The updates to the industry compatible keymap are exciting since I think the 4.0 release will attract a lot of new industry professionals, and it's been hard to recommend using that keymap up to this point.

Yes! Finally! A Industrial Keymap overhaul. Blenders default controls just suck for me. And the industrial keymap clearly lacked...many, many shortcuts and features. To this day I dont know how to open the normal add menu, or open alot of other menus. I just kept pressing TAB to search through blenders entire command list (which is the old F3 menu in the default controls)

Why did you remove the hotkeys for polygon and vertex masking modes? After all, they did not conflict with anything; now when you click on them, nothing simply happens.

Now we just need to improve the sculpting system for objects with straight edges, generally when using the brush on the edge of a square it causes an absurd deformation, another thing that doesn't solve it are the Bake and Stitch textures, they present flaws mainly in the cuts, another thing is the lack of a node system to create textures directly in the blender as happens in the substabce desagner. But it would be better if you could create 3D cubic textures and just imagine a stone, inside the stone there are several traces, several layers, several 3D particles and when you cut against the UV map, the deformation of the map makes the texture look weak, the 3D texture would follow. the shape of the object is independent of the UV map even after baking.

For the modifiers I can add them immediately with cool blender addon like speedflow from pie menu and this really fast and that modifiers are smart and easy to change values of the modifier to change the look of the model.

I'm going through the Blender Guru donut tutorial now with Industry Compatible, and it is a rough ride. There doesn't seem to be a way to add a keymap shortcut for things like Edge Ring or Edge Loop selections. The fastest way seems to be Ctrl Shift Alt LMB for Regional Selecting and then clicking a bunch of edges.

I don't get how the detail flood works. If I have the standard brush, and dyntopo enabled, pressing ctrl+R and drag doesn't do anything for me in 4.0. The triangle preview doesn't show up. Edit: I see now, you have to set the detailing to either Constant or Manual for it to work. Dyntopo > Detailing > Constant or Manual.

I noticed the 1, 2, 3 keys seem to not do anything in sculpt mode, unless I'm missing something. @JulienKaspart Do these could mirror object mode where they switch between collections. Since I think it would be useful when sculpting to seperate parts using collections, such as having the hair mesh on a different collection and pressing the number row keys to turn it off and on, so you can toggle on meshes like, hair, clothes when sculpting a character for example.

I don't like hotkeys changing for the S - scale, G - grab, R - rotate. I like them as they was. They should be by default and an option to change in the settings to industry standart or back to blender old.

What is the shortcut to fill the weight? Shift + K is not working in weight paint, paint mask mode. So mamy hotkeys were changed and assigned hotkeys are not working. I love blender so much but pls update it later.

Intel HD 4000 is from 2012, and unfortunately it does not support the minimal version of OpenGL (4.3) required to run Blender's viewport. Supporting such an old system slows down the rest of the development because it requires maintenence and prevents adding new features from newer OpenGL versions that can improve performance by taking advantage of newer technology. Luckily Blender 3.6 LTS will be maintained for two years and even after that you can use it forever until you're ready to upgrade hardware.

for edit mode. now when i press 1,2,3 won't change my vertex,edge, or faces selection mode, do anyone know how to fix this ? because its little bit take a time if i use my mouse to change it . . . . .

I just installed 4.0.1 and on mine this is working fine. are you using "emulate numpad" option, maybe?

if you choose to import settings from previous version of blender, you can keep your custom keymap.

Mmmm no debería... Yo tengo un portátil Dell con una gráfica un tanto mala y el procesador es un i7 de décima generación y 12gb de ram. Lo utilizo para proyectos de infoarquitectura en interior y renderizo casi todo en EEVEE. La versión que tengo es la 3.6 LTS.

blender you are the industry standard, please stop changing hotkeys. Why did you get rid of dynamic topology toggle. I use it all the time with relative detail.
