Excellent comparison! The 1845 is my favourite pattern sword - being primarily a mid-Victorianist I didn’t know much about the 1892 pattern. Thanks for making these and keep them coming!
Thanks! Yes, I really like it a lot too for its all around great design an performance. While it's similar to many other nations' blades of its time (and even before), the overall design and detailing on Victorian British infantry swords is my favourite. Thanks for the support!

I have a very similar 1845 with straight blade and heavier than average guard. Mine retailed by Hobson and almost certainly made by Pillin. Approximately 1890 from memory. What are the etchings on yours?
