Blaque 🌙 A Girl Group Retrospective 

I loved blaque's style it was equal parts anime , and futuristic I think they looked like real life Bratz dolls .

I loved Blaque so much I even did their song Rainbow Drive for the talent show in elementary school 😂

Even if Torch wasn't their best piece of work, I'm glad it was still released in its entirety. Hopefully Private Show will surface as well (although I don't know how much was recorded for it) On a slightly related note, allegedly I heard that the unreleased 3LW albums might be put on streaming soon!

I think Blaque is still able to use the name Blaque Ivory outside the US. Or at least they were; not sure if they still do. 😄🤷🏿‍♂️ Great video btw; I had a feeling that Blaque would be the next topic, and I still watch the heck out of your Dream, Play, and Missy Elliott videos! Thank you for this video. Sometimes I think Blaque was one of those rare girl groups that, we’re it not for a string of unfortunate events and label mishandling, couldve ruled the world. It’s a rarity to see black girl pop groups, and I’m happy to see that their legacy is such a strong one. I’m gonna listen to their discography right now!!!

You just earned a subscriber. I wasn't even alive when they first hit the scene in the late 90's, so I've longed for a retrospective as in depth as this for a short while. And my word, this exceeded my expectations. Quite a bit of stuff I knew already just from being a fan for a few years, and other stuff I had no idea about. Thank you for making this video. Ever since I became a fan, I've felt they were incredibly underrated and they deserved a lot better, both in and outside of the group. I'm off to watch your other vids now, of course I know Missy, but haven't heard much of Play or Dream beyond 1 or 2 songs I liked. But you spoke so eloquently in this vid, so I'm sure those will be great too! Thanks again for making this, you're so awesome! :)

They were on the run to be huge, that's why Mathew Knowles got rid of them - as he thought they'd be competition to Destiny's Child. I'd say their debut album is one of the best albums of all time.

Epic records couldn't find the right sound for pyt their sound was all over the place one minute the label wanted pop then they wanted urban pop.
