man the sky towers track , the one that plays just at the beginning gave me so much BLAME! feels from the manga, really , that little spark of electronic guitar makes the scenario even more mysterious , If you mute the game suddenly all this magic disappears for me. Incredible work man, i admit i bought the game just because of the OST
you created a masterpiece the art of this game is on a whole other level than bloodborn darksouls etc ofcourse games like elden ring became one of the best games of all times but bleak faiths art the style the lore is just my all time favorite a mix of blame manga and lord of the rings & riddik and something new perfect unique with more updates its gonna be one of the top 5 soulsborn like games ever
I'm really looking forward to get more npc's and lore from the devs. I've already finish the game, but I'll def play it again in a month or so. Dev's are patching everyday!
This popped up for me during my painting of Warhammer 40k Belarsaurius Cawl model.... umm, there is some serious WH40k vibes here man. I'm down for it.
Thank you for the video! I won't play since it's not the type of game I know I will finish but the setting is very intriguing to me and I just want to know more about the lore!
Awesome video! Thank you for helping us to understand this extremely cool world. I hope we get more from these devs, or hope they can spend even more time adding fixes/features to this game. i want more people to experience this!
Me too. I would love it if these devs made an even more exploration focused, and less combat oriented game one day because the world feels very inspired and unique and fun to get lost in. :)
Didn't expect to hear Mathbonus in a gaming lore video, but sure as hell pleasantly surprised, I love Mathbonus. Chill video otherwise, thanks for some clarity.
I think a beautiful aspect of this game is that the cinematics are supposed to have audio, like the ones with the skeleton knight, and dont. Personally I prefer it that way, it leaves it for the player to conjure their own abstract ideas. Like an obscured painting and having to make your own story out of it. I think this quote from the game is one of the most relevant beautiful aspects of it - "Things have been set it motion that can never be explained" Now mostly I agree with the lore you have managed to pull from the game. My only point of confusion comes from Belisarius. The God-Emperor is clearly mass worshipped, and he is a figure among those ranks. I dont fully understand the purpose of fighting him. If his will was to spread the god emperor to 1000 realms (the game heavily implies multiple times lines, like when the handler refers to invaders from a foreign timeline) then why does he try and prevent the forsaken for reaching the anomaly, since in this video it suggest we end up fulfilling that idea of Belisarius, why would he want to prevent us? He makes reference to us fulfilling the goals of that "disgusting administration" which I perceived as Yulia, who becomes the traitor among the upper ranks. Seems like there are 2 sides, and the forsaken chooses neither, and fights both yet completely the goal of one of them? sorry this is a bit jumbled. For me its also Bizzare Yulia is the one who mentions traitors since she is, unless she wants to seed doubt against Belisarius or Yaruslav. And I cant exactly remember but i think hes portrayed as the villain early on or maybe im misremembering some dialogue. I have a bunch of other thoughts but I just specifically wanted your take after watching the video on Belisarius. His fight confused and intrigued me. Also once you reach the anomaly the religious people with Belisarius from the machinarium are seen in the cutscene with her worshipping the anomaly and defending Yulia, which i also find interesting. Unless unleashing the god emperor upon the multiverse was actually bad, and Yulia and Belisarius are together whilst you side with Yaruslav. But that still doesnt make sense with why you would do it at the end.
I believe the player forsaken had a different goal before entering the Anomoly, because once youre inside, Yulia and her faction betray you which we see in the cutscene just after you touch the Anomoly. I believe once that transpired, the player’s forsaken decided to instead go through with Belisarius’ plan.
I took it as such: -the player is effectively a puppet of the 'Administration' (strange squid like entities), this is why they have respawn hax -the Anomaly was something the colony the game takes place in found, which mutated and corrupted the populace -the player's task was to access the Anomaly and do something to stabilize or contain it and cut off its influence -the Imperium wants the Anomaly for power, and that is why they send Belisarius, Yulia and others (like Yaroslav and Konrad among others who defected for various reasons) to gain control of the Anomaly and deal with the corrupted city inhabitants -Yaroslav may have figured out what it truly was and knew the Imperium having it would be bad news, this is why he defects with his men and founds the Serdars to fight the Imperium and keep them from tampering with the Anomaly -Belisarius didn't know you were a puppet of the Administration, but Yulia did, I assume she tells him at some point between Machinarium and the Anomaly -Yulia however wishes to usurp the Anomaly for her own, and stops you from fixing it -her plan is to take the Anomaly far away somewhere (think the arc of BLAME! with Lady Mensab forwarding Toha Heavy Industries somewhere where the Administration nor the silicons can't bother her or Seu anymore) -the Administration intervenes to keep the Anomaly 'within their jurisdiction' (keep it from being taken) -the player finally interfaces with it and then is either ported out to live the rest of their lives as the nameless servitor unit they were before (or is plucked from their control by Skull Knight in the secret ending)
Slowly playing this game as they keep rolling out patches. I love it. Its a scifi dark souls dungeon crawler with story. Also, theres a movie called Mad God from 2021 that this game reminds me of.
Btw do remember the red hooded/caped, masked guys from kickstart trailer? I got an impression that they were some important characters/enemies. But did they even appear in the game? I also remember tall, pale gisnt enemy from the same trailer thar slowly aproaches the protagonist. Did that appear in the game also? It looked like some major boss.
Don't believe they are in the game. Though the devs have said on their discord that after a good while of bug fixes they plan to eventually roll out content updates. Bosses, zones etc, so maybe they make a return in that.
The thing that im disappointed when it comes to the world is it's less sci-fi aspect, if you check older videos from the devs and if you ever tried the prototype version, the magic and tech stuff seemed to be the same, for example there was an enemy in the prototype that had a big blaster thing attach to his arm that shot a purple beam, or a video of the devs chowing a techmancer character that shot little laser from your hand, i haven't finished the game yet so maybe some things are in but im at the point to kill the inquisitor so i think im almost done
So that colossal alien looking humanoid in the ending is the god-emperor? Wish i could play the game, it seems to be quite of mess right now, but im sure it'll get fixed over time. I really love the settings, creatures and little lore we've learned.
I believe it is the god-emperor yes, and all of the thousands of homunculus that are being spread out are it visually spreading itself to the rest of the universe. Becoming "Glorified not in one, but in countless suns. Not in a single realm, but in a thousand." I'm like 90% on this, but according to the discord there will eventually be an update that adds many more lore related item descriptions etc to the game, so all subject to change. :)
@@BoneNodle If i understood right, the omnistructure is like amalgamation of humanity's cities, kingdoms, etc and it didn't allways exist? So was it the malfunctioning anomaly that caused rise of the omnistructure?
@@Nikkenator The omnistructure is ever-expanding, constantly creating new technology and architecture. I believe very close to a 1:1 with the way the city in the manga "Blame!" works, where it is basically like a super advanced 3D printer that is constantly creating more and more stuff, but in the case of Bleak Faith, I think it is creating that stuff on top of a pre-existing world, taking it over.
@@BoneNodle Thank you for answers. How was the part of humanity becoming forsaken? What i got right that it was caused by the malfunctioning anomaly, but did the humans just started turning into mechanical beings or were there more to it?
@@Nikkenator I'm not actually sure how mechanical they are vs mutated. The handler tells you that the anomoly is mutating things so I think it was probably a slow process over who knows, hundreds, thousands of years. And no problem :) I wouldn't think of them as answers though, the game is still so new, there could be some undiscovered stuff that totally changes a lot of this, but for now im pretty sure I have a handle on the story.
I'd really like to know more about Archinquisitor, Yaroslav, Serdars, Mechanomads and all the different factions in the game. I hope this get console release this year so i can explore and study game world my self.
Im working on a separate video all about the characters of the game including skull knight. Should be out in a day or two. Lots of cool interesting stuff about him specially :)
In the standard ending you are 'thanked' for your service by being sent back into the bowels of the omnistructure, with an uncertain future. Skull Knight plucks you before that happens, and presumably delivers you to freedom. Maybe. We won't know until future content expands from that ending.
Please don't get swayed by the smooth movements in the video. Controls ,combat and movement is extremely janky and you know how that will play out in a soulslike. Plus all enemies can teleport even the basic ones. The first boss will kill you not because he's too hard, but because the developers do not give you space to maneuver. Bad game. Good concept but very poor gameplay.
