Kid seems like he is well structured, helps you out, sounds well mannered, I don't get why everyone is getting so tight lol. Almost all of us are kids who are we to say what is bad parenting and what is not. Your kid is gonna be kick ass.
Yea I'm at the end of the video almost and the fact that your older son can handle a knife and know when it's safe knows if he's ready or not is amazing. Nice.
Love how people be calling this guy an amature or however you bloody spell it, but this man was fully in the army and knows more about blades than most people who just use a basic intense Google search to find out the same info and choose to believe whatever the internet says, nothing against people having their own opinions but just saying it may be wise not to tell s man who had to learn all of this stuff he's wrong because you saw a dude fake some Damascus steel knife and sell it online for s ridiculous amount
I have an answer to your balisong question but it is kinda long. The reason the balisong or the butterfly knife from csgo did not close in the open position is because of the latch. That type of latch is called a spring latch and it is made to keep the blade from hitting the latch when doing tricks. The spring is too weak to close it in the open position and does not lock well. However the one you recieved in the blade city box the bear and sons one is what is called a t latch. There is no spring so it is very free flowing and moving around while the spring latch keeps the latch stiff. Hopefully you found this helpful. Some spring latch may close in the open position. The blade could hit the t latch while flipping and may dull or mess up the blade so usually spring latch is better. Hopefully you found this helpful
Papa Arcichella & Cool Potato yeah I hear you guys. That’s more reason to have a knife in my opinion. I would want something to defend myself with given your country’s violent crime rate. It’s sad that responsible people can’t have a basic tool that constantly proves useful. Being a teenager myself, I hate how the issue is portrayed for people my age. They act as though the only reason a teenager might want a knife is to kill someone, and it creates a stigma against a very basic tool. The same is true in my country with the public school system. It is made to seem like only an insane person, hellbent on doing harm would want a pocket knife. It’s really sad that such a basic, and classic tool has such a negative connotation to its name.
Cool Dude wow well said I’m also a teenager and feel the exact same way and there’s no reason why a Balisong or an otf should be more illegal than a normal folder
First off thank you for you're service & God Bless! You're vids are awesome, great content and usally really informative. Although they can be a bit lengthy you are good at not being a boring RU-vidrs. Keep up the killer vids.
I have that Bear & Sons and good solid fun knife not top of the line but I love mine to flip. I have the damascus version. Had it for about 15 years. The Teflon coating holds up nice.
Late to the party, but I bought two Bear and Sons knives at this years blade show in Ga. One was a balisong and it is the best butterfly knife I own. And I do carry it regularly as a purely utility knife.
if you have a hard time with the latch on a butterfly knife when its opened and you want to secure it , a lot of times its simply just squeeze the handles and then the latch will fall into the groove
Hey man im a new follower. i just started getting into knives a lot more and appreciating them. your vids are entertaining to watch and im 100% jealous of the knives you get. plz keep posting an showing me all these knives. Thank you so much
Just one thing about that custom OTF. Don't break the spring inside, or you'll wind up with an illegal "gravity" knife. A "gravity" knife's blade is operated when you swing the knife, and centrifugal force causes the blade to act as a locked knife.
And since I KNOW someone will say something "Hey you said anything you get as a sample will be part of a giveaway", the Deadpool knife is part of a giveaway, a giveaway to his wife. Those of your without wives simply won't understand. Don't argue it, just let it happen.
Not sure if anyone told you this. But on a otf. When you fail the deployment just pull the blade out untill it clicks. You will feel resistance. That's why it worked when you slung it
I see all these comments about legality, but it really just depends on where you live. In texas, legally, you can carry a sword if you dont mind all the extra attention. I carry my OTF as an EDC.
I had a friend that put one of these in his pocket..n..forgot to turn it off with the bottom button...but we were standing in subways parking lot..in the middle of the city...we were getting in the car..n..i heard it snapping when he was half way in the car...he froze solid..lol...n..hit the corner of the seat...n..hit the ground..froze...i was about to get it because i knew what was happening when i heard it cracking..but he got it out of his pocket...n..was so out of breath..he could barely say..that hurt lile hell..n..was just laying in the middle of the parking lot....
Also when steel is heated to forge temperatures you get "carbon migration"; the carbon moves from higher to lower concentration areas. When you fold it 9 times you get 512 layers but they are so thin the carbon would be uniform through out
First time I’ve watched one of your videos and just wanted to say in the first minute you impressed me. It’s just cool to me when a man can admit his errors and it just seems like it’s so hard for people to do. This comment probably seems weird but I just like encouraging behavior that all men should strive for.
hey doc, just found you, gotta say I love seeing you open up those boxes, one thing about those "butterfly knives" I used to know a navy vet who was at subic bay during the nam. he had about ten of them, he got them from the fishermen, some of the blades didn't lock, and some did. I think it really just depended on the original owners choice.
From a Balisong flipper. And from a person who flipped a bear and sons Balisong. I have to say they’re garbage. They use the tang pin material as stainless and the handles as zinc. Zinc is a softer metal than stainless so over time from the handles hitting the tang pin it’ll bend and ware the metal down and the handles will touch and they’re pin construction so meaning there’s no screws so handle play with be a factor in it. If you want a cheap Balisong from 130 dollars and sometimes lower if luck go through and find a Bradley kimura series. They’re not made anymore worth getting
Unless you have a good bit of cash and have some time to wait. In the end of this month BRS blade runners systems will be dropping their Alpha beast full titanium its like 360 dollars I think and next month will be there Replicant drop with g10 handles and titanium liners its 270 dollars.
Naos Chaos Glad they're doing an AB drop. It seems like it's been forever since the last AB drop, they've been dropping a lot of reps and bbs recently. (and of course when they finally decide to do an AB drop I don't have any money...rip)
Im honestly glad i didnt talk shit about you based off the first video i saw of yours. To start you seem like a great fucking dad and second. I love your channel
Just stumbled on to this video, you did a nice job on the video. That’s some pretty cool stuff in that box too. I went to the Blade City website, they have some REALLY COOL and wild stuff on there. I’m sure I’ll be buying something soon. That’s again, I’ll hit the line and subscribe buttons!
I don't mean to be a smart ass but in terms of balisongs, if the latch closes when it's open, it usually means it's too loose (this being because there tends to be more space between the handles when it's open than when it's closed) and having a clip on it would throw off ability to flip it (it could throw off balance and it just generally petrudes off the handle which can be uncomfortable). Again, not trying to be a smartass, I just wanted to let you know :)
It takes a team of highly trained and reputable surgeons to patch a small hole from that. If you think that's nasty, look at the WASP Injector. There's not much chance of surviving a stab from that.
Yokemon The cyclone is the second or third most dangerous if my memory serves me, it's a very nice knife. I got one back when I was eleven or so and I loved it. About two years later I found out it was illegal, melted it down and turned it into a bowie.
Hey doc I am now a cerakote applicator and have been for a couple months I painted cars befor but have always been into guns and now I'm working on becoming a gun Smith and learning more about the application and use of cerakote and I build ars for a living under the tutelage of the owner of the shop I work for
I ordered a Spartan sword from the Combat Commander series and it's amazing I carry it everywhere even in town, it's not illegal to carry a sword so y not
Didn’t feel like the review needed to take that long. Was able to skip chunks without the fear of missing something. Short and to the point on your reviews with a couple glam snapshots adding up to 12min at the most and... you’re good
24:58 ik he wasn't that close to the blade but OH MAH GAWD WHEN THAT CHILD CAME CLOSER TO THE KNIFE WHEN U PUSHED THE BLADE OUT MY HEART FELL OUT MY ASS🙊
Trench knife was the most solid and practical, followed by the the stun gun. The triblade is more of a collectors item. The cleaver is durable but probably wouldnt be the most comfortable for edc.As for stilettos they were mainly based for self defence hence the stabbing type blade but most wear down quick if used for edc and the thin blade isnt reliable for anything practical. Otfs in general have blade play and arent reliable for edc in the long term. However the balisong was cheaply made, the pins arent rescrewable which means once it loosens the whole knife is done. Bear and son in general isnt a good butterfly knife maker you could find better on wish. Honestly if his kids csgo bali was sharpened it would prove to be more reliable. Hope this helped.
Stiletto knives just SCREAM that "scumbag greaser who grabbed you by the collar, and is waving the blade in front of your face and threatening to kill you" cliché.
The combat commander trench knife uses the same handle on a sword. Unfortunately the knuckle gaurds don't work well on a sword and hurt to swing so I had to cut one off. Decent sword one of my favorites
