Blazblue story any% WR. Edit: I'm disappointed. Not in Jiyuna, he did amazing. I'm disappointed in myself and how much I know about this story. At least he mentioned the most important part of the lore, Azrael dropkicking through dimensions.

Tldr, Ragna is super important and his existence messes things up. He's a walking ill omen, and everyone wants to kill him(team fuck ragna, in both ways). Almost every teenage looking female character with normal breasts is probably ragna's sister. Not celica though, she's ragna's adoptive mom. A bunch of characters want to destroy the world in different ways, and some want to save it. But it all revolves around ragna. Also hakumen is jin from the future who traveled back in time to steal the susanoo armor from terumi and weaken him, he and the six heroes killed the black beast, which is what happens when you fuse ragna and one of his many sister clones. Also the gods are toying with the plot, which is why nothing ever makes sense, and we eventually use the power of naoto the bloodedge to delete ragna the bloodedge which solves everything.

Blazblue Story for dummies: - humans discover the susanooh unit by digging a hole to the god dimension. - Terumi who is the soul of the susanooh unit leaves it and teaches god stuff to humans. - humans want to manipulate time and space and everything so they look for the sister of susannoh, god amaterasu deeper in the god dimension. - to make contact with amaterasu, they create the first prime field device, evangelion cute robot girl called the Origin - the girl is contaminated by god amaterasu, gets amaterasu's god powers, and self awareness and now she can control humans, create, destroy, erase timelines, rewrite history,etc - humans are naturally afraid that a little girl can decide to end them whenever it wants so they use the data she came with to create their own god machine Takamagara and want to get rid of natural god amaterasu. - They discard the origin mech girl back in the god dimension where she fuses with god amaterasu, meanwhile humans proceed to eliminate all other evangelion meca girls who were infected by the origin girl and gained the same god powers and awareness. Mecha girls are too strong for humans so they summon the black beast who will nuke the world, humans dont care since they can use their own god to rewrite history where they never created the girls and still have the artificial god. However before they could recreate the world, the origin girl created a copy of the Base world that was just destroyed, this is the world of blazblue. - Now the first event of the world of Blazblue is the appearance of the blazblue black beast which is not the same black beast that appeared in the base world. VERY IMPORTANT to remember - There"s a war against the Blazblue black beast, and six warriors kill it - Years later an unknown person creates another mecha robot girl and breeds her with the remains of the blazblue black beast (possibly tentacles h*ntai shit) for some time and they give birth to three beautiful green eye blonde children, Ragna (MC), Jin and Saya (incarnation of the Origin mecha girl who created the blazblue world. Maybe she's getting bored up there and wants to experience a normal life too) - The children are rescued by one of the six warriors and a nun takes care of them. They live a happy life. - one day , Terumi, the spirit of God Susanooh comes and makes jin become crazy. Jin fatally wound ragna and Terumi abducts saya - Rachel a Vampire gives a special power to Ragna that keeps him alive. If he uses that power too much and loses control, he will become a black beast. - Ragna gets trained by the hero that rescued him and when he's ready, he starts attacking the government forces because they keep creating mecha girls cloned from his sister. - Now, a nice girl named noel, who is also a clone of Ragna's sister (she doesnt know it) is investigating what's going on with this evil ragna guy - When Ragna goes in a government base he fight another mecha clone of his sister they stab each other and the clone falls with Ragna in the god dimension mentioned earlier - Ragna loses control of his power, he falls in the past and becomes the Blazblue black beast that starts the world of Blazblue created by the Origin Girl - Before this happens, the artificial god tries to prevent it and fires a beam that kills ragna. The story of Blazblue is the story of Ragna and different character trying to stop the loops and getting everything back to normal or change the world how they see fit.

Hakumen is Jin in the susanoo armor which was originally one of the 3 sankishin units. -The "royal knights" is actual the NOL / novus orbis librarium that uses a shitty form of magic called "ars magus" -Platinum technically wasn't one of the six heroes. Platinum is an embryo that possesses 3 souls which are Luna Sena and Trinity Glassfille. Trinity Glassfille was one of the members of the six heroes that got tossed into the boundary by Terumi once he was free from Nine's mind eater spell. -Saya was Ragna's sister. Izanami possesses Saya's original body as a vessel, and the rest of the murakumos (mu-12 / noel vermillion, nu-13, lambda-11) are clones of Saya. Idfk how the origin and izanami are separate, this is blazblue nothing makes sense. -Azrael wants to kill Kokonoe for some reason -Sector 7 is basically the polar opposite and enemy to the NOL using science instead of bootleg magic -The "kingdom" bang was in is the hierarchical city of Ikaruga, which was destroyed by the NOL using Takemikazuchi, a nox nyctores like yukianesa. -Arakune is Litchi's old husband(?) that got mad greedy and wanted some azure power but instead he stepped into the boundary and turned into a goopy mess. -Celica was the nun that took care of Saya, Ragna, and Jin. She was killed by Terumi. The reason she's in the game as a playable character is because Kokonoe took her from the past and used her seithr-blocking powers to act as a catalyst for Kushinada's Lynchpin, which is a whole other story of its own. Characters that were left out: -Es, Mai, Naoto are the side-story pseudo-guest characters. Naoto is the AU ragna, Es is the guardian of the gate with a long backstory with Celica and Nine and is also a prime field device like the murakumos but is NOT a clone of Saya, and Mai is a walking grimoire that was formerly a dude and is friends with Tsubaki Noel and Makoto back at their academy. -Relius Clover is the guy pulling the strings behind everything basically, he did a lot of crazy stuff that i won't list off for the sake of brevity. -Carl Clover is the son of Relius Clover -Taokaka is from the kaka clan and has Jubei DNA -Kagura is the bodyguard officer of Homura (the "real" imperator of the NOL after Izanami). -Hibiki is Kagura's assistant. -Makoto is uh...sexy sandy cheeks? -Amane is from a dance crew and acted as an observer after Rachel. -Rachel is a vampire that posses Tsukuyomi, one of the 3 sankishin. She also gave Ragna his bootleg blazblue power.

The longest 5 minutes I've ever seen.

Jiyuna did a pretty good job describing the plot points and character backstories with the time he was given. The only two corrections that I could spot was that Trinity was one of the six heroes, and not Celica, and the other was that Bullet was never really a member of Sector Seven, and only seemed that way due to the effects caused by the embryo in BlazBlue Central Fiction. I've been so focused on praising BBCF's game play on social media that I rarely talk about the series other selling point which is the visual novel aspect of it. I think the biggest reason for this is because when it comes to fighting games the most important thing to me is how much I enjoy the game play, but since the series story is the topic of this video l"ll explain the several things I liked about it: 1) Character development for many of the cast- One of my biggest problems with fighting games stories is that the characters don't progress throughout the story. For example, up into this point in the Tekken series, Kazuya is STILL a one dimensional villain who will kill anyone who is an obstacle to achieve his goal of world domination , just see Kazuya's Tekken 5 ending where he kills his own grandfather, and laughs like an absolute madman after doing it. Another example is in KOF, where Mai Shiranui's entire character is one who just wants to get married to and get seeded by Andy. However, in BlazBlue we have Ragna, a character who starts out the beginning of the story as a kid who is treated as a lab rat due the unusual circumstances of his birth, with the lab being controlled by an authoritarian government, and after years of torture he finally escapes that lab and makes friends at an orphanage, which should result in him finally having a normal life, only for that life to be shattered when his family is attacked, which results in him being severely injured. These traumatic events happening back to back result in him being an edgelord, since he comes to the conclusion that all the bad things that happened in his life was the result of people in power who would harm the weak to sustain their power. This realization results in him having a cynical view on life, and believes that the "ends justifies the means" is the ultimate truth, and would become a rebel who's goal is to destroy this authoritarian government and would harm anyone who got in his way if he could achieve his goal no matter how morally wrong the action he took was ( in one instance, Ragna destroys a branch of the government of one of the cities it controls knowing full well that this branch helps maintain proper weather in order for the people to live comfortably in, but says "screw it cause my vengeance matters more", and destroys the branch, which results in freezing temperatures which effected peoples life styles in a negative way.) It's only after he meets key figures in the story, where he questions himself and becomes a better person and values the lives of everyone equally. Resulting in a character who is not the same mentally by the end of the series arc. 2) ALL arcade endings and story paths are canon- One of the most frustrating things I have with other fighting games like the earlier Tekken, KOF, and Mortal Kombat games is that typically only one ending was cannon and the rest weren't. Personally, I find this incredibly frustrating, since this method of story telling effectively makes any character development or plot points for that particular character meaningless. However, BlazBlue fixes this problem by making time travel and multiple timelines as part of the main story. This is good thing, since it allows the writers to do practically anything to the characters, even kill them and not have to worry about the consequences of killing a players favorite character, since everything can potentially be reset. What's cool is that even though everything resets at a particular point in time, characters STILL remember these events and are even effected by it, which gives these endings meaning. Examples of this include Ragna's bad ending in BBCS where his azure grimoire goes out of control from him relying on it to much, resulting in Jubei killing him, which results in him dying in Rachel's arms. Another example of this is in Makoto's bad ending where she is literally mind raped by Relius. These things are all canon even if it's not part of the main timeline, since characters still have fragmented memories of such events. Heck, just watch Makoto and Relius intro in BBCP and look how horrified she sounds when seeing him even though in this timeline he hasn't even touched her before. BlazBlue is a fighting game whose story mode doesn't disrespect the players time, since EVERY ending has a purpose and effects the characters in some way. My only real issues with the plot, is that not everyone gets equal character development or closure ( see Azrael and Tao), and that certain characters were clearly shoehorned into the main storyline ( see Mai, Naoto, and Es, who are all from spinoffs) Seriously, you could remove Es from the plot and NOTHING about the story would have changed.

The issue is not that it doesn't make sense, it's just that the way everything is conveyed is very confusing. A lot of things happen, and it takes a while for everything to be explained, and I feel at times there's just _too much_ . This can and will distract you from the actual meat of the plot. However, props to ArcSys for making most characters in the lore playable

for everyone who couldn't follow that, Play the games or watch the anime that recaps the first 2 games with some alterations to events. as to correct some mistakes jiyuna made because the time limit: tsubaki is blind from using her weapon to become izayoi, platinum's 3rd soul "Trinity" is one of the 6 heroes not Celica, Noel, Nu, Lambda are clones of Ragna's sister, Bullet is working solo to find missing squad and wants answers from kokonoe and relius, and mai is an old classmate of noel, tsubaki,makoto and jin. can't wait for GG lore in 5 mins

I'm surprised you didn't mention the meta part, but for those that don't know, Blazblue is basically a huge spiritual successor to Guilty Gear. At the time of the first Blazblue, Arcsys didn't have the rights to Guilty Gear (I think SEGA had them) so the devs made Blazblue as their next Guilty Gear title. There's a bunch of guilty gear nods in the BB series, and some BB character's themes are actually remixes of GG character themes.

The world is stuck in a time loop and the main character Ragna the Bloodedge is the only one that can stop it while dodging everyone that wants to either frick, eat, kill him, or a combination of the three.

correction, Celica actually acted more like Ragna's adoptive mother. She had a thing for him in her younger days after he warped into the past and inadvertently creates a stable time loop to fight the Black Beast, that's also his prosthetic arm, wait where's everyone going I'm not done----

The only reason people think the stories hard to follow is cause the 1st game had this weird arcade story mode. Where you'd choose between 2 charas to fight. But you had to choose who to fight based on what the person you're playing as wants. It's hard to tell what's cannon a lot of the time. If you play (or watch, isn't really a lot of "game play.") the CF story it does a pretty good job of telling the it in a way that most people can understand. Even if it's a Groundhog Day esque story. Full of anime troupes, clones, and the headache that time travel always entails. Also I don't know what I was expecting from a 5min recap of you scrolling thru chara select, but man was most of that so boiled down it wouldn't help anyone or just wrong.

I think Blazblue's lore was intentionally complex to attract hardcore jrpg fans and also had simple designs to attract cosplay and otaku market, it was a right move for make time during Sega vs Arc Systems sue for Guilty Gear's right's dispute because the "Dreamcast only" clause ended with Naomi's cycle ending.

I can focus on the BB story because all I need to win in the actual game is spam Tager grab

Basically: -> Half of the character list is blood related because of some time travel magic clusterfuck that happens when the writer has alcohol problems. -> The other half wants to kill ragna.

Stuff happened and Kagura is so powerful that you barely get to hear about his cool motorcycle and squad of girls. That and the orbit is littered with Bullet's coat, Makoto's cloak, and that Kokonoe fireball super that is coming down to hit people that punish badly. Also Tsubaki is the worst friend.

Blazblue is my favorite game but even after playing through the story i'm not sure what happened on it

So just to point out what's incorrect, - Celica is not Ragna's sister, she's Ragna's foster mother. She was killed by Terumi and then brought back by Kokonoe in her younger form, that's why she looks younger than Ragna. - Jin was 'possessed' by his sword, not Hazama, but you could say Hazama caused it, so it's just a minor detail. - Tsubaki doesn't become Hakumen at the end of the series. It's just an alternate version of Tsubaki from Naoto's world who happens to look like Hakumen. - Susanoo isn't possessed Hakumen, Hakumen himself is wearing the Susanoo Unit, which is the original body of Terumi. So it was Terumi's body first.

Bro, i just came back to this series after 10 years and you helped me pick up the lore where others would take hours upon hours of dissecting. No offense to those types of channels because i love them just as much but, i really wanted to get up to snuff with BlazBlue since me and three other guys picked up BBCF to play. Heck, this will make for some interesting trivia talks and rabbit hole dives.

Jokes aside, Blazblue got some rly cool stuff. Lemme try to summarize the good parts while not spoiling too much. Ragna is the Black Beast, and he can tap into its power to do some crazy stuff. His arm was cut off by his brother during the single most traumatic day of his childhood, but later on that arm got replaced by Blazblue (roll credits...) Jin Kisaragi is quite complex. He was not just being "possessed". His memories were "eaten" by Terumi there. He's a bit of an ahole at the beginning but gets cooler as the story goes on. Noelle is rly cool. Her character was inspired by the film "Equilibrium", with the "Gun-kata" or so. She can summon these guns that sort of turn her into a killing machine... And later on in the story she gets a cool ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) transformation. There's this organization called "Novus Orbis Librarium" (NOL) keeping some order in the world. BUT, their emperor is actually a villain. They use a mixture of magic and science to make things work, and also as military weapons. Both good guys and bad guys are part of this organization tho. There's Sector Seven, an organization that opposes the NOL, and uses science almost exclusively. We also have the Six Heroes. A band of heroes that saved the world from the Black Beast many years ago. Back then Ragna wasn't the Beast yet. One of these Six Heroes is Hakumen, who is a time traveller. There's a bunch of other crazy things going on: an orbital laser cannon that is actually alive, time loops, causality-altering powers and weapons, alternative realities, and more.

Forgot to mention that Rachel saved Ragna's life and is his canon love interest in multiple timelines.

IF Celica is Ragnas sister (I haven't played that much of the story yet), Nine is also Ragnas sister, Because Celica is Nine's younger sister (XBlaze Lost Memories). That would make Ragna Kokonoe's uncle and Jubei his brother in law.

I don't know what Bobby planted in your Head, but Celica is neither Ragnas Sister nor one of the six heroes. (Actually the Mage inside Platinum is one of the Six Heroes. ) She is Nines Sister (thus Jubeis Sister-In-Law) and I think the Nun who raised Ragna to become the spitting image of the Time Travelling man she fell in love with. So in essence one of Ragnas Two Love Options. ( The worse one compared to the Allmighty Vampire Loli with a kickass butler and a huge mansion outside of space and time) Phew, that truly is difficult, but as for Blazblue lore all that matters is how badass your Main is. Sadly your time ran out when you got to the good part: Ikaruga and thus Bang the Ninja of Love and Justice as well as Kagura the Playboy who tries to overthrow the government.

Surprisingly accurate, but you forgot that Kokonoe and Mai is also in Sector 7 (aka 7th Agency in Japanese).

Also fun fact, Naoto Kurogane is actually Ragna from a different universe as they have the exact same Drive. It should also be known that the mother of Saya, Ragna, and Jin is the 5th Prime Field Device, which, was the model for Saya and by extension Izanami.

For me Calamity Trigger has the hardest plot of all 4 games, but the others games have a Amazing story and beautifull moments like the First meeting of Hakumen and Tsubaki and Ragna passed some time with lambda, and Central Fiction end

and then there's Relius who is either tangentially or directly responsible for like half of the nightmarish things in Blazblue, some of which overlap with Terumi If Blazblue ever got a proper adaptation that covered all the mainline games to boot, you would actually have to adapt all of the weird prequel side-materials like the Bloodedge Experience LN cuz of Naoto and by proxy Ragna's/Jin's/Saya's/Noel's/etc.'s mom, the Phase Shift LNs which cover the Dark War, the XBlaze VNs cuz of Es and younger versions of two existing characters in Phase Shift and later BB games, and Remix Heart snd its sequel Variable Heart cuz they elaborate on certain characters' backstories and cuz of Mai, who like Es and Naoto, are thrown into the 4th game Would be a full-on BBTVU
