rryxx serena can be a good character but she doesn’t really change as much as blair does and like everyone else she has her bad moments but i adore blair more
I was still so disappointed she didn't get a good career start in the show, she had all the qualities of a good businesswoman. Yes she lacked tact sometimes but she was smart, ambitious, fierce and unlike Serena very loyal.
Uncommon opinion: Blaire is better than Serena and has a better love story and love arc and character arc and love interest *Dang I’ve never gotten so many likes or comments before 😅
Erin Silva i feel like the show itself made Serena the “best” when in the end Blair was always better. I’ll admit I thot Serena was my favorite until Blair stoke my heart
Riverdale writers thought they could create another Blair Waldorf with Veronica but instead just created another one of her minions in a different show💀
the difference between blair and all the other mean girl characters now is that, blair is actually tasteful, smart, cunning, and knowledgeable. a little sanctimonious, but breaks her own rules from time to time. her pride and competitiveness gets her in trouble most of the time, but that's the spice to her character. blair believes she is the best, but she can be insecure at times and that insecurity motivates her. blair wasn't being mean just to be mean. for short, blair had character depth. also, if you pay attention, her lines/dialogue in the show were actually very well written. in this essay i will - -
I know this is an old comment, but I also wanted to point out that the show held her accountable for the times she crossed the line. Sometimes the other characters (Serena, for example) would do bad things, but they wouldn't get punished the way she was - in my opinion, it makes her character more likeable.
I don’t think anyone can come close to Blair. She and Chuck were the only reason why I watched GG. Not to mention she has a classic glamorous Hollywood beauty aura.
I recently watched gossip girl (after I watched river dale) and realized how hard Betty was Serena, dating loner boy but also having a thing with popular boy Archie/Nate) Veronica was (trying) to be Blair, (down to the clothes and the language) DAN and JUGHEAD, right down to loner boy, and dating the popular girl but liking loner boy more) similarities, Archie and Nate were so similar it’s crazy, (dating teacher who had a husband, family problems, mom coming back) and chuck was , well chuck Clayton. like how hard was riverdale trying to be gossip girl?
@@alexiarosalia yeah, but Betty is obviously not popular and eye-catching as Serena. And she'll never can😂. Chuck's knock-off is absent. Clayton is not like him. So, they took characters from Archie Comics, but some lines are similar, it's clear
I don't know how she manages to do so, but she is so iconic and pleasant at times, and sometimes she just tires the hell out of me by acting like a spoiled 14-year-old.
Blair is the single reason why this show kept its burning charisma. I love it when she plans her manipulative schemes and the lovely Dorota is always there to help.
I miss Gossip Girl sooooo much, it smashes Pretty little liars, 90210 and especially Riverdale out the park for teen dramas. I'm not even a teen, I just love this types of shows! 🙈
@@eleanorgouldie9355 you can blame the writers for that LOL they wanted to keep Chuck Bass as a villain but ended up changing their minds cause the chemistry between Leighton and Ed inspired them for the Chair ship
If we’re gonna be comparing GG to rIverDale, let me point something out Both shows have a plot line where the nice blonde girl falls in love with a poor writer, and they find that their parents used to date. And that they share a half brother. Like, whoa.

Something I really liked about gossip girl is that Blaire wasn't just your stereotypical mean girl and that she opened up about her feelings to Serena and she is also absolutely hilarious
