Ever since I heard Jackie sing those few bars of "Poker Face" at her concert with David Foster at the Mandalay Bay, I knew that she could sing whatever she wants to, however she wants to - and well. And she is. Thanks for this great vid! 'Hope you're doing well.

Singing this song really showcases the power in her voice that is just waiting in the wings. When she was 10, the singing that she did on Dream With Me was a soprano range, but as a 10 year old those notes were right in her 'power band'. Now that she’s older, her power band has dropped with her voice but her ability to sing the soprano is still there and also stronger. This is only going to get better and better! Buckle up!
I like it. From this song, it doesn't take much imagination what she could do with mainstream (pop) music. And that would probably be bad news for the current pop singer, especially the young ones. That someone would come along to sing pop and actually have a voice. The nerve.

AWESOME! I loved it. Not really fair to compare this with the CC pieces. Too different. Too bad some are critical of this performance. It was actually very good. Versatility is a wonderful and difficult facet to Jackie's formidable talents.
Too many people think they know what Jackie should be doing.I thought she did a great job on this song. Too many people think they know who is making all the decisions about her career. Some people here think they know way more than they do. And making whole paragraph statements
So this was an excellent pop song to choose, and done very well......and Taylor Swift won an Grammy for it! Jackie's rendition with the acoustic guitarist in another video could have won the award for a cover of the song!
@ 2:36 the audience LIKES IT!!...And she's just warmin' up..or rather she's warmin' up the audience, and they start getting into her new sound! Frankly, I like her version much better than Taylor Swift's(didn't JEM write this!), even substituting her vid for JEM's stage!!
Listening to Jackie sing "Blank Space" is like watching Michael do simple lay-ups ignoring mind blowing dunks. Compare the magic in "Angel" vs. this song. There are a large number of 'Pop" songs that lend better to her voice and phrasing, which she showed with "Memories" which was simply transportive.
Fast popsongs amuses but dont fit her phenomenal voice. I wait for pop-ballads or, the next step, rock-ballads. Her voice is now strong enough to beam over a rockguitar.
That's called " IDIOSYNCRATIC BEHAVIOR," Jackie proberbly doesn't even know that she is doing it as she has done it from the very beginning, I find it quite cute.
This is the modern time of incredible mass confusion. This is a pop tune. Most of the songs Jackie has done is pop music. This song is good example of a none melodic fragmented song that no singer can save. I played the Taylor Swift version, with lyrics, and she couldn't pull it off. The sound quality, of this video, was poor due to a variety of possible reasons. The higher frequency range was screechy which was typical of the device that recorded all the songs at this event. It may not have been the fault of the device. Jackie and her handlers (team including her mother) have been searching for ways to market her great skills at singing. To date, she has exhibited two styles of voices. They are the soprano voice, that she has used singing classical and pop music, and her natural voice that she has exhibited when she sang "Go Time". I consider "Go Time" to be her most important achievement in the past year because it exhibited her ability to sing light rock music, display emotions that she has been discouraged from displaying, was supported by very talented musicians, was well produced and, most of all, SHE VERY MUCH ENJOYED DOING IT. Success in the genre of upbeat pop and light rock is the ONLY WAY she can attain her dream of becoming SUPER FAMOUS in the entertainment world. JE and her TEAM should be applauded for experimenting with having JE push to find new skills when using her voice. I suspect a third voice will emerge, as she matures, that will serve her pop and light rock music ventures. Presently, JE is very naïve, suffering the effects of the teen doldrums and should proceed cautiously when attempting to contribute to the decision making processes concerning her future. It is the random quality, of the people that constitutes her TEAM and her ability to provide what they want that will determine her future success. The need for training in basic dancing and, also, training in mixed martial arts should be started. I think she would enjoy the later a lot. At some time in the distance future, but not now, she should evaluate what each member of her TEAM has provided, for her success, and have confidence to make any adjustments that she feels is needed. Do respect MOM. Update: Jackie has just done a studio version of the song "Blank Space" and I enjoy it very much. The third voice has arrived sooner than I expected. ***** A lot can happen over three years. Very little may happen over three years. It's certain that she will physically grow. How she will grow mentally is yet to be determined. She has been very protected emotionally during the past years. Many forces will be coming at her during the future years and, like the rest of us, she will end up having a combination of good and bad qualities. I hope the end results will be that she is HAPPY.

I once posted a response to a fan club member on her web page before it was closed, "I support Jackie by purchasing her music and tickets to any shows I can attend but that does NOT give me automatic inclusion into her world". Why don't you go to her parents with your suggestions? "Evaluate what each member of her TEAM has provided", of all the gall, geez!!!! Why don't you tell Jackie to just fire them all and hire someone who suites her better. And then you add, "do respect mom" as an after thought. I know you love and support Jackie but this post of yours is very intrusive. I have what I consider a reasonable question. Why do some of Jackie's fans want to micro manage her life? Criticizing Jackie's operations or suggesting ways to improve it has nothing to do with AUTOMATIC inclusion in her world. Only people in her world should decide what they want to be receptive to and what they choose to ignore. I assume HER WORLD monitors reactions to the work she has done. It would be foolish for them not to be doing it. Many people have micro managed Jackie's life since her 7th birthday and this continues on to this day. It is only important to me that Jackie becomes recognized, by the general entertainment community, in the future as being extremely (super) famous because she has often said that is what she drives to be in her future. Lately, she has moved to developing the benefits, as she views them, to feel rewarded about the massive hard work she has been doing for many years. Being super famous, in the future, still reigns number one. She performs for many complex reasons BUT her fans and, more important, potential fans aren't reciprocating as she would like them to do.

The management team they hired does arrange Jackie's concert schedule, may even suggest the songs that Jackie might sing and I am sure , provide other services as well but the last word comes from Jackie and her parents. It is you who stated that Jackie should make adjustments to her team, or in other words, fire her parents. You are making statements as facts as if you are standing next to Jackie and speaking to an assembly of people. The opinions I provide are provided from a huge data base from which I have to extrapolate a reasonable opinion. I will not waste anymore time responding to your BS. One point I've found interesting is my response to her impromptu rendition of the song "Blank Page" that this video represents. I considered it a flawed song that no singer could save. I was wrong. It is performed in a genre of music called electro pop. It has a quasi - rap feel and that is what many of JE's peers are performing and attaining a great number of fans when doing it. In my initial comment, I indicated JE should and will find a third voice in the near future. That future is NOW. What should show up on YT? A bold studio production of "Blank Page" sung by JE in a manner that even her graying fans may support and purchase. I think the boom boom community will also like it. There will be career shift for Jackie BUT I don't see a complete abandonment of what she has done. I do see greater marketing efforts for her NEW STYLE and less for her OLD STYLE of performances. This is my OPINION and so it WILL BE. I have much more to say about this topic in the near future. I will delicately convey my OPINIONS to her handlers (team) and will not charge them a penny if they choose to use some of it.
Jackie has the voice for pop but she has to learn to have an edge to singing songs like this .. of anger and hurt. That requires a "belt voice" more than a head voice or even a chest voice. She sings so naturally pure and clear that it's hard for her to do this well until she learns to completely let go and snarl out some lyrics. There are a lot of pop songs that would greatly benefit more from her classical voice than "Blank Space." Many "pop" songs are in the vein of ballads and she could knock those out of the park. For instance, she would do great with Carrie Underwood's "Something in the Water" whereas, I can't imagine her even doing justice to Miranda Lambert's "Gunpowder and Lead." I'd love to hear her rendition of "Somewhere Only We Know;" a song of longing and poignancy that her emotional connection to the music would make it shimmer. DocDLH It will be long time before we hear Jackie 'belt' or 'snarl', if ever. She won't risk damaging that golden voice of hers. 'Blank Space' is something Jackie did to be playful and treat the audience to a surprise, but these kinds of songs are not her major moneymakers. Still, I thought it sounded fine. But there's no way she's going to do a full album or concert of this kind of material.
This is great, but I'd really like her to take on a rock -- wait, no, she did With or Without You. Okay, well, maybe country -- wait, is Angels country? And she's done pop....rap, maybe? Something from Pink or Eve? I think that's the only genre she hasn't done.
That beautiful bel canto voice sounds a bit out of place doing pop; but hey, she's 15 and has already conquered the planet, we gotta let her diddle around hither and thither. See where she goes. She is one of the most loved beings on the planet.

To each his own. Love it when Jackie spreads her wings and shows just how versatile she is, and how she can sing just about anything. Also love it when she reminds us how young she is by enjoying singing songs that other young people enjoy also. Glad when she sings what she is in the mood to sing, not just what older fans want to hear. BTW, I am an older fan, and I love these songs as well as what she is "expected" to sing. And she wasn't rushing, she was singing the song as it was supposed to be done. Sounds like the audience enjoyed the performance.
Lets try it this way. Pop singers have a BEER voice, and Jackie's voice is like a fine wine. She can sing it, but never with a BEER voice, and I would never want to hear her try. She needs to just do them for fun, but keep popping out those awesome classical songs.
pickin4you Exactly. When Jackie sings pop, she avoids the 'belting' or 'fried voice' that other pop singers use. This is to preserve her prime moneymaker, the golden voice that sings classical. Jackie is showing that she can be relied on as a go-to singer for most occasions. Besides her own concerts, she has done weddings, Cirque du Soleil, charitable fundraisers, patriotic events and a Christmas Tree Lighting on the White House lawn, just to name a few. Just a few days ago she sang a duet with Andrea Bocelli in Bangkok, Thailand. Jackie is not a one-trick pony; she can also be endearingly playful, and that is why her career will be long and distinguished.
The most important thing is for people to continue to support Jackie's efforts by purchasing her CDs and DVDs and concert tickets. Her newest DVD is Live: Awakening in Concert at Longwood Gardens with two bonus tracks not seen on the PBS broadcasts. It is available for pre-order at Amazon and will be out June 2. Wonderful performances by Jackie; my copy is on the way! :)
Such a good song. Not a big fan of Taylor swift version. In my opinion Jackie Evancho does it better then Taylor swift. Jackie Evancho voice seems really powerful and strong in this song which is a good thing.
