I'm LGBT (transgender), and not Christian, but I still think it is utterly revolting, and the idea that it wasn't deliberately written to profane Christ & the Christian faith is utterly laughable. It's very telling that this program deliberately omits almost the entirety of the poem from its script - the jury in the real trial would have been given copies to read, hence why nobody should be surprised that they deemed it blasphemous. @@whocrusader5179 But how would she have even known that there was a poem that she would have categorized as being *blasphemous* in the first place? And is it even factually true that it is. You can't prove without a shadow of a doubt that Jesus was indeed the messiah and within the context of the poem and it's intent, that it was somehow disrespectful of him. And even if he for the sake of opposing a *powerful* part of religion who was Whitehouse or anyone else for that matter to deny him the right to do so. It's called freedom of expression and to quell it was an act of oppression by a woman who was nothing more than a glorified fascist.

Secondly it never actually went to trial and was only a police investigation. And finally the investigation was thrown out after the Garda failed to find a "substantial number of outraged people".. Which I think proves my point about Blasphemy being a victimless crime...
