a church that is sound in the Word and lifts up Christ. But I refuse to condemn church service that is jubilant. Some things about the church when looked at closer are cultural and not necessarily racial.
The Devil. All these false churches are of the devil except the one Jesus created and he called 12 ordained Apostles. Jesus church must have a Prophet and 12 Apostles that works in unity and that true church is restored upon the church and no foolishness or worldly trends are apart of it. These Bishops are not paid a salary to preach. Congregations can be predominant with one group or another depending the demographic. You go to the Caribbean, mostly black people, go to Africa, mostly black people, go to North America mostly white people. We are all one. Only Satan wants us separated.
@@barbeegirl7196And the clueless congregation! Never forget- this was once Eddie Long’s church. He went to his grave denying that he was a gay pedophile. God knows the truth. Bottom line, this church’s history is to back the pastor- no matter what.
I've attended both a black and white church for equally 10 years. My best experiences and learning of true salvation was in the white church. And, yes, there are blacks working finances in the white church. 😏
Thank you for covering this subject. My son is mixed and it was hard to find a church when he was young. The white church didnt want him there and the black church didnt want me there. Church seems like the last place to have this foolishness
The world has a lot of strife. We're not denying the historical struggles among the ethnicities. God didn't. It's all through scripture with the children of Israel. In-fighting among the tribes, fighting among the descendants of Ishmael, fighting among those in the commonwealth of Israel and those outside. (Barbarians, Greeks, etc.) Babel... look at the division there. When we fellowship in heaven, we'll be rubbing elbows with people of all ethnicities (Revelation 7:9). In fact, some of those same people who hated us in this life who have been converted might be right next to us. (Revelation 7:9). The point is to overcome. That's what the child of God does. They overcome. They overcome evil with good. They overcome sectarianism. They overcome ignorance. The overcome society's need of classism. The evil is there, but we overcome (first wrestling with our own conscience).
I attend a predominantly white church and I get along well with them all. They have all been really wonderful people to me and I to them. And it’s Not fake. Real people of God don’t worry about race. We realize that we are all brothers and sisters in Christ.
My son and I experienced racism in my last church. That showed me that it wasn’t actually a church led by Christ. I do not assume every single church with diversity will be the same. There were other little red flags before the event. I have learned and will continue to search for a Biblical church, regardless of what color the people are.
I enjoy this presentation. However, I never understood Voddie's opinion that he had a duty to join a predominantly white church as an avenue of racial reconciliation. If he honored God's command, great! Nonetheless, I don't know if his family was going to change the bigger issue of racial divisions.
That's where I came to Christ in a church that had a white Pastor. The black churches i have attended throughout my life never filled me. I went there the feeling empty and left empty. The Pastor at the white church went through the scriptures. He broke it down which made it more understanding. I would go home and pick up where he left off. Maybe if the black pastors would just say the scriptures and stop trying to cough up a lung to the playing of music. Always looking for a shout/praise break moment. Just give people the word
Talking negatively about a black pastor with a black congregation is easy for black people to do. Remember the old saying back in the day "the white man's ice is colder"
I go to a white church because they aren’t political and the one I go to actually teaches the gospel line by line. I tried to find a black church, but the SEVEN I went to were political, too lax in dress, have female pastors, lack of traditional songs, and the “sermons” were really just pep talks. I’m not here to here to listen to men talk and give their opinions. I’m here to LEARN. If someone knows of a black church that is not like the aforementioned black churches I’ve visited in CHICAGO, let me know.

There was nothing wrong with the brother "Praising The Lord In a Dance" @12:39 Don't call it Foolishness,David danced until his clothes fell off! If King David were in this time, you would have called him foolish.!!
I was with you until the end lol. White churches are just as entertaining as black churches 😂😂😂 they have more lights and smoke machines than most tours
I’ve gone to black church and got absolutely nothing but a headache from the yelling and screaming. My church is in a predominantly white town and we rarely get white visitors. RARE!! We’ll get Spanish before we get a white person. Honestly I think it’s all down to worship style and denominations
I've visited charismatic denominations and felt the same..nothing. I'm saved and wondered how does anyone accept Christ here because it's very noisy. Rarely is anyone opening and reading the Bible, rarely is anyone hearing that you can come as you are but you will not leave the way you entered once you've accepted Christ...all of that whooping and calisthenics makes no sense. I refuse to attend R&B "church".
@@4CQueen Denominations exist because everyone interprets the Bible differently. I didn’t say there was a wrong or right one. Most denominations teach holiness anyways
Most white churches are ending services while black churches are just starting. It used to be a lot of black churches wear you out with 3 hour services, not including Sunday School. There are also the night services. It's gotten better, some black churches now start the service earlier and cut out long testimonies, choir singing 4 selections before the sermon etc.
@@marciapeak893 yes. My church service went from 4-5 hrs to 1.5 to 2hr max (depending on if it’s a special program) and I love it. We also start at 11 so it’s not too early
The more I hear Jamal Bryant talk the more it becomes clearer that the HOLY SPIRIT is absence in his life! It’s sad to watch he’s fired from ministry and doesn’t even know it.
I went to a Baptist church a four years ago and they have the nerve to start out with the politics and if someone in the house wont vote kick them out i left asap and never looked back one thing that grinds my gears is beating forced fed with politics
i CAN SAY DIVERSE CHURCHES THAT IS RAN BY A MAN PASTOR. PREACHES AND TEACHES MORE ON FAMILY DYNAMICS. THEY ENCOURAGE MARRIAGES & HELPS TO KEEP THE TOGETHER
I'm "white" and I honestly think they don't want you to go to other churches because they don't want you to think of yourself as Christians but black people. There are political churches and pentecostal churches but the people who go to those they know after a couple times, that aint it either.
"...I married a woman who graduated from a Historically Black College or University..." why couldn't he simply say "I married a Black woman?" Hmmm has me scratching my head🤔🤔🤔
Because HBCUs are a matter of pride in the black community. HBCUs exist because white colleges originally didn't accept black folks. So there is a sense of history and pride there.
I'm a member of a predominantly white church. Was recently ordained a Deacon, and I'm on the board of Trustees. So... his points are invalid. Also, all the black churches I attended/had membership had several theological issues or pastoral issues that were quite off the way a healthy church should be.
As an american with filipino ethnicity, we Christians should not be segregated for the color of our skin, but come together and worship Christ our Savior
I don’t see an issue. What about the Hispanic and Asians who have their race in the church’s name? It’s not just white church vs black church. I prefer predominantly Black churches because that’s how I was raised, and I prefer the style of music. I’ve also been a member of white churches, and contributed musically there. I have also experienced racism openly at the white churches, so that’s why I treasure being part of a church where the congregation looks like me. Call me what you want; if the Lord led me to that church, I will go. And I worked for a predominantly white prosperity preacher’s organization and when I left work on any given day, after being a token, (they intentionally only hired white people) it was a breath of fresh air to go to my church, especially during February. To be around “my own people” after not seeing them during the week, was and still is refreshing.
I was waiting for this to be released because I knew this is how you felt. It’s insane to use division and scripture in the same message. These issues are happening in all churches, NOT JUST BLACK CHURCHES!! Our experiences are going to be different and we, as the body, will go where we are fed, to which has been mentioned. We tend to forget what environment has been created that promotes division. Stop this weirdness and trying to make black people the problem. Sin is the problem. Racism is sin! Causing division is sin! Lying, cheating, fornicating, etc. is SIN! It’s happening everywhere in every city, state and country where the leader of that church is not following YHWH. Leave black people out of this and focus on those that are out of order, which there are plenty to choose from including in other races. Your pledging allegiance right in front of our faces. There are black people being led and fed by other black people and we’re fine. But give us a break please! Sheesh….
I had an amazing experience attending a predominantly Black church for ten years. I now attend a predominately Hispanic church with a sizable Black membership. We know that heaven is not going to be segregated, but the truth of the matter is that the churches are in America, unless you attend a multicultural church. We can thank slavery and Jim Crow laws for that. There’s nothing wrong with a Black person attending a predominantly White church, as long as he or she is treated well, their issues are being spoken of, and they have an opportunity to use their God-given gifts. Black and multicultural churches speak to the issues that affect Black people. Well, most of them anyway.
This conversation is far more nuanced. Damon Redding is on point! Many black parishioners make the faith cycle which we see over and over again. They grow up in the black church full of Jesus and the loud gospel music, but you don’t feel you are getting enough teaching. You leave for the white church and get reformed theology and the riverdance music. You worship with many people who don’t look like you which can be a great thing! You get involved in ministry and serve. All good! The problem arises when you have cares and concerns in your community (like George Floyd, police brutality and injustice), and nobody at your church can relate or have empathy. So, you start to feel isolated, lonely, and leave to return back to the black church after a decade or more. In frustration, you realize that you need to help reform the black church. You have come full circle.
Jamal Bryant has a problem with blacks who attends a "White Church" But he doesn't have a problem supporting abortions, false doctrines, heresies, immoral behavior, compromise, departure from the faith/sound doctrine, the love of money, making merchandise of people, etc... The Lord our God as no respecter of persons & in Christ there is neither Jew or Greek/Gentile, bond nor free, male or female. For we are all one in Christ Jesus. The true church, the body of Christ is the one New Man. What difference does it make if one attends a church ministry that is predominately different than ethnicity. When Christ returns he's not coming for color, he's coming for his church, which in not based upon ethnicity or nationality......Ambassador Everett
There are foolishness in white church, but white people are not pointing them out and saying this why other groups are not going there. Why are we? Just asking. Seeking understanding why we are different.
I'm a black pastor and in our church we have White, Hispanic and Asian members and our church is predominantly black. But I must agree in my personal experience that I did and still do find myself being confronted with racism in white churches. I'm talking about Bible believing fundamental white churches. Its sad but I just believe that they need to simply have a real encounter with Jesus. One thing for sure this kind of foolishness has no busy being in the house of God. "A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another." John 13:34,35
When you say you've experienced racism in Bible believing White Churches could you provide an example? And have you brought it to the attention of the Pastor of that Church? I'm asking because a church I attended DID have an openly racist person who was confronted by members, brought it to the attention of the elders and Pastors and he was swiftly rebuked and was asked to leave the Church ( he wasn't a member)Any kind of partiality being shown to anyone regardless of how they look is something condemned in Scripture. If we are seeing it or experiencing it we must bring it before the elders and Pastor. If that Pastor allows it than we leave and mark and avoid. Sadly even in Churches we will experience being sinned against. The most loving thing we do is confront it and lead that person to Christ and hopefully they will repent.
I don't mind sharing with you my experience of racism in Bible believing White Churches. First I think that it is important that I give you some history. I have been a Independent Fundamental Baptist preacher for 48 years. I have pastor a church in Alexandria Virginia of over 46 years. During my time in the ministry I have been blackballed because I refuse to teach or support that interracial marriages were unscriptural. I have had visiting White preachers interrogate my White members on why were they attending a black church. I have been told by a White pastor that he will only allow a certain amount of Blacks to join his church. When I've gone to preach at White churches many times I have been interrogated by White preacher who were also speakers at the meeting. I attended a conference just last year where a N-Word joke was made which the White preachers found entertaining as they were laughing. I had one White Bible believing preacher tell me for whatever reason that the worst thing that a White man could do is marriage a Black woman. I just looked at him as if he was crazy! I've personally experience a lot and seen a lot of racism in the church. I have a Black preacher friend who happen to have married a White woman and man oh man did he not go through it!!!! @@Psalm13924
Preach Christ and Him crucified only and let the Holy Spirit prove the word of God. The faith should draw men to God not to men of any ethnic melanin. God is not one of partiality.
I CHOOSE to worship in mixed race church. I prefer it! People need to realize, there will only be LOVE in heaven. Here on earth we need to practice it! We are ALL created in God’s image, and all bleed RED blood! When we are One in Jesus, we are ONE together!
This is dumb. Some of us, like me, are actually be led by the Lord in attending a White church. I grew up attending a Black church with my family. In my adult years, I even attended a huge church where the pastor is White but the congregation is mostly Black. Currently, I attend a White church because that's where the Lord has me for this season, and where he has had me since around 2014. When I moved to another state in 2020, God led me to another White church for His purpose. I'm gonna do what Holy Spirit wants and could care less what Jamal Bryant, of all people, thinks. But, if I was leaning on my own decisions, I would never attend another Black church again for the same foolishness in the video. 🙄
Heaven is not segregated, 📖 After this I looked and saw a multitude too large to count, from every nation and tribe and people and tongue, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and holding palm branches in their hands.( Rev.7:9). Why should believers be segregated?
I attend a predominantly white church and am black and have been in charge of finance since 2009, so that's not been my experience. I am sure that there are churches that don't follow this model but just wanted to make it known that there are some people who are color blind.
I live in Alabama. We have a popular mega church that is a predominately white that has a large number of black parishioners. They were so proud to attend this church and some bragged about it until it was revealed that the senior pastor was supporting white nationalists through social media.
I started attending a non denominational church and Ill never go back to traditional baptist black church. In heaven all people will be represented how do we intend on being in heaven if we cant live together on earth? I was treated great and the staff truely loved everyone.
The devil got yall so confused, there is no white are black church, is Christ divided no. All of these different denomination is not from God. There is only one true church that is the bride of Christ, the true believers, who worship God in spirit and truth, , there only one true gospel that leads to salvation ,
There is a HUGE difference i have been to a mixed church with a black pastor and seminary school and theology ........he even talked about how they couldn't get there teenagers or grow kids to attend. But the real problem was him being out of touch and never talking about spiritual warfare
I go to white churches sometimes not closed off to black churches unless its a seventh day Adventist church a melting pot of diverse cultures and ethnicities
This very deep subject!!! Sadly most segregated part week is Sunday. At end of day we all One, Acts 17:26. We got good churches both sides. We only comfortable most times within own race. I say this when comes social Justice, man my white bros n sistas say most hurtful n crazy stuff behind closed doors. I in a fb group n was shocked by comments. Man church has long way to go, race issues is divider from the devil. I pray love one another not just public but in secret too!!! Last Days
I've visited a two white churches before the pandemic, the first one was pretty solid. The second one wasn't such a good experience as I entered the sanctuary the usher referred to me as "you people" twice, once as she was escorting me to my seat and the second time was when she asked if "you people" would move closer to the front. Which was weird because i attended the church by myself. I had to ask her if she saw more than one person sitting next to me? I held out my hand to shake hers and told her my name; her response was.. "That's fine..." Okay girl, Deuce's ✌️& God bless.
I hear you but remember to pick your battles carefully and wisely. Allow others to make a mistake without trying to check them. I don’t get offended with you people saying. We are triggered by this because we have been taught not by God but the world. In other words meet people where they are.
I found this video from this brother to be a mixed bag. Some of it I agree with, some of it I find problematic. First of all, he implies that more white people don’t attend black churches because of the perception that black churches are in crime-ridden neighborhoods and white churches are in “safe” neighborhoods which is not always the case. That kind of talk perpetuates racial stereotypes and it’s troubling to see a black person do that. Second, he seems to put the blame on black people for the lack of racial reconciliation. Well, in my experience, black Christians and white Christians tend to have differing concepts of what that means. For the former, the term indicates that both faith traditions of each culture will be treated with equal validity and worth. For the latter, it seems that the term carries with it the notion of assimilation. Third, he played this clip of this brother who said that said he stopped attending black churches and started attended a “mixed” church because he didn’t know of any black pastors who were “on their knees” lamenting that there weren’t more white people in their congregations. Well, I would love for more white people to attend my church. However, there is a historical reason why many black pastors may not be making as great a push to have more white people in their church. Historically, black churches have been a safe haven for black people from the overt racism they experienced daily. In the black churches where black adults were treated with dignity and called “Mr.” and “Mrs.”, as opposed to being called “boy” and “gal” by other adults. And then, if a black person went to the white church across the tracks, that could literally be suicide because they might be killed. I could go on with the issues I have, but I think I’ll leave it there.
A well thought out and historically accurate statement. It is difficult to address what is being presented without looking at the layers. When we take only a surface view we tend to only reply with superficial self satisfaction. As I stated earlier some things are more cultural than they are racial.
Let’s be honest… this has been happening for years. As a Pastor whose Church is NOT in the rough part of my city. We pray and seek for diversity and I am grateful for what we have seen but not ignorant enough to ignore the subconscious racial challenge.
Thank you for being aware, I will not say Jamal Bryant doesn't have a point. I believe there is still a lot of mistrust between the races within the body of Christ.
I've been going to a diverse church my whole life. That exposure promotes comfort with all people. What he said is wrong just because he doesn't go to one. Anyone that give a definite that all white/black people will or will not do, etc, they dont know what they are talking about. Stay on one side and you only will see one side.
Any, and I mean ANY, so-called pastor/minister purporting this divide does not truly know God nor has a firm understanding of “love your neighbor as yourself.” This is textbook separatism and racism to the core. The devil manipulates, divides, and conquers. You’d be wise to avoid or leave ANY so-called ministry such as this. Do not walk. Run.🏃🏿♂️➡️🏃🏼➡️🏃🏽♀️➡️🏃🏽♀️➡️🏃🏻♀️➡️
Race doesn’t matter to God. Jesus came to save all races and wants us all to fellowship in love ❤️. The body of Christ is made up of all races 😀👧🏽🧔🏼♂️👩🏿🧔🏻♂️🧓🏻👩🏻🦰👴🏽.
Fixation on race is such a superficial way to view humanity, those that can't rise above this disingenuous surface level world view are going to be left behind..
Jesse Woo, in my opinion is not a born again Christian! She had a problem with Pastor Kevin Henderson bcuz a part of his sermon was Haiti and who they worship & how their religion came about. Just by the things she says, makes me know that what he spoke abt is Truth! Jamal Bryant makes it look like being in church is a tit for tat situation. This may be one reason why some non believers feel just that. Church is not about me or you, it’s abt Jesus! Everyone must read MATTHEW 7:15 (Beware of false prophets) ST MATTHEW 7:21-23 (Not everyone that says, Lord Lord will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven).
Voddie - I believe in racial reconciliation... Also Voddie - don't preach anything about race, "wokeness" is a sin, Only preach Christ crucified, black pastors aren't upset about not having white people in their church (one yes they are but also WHY VODDIE... WHY??? Because of segregation, but Voddie doesn't want to bring up historical issues regarding race).
Jamal Bryant never disappoints us with his ignorance. My church is diverse. Its predominately black but we definitely have white members. Our pastor is black.
The fact that you call a practice “foolish” that’s seen & encouraged in scripture blows my mind. Dancing for the Lord is cultural, biblical & holy. If you can’t dance just say that lol. I will not advocate for the fraternity stepping, that should be condemned. As far as the singing is concerned black people riff & run all the time. It’s apart of our culture! For an example I go to a white church & im riffing all the time when we sing. Why? Because that is how I learned to sing. Listening to the oldies at home with family, hearing the saints sing at black church growing up & from friends. You can’t just assume the motives of all black people that’s not charitable.
