I just got mine today, but I've only made one cup so far. [update on cup 2 below]. They are correct that you don't want to press the plunger too hard or fast. The water came through the k-cup a bit too fast so the coffee was a bit weak but still tasted good. Next one I'll be a little more careful. You can also use it like a pour-over drip make as well, since the hot water will start flowing right away. They say you can also make cold press coffee as well. Just did second cup. I didn't even use the plunger right away and it was coming out about the same speed as my regular k-cup maker. I added the plunger and was able to get the rest of the water out. This cup was as good as the regular Keurig maker. I will use this on business trips because I don't like the usual hotel room coffee and now can bring my own k-cups. You can fit three k-cup pods inside the plunger for travel. Note- as I think it was mentioned, do not try to pull the plunger out once you start. The plunger makes such a good seal in the cylinder it will suck grounds up out of the k-cup and back into the cylinder. It's not a big problem but will need a little more cleaning.

That's a great gadget. I'm sure your mom will love it. Did your mom lose power for all those days? I hope not. We had a lot of people lose power on the other side of town for a week and once it was fixed, another storm hit a day later and they were out for another 3 days. You couldn't find one candle in the stores. It was really bad.
