Questions are by far the biggest threat to any organized religion. This is why it's so very important for them to "teach" kids when they're young, and then shelter them in a faith bubble where they won't be exposed to hard questions until the indoctrination has had time to cement itself and become part of a person's identity, rather than just something they believe. When something becomes part of your identity, you cling to it and vehemently oppose any challenge to the ideas. Because at that point,questions or criticisms don't feel like questions or criticisms about the idea... They feel like questions or criticisms about YOU. It's been scientifically tested and verified that people cling harder to a central belief when challenged on it. Giving facts or logic to someone who's made an identity their personality doesn't sway them. It makes them dig in even harder. So get em young before they can even imagine the right questions to ask.. so that later in life when the questions inevitably come up, they'll already be in too deep.

I don't know how good people who happen to be Christians can watch people like Mike Winger and not feel scummy and in need of a hot shower. One of the cracks that started my journey was seeing the qualiyy of the charlatans "defending" my faith.

Yeah, I think, most of us experienced something like this. Back when I was a Christian, I thought he didn‘t give me a clear message because he didn‘t have anything to say or said it in a different way, more „undercover“. But when you struggle with your believe and you don‘t get any sign from god, then this can really destroy your faith.

Brilliant. For me (despite every other solid argument), if there is a god, why is he so hidden? Why wouldn't he be more clear? The existence of UFO's is honestly more clear. And if you knew people like anyone else on the planet does, god could show himself in the sky with a clear message, and a certain percentage of the population would still not believe. So theres no loss to god doing that. And yet, here we are. We'd honestly be better off worshipping the sun. At least its real.

The absurd "free will" response in this context fails for the following reasons: 1) According to the Bible everyone knows God exists - 2) According to professional liars such as Mike Whinger, atheists know God exists 3) According to professional liars such as Ray Comfort, everyone with functional sight can see the undeniable evidence of the God that everyone already know exists. 4) Despite number 1... God instructed people to run around telling everyone about Jesus/God, and failed to mention that it was in any way important or relevant, that they have a care about what anyone they're preaching at, wills or wants/ doesn't want to hear/ know. I don’t really want to be anti-theistic, but it’s principles like that from Christianity that make it hard not to be. It poisons any conversations it’s adherents ever have with someone who disagrees with them - because they fundamentally don’t believe any disagreement is actually being had, just deception. Anyone who inherently enters conversations assuming everyone else either agrees with them before the conversation starts or will be necessarily deceitful just shouldn’t be allowed in civilized conversations.

I remember in one video, Mike says that when he encounters a difficult question about Christianity, he chooses to trust God rather than his own logic. Then he is usually able to find an answer later, but even if he can't, he'll trust God. When I was a Christian this made perfect sense. After all, God knows so much more than we do. But now that I'm thinking about it, this just amplifies confirmation bias to the max.

Boy, I hope YT is RU-vid and not Youth Television. Getting’ old. I’ve believe I’ve watch Zod ‘s videos since he started producing RU-vid videos. I have never been subscribed to Zod’s channel until recently. Better double check that again now! I don’t know what you mean by, no videos in my home feed. I don’t like of favourite many videos. Is that what you mean? I think if the amount of RU-vid videos I watch showed up in a list, the list might be called: Time for a break!

My point earlier on is that if you're not subbed to a YT channel, that means no post notifications. So you'd have to depend on two things: search out videos from that channel yourself and get a video from that channel in your home feed. Since you've been watching fod years, either or both of those should have kept happening throughout the years, which seems rly unlikely to me.

Remember, mike starts off claiming "God is hidden" is a claim God has failed, but then wants to make it the ATHEIST who failed when God hides. So he's saying God is powerless, only humans have power, and can beat God at everything. Personally, I'd just say to this kind of christian "There is no God, and a non-existent God can't talk to you, so it wasn't God you heard, it was the same fiction internal voice that every other non-christian religion hears.".
