Weird I have never gotten tired of discussing musical things. Even when I've heard them many times before, I always hear something new! 😅😊 You are a great coach!
You have the BEST phrasing on youtube! I been litsening to countless lessons, but I always come back to see yours! And what a nice little guitar, beautiful! I got myself a Godin kingpin, gonna practice on that one now
Part of what makes your demonstrations sound so good is your picking. Any possibility you might do a lesson on pick articulation to help create good sounding short phrases within these pentatonic boxes?
Wow Brian!! As I am watching and by 6 minutes I felt that you shared so many nuggets of reminders of my history of learning guitar, and I thought I should stop and put some markers on these... then I look and you have done that too!! LOL!! Wow, totally awesome and excited to watch the rest now!! Thank you Brian! I appreciate all your lessons and I think that this one is really going to be a top nugget of a lesson... as I am loving your approach and simplification of the most' 'needing to know' basis!! Awesome Brian!! 🙏💕😊
It is beautiful to practice major pentatonic Here is the minor pentatonic the even more beautiful thing is when we 'apply it to a chord progression with modal interchange , it takes that very sophisticated smooth style. Also when the chord of the parallel key comes we are forced to change pentatonic and this thing improves our musical ear a lot
You are my favorite Teacher. Thank you. Keep on doing what you are doing. You got good taste. Not sure about the whole bending thing, but thats what some folks ask. I suppose. Five High.
Omg! Finally u have onscreen graphics! Before I'd watch and be disappointed that something that was in the thumbnail was just described but not shown with a graphic, but now like showing the patterns on the screen make the lightbulb turn on....this is something even my own guitar teacher doesn't do, he'll for instance write out tab for a new scale but not the diagram so I'd have to go searching for it on guitar pro or tuxguitar...good on ya mannnn!
As the brain changes with age a more mellow expression of feelings comes out of one's musical thoughts. As you age Mr. Brian, you'll experience it. The breathing posture of your body will also affect your playing with age. Take care my good friend.
A bit confused, there’s not an Fmajor chord in key oh Gmajor. I realise in a lot of songs the 7th is flattened and a major chord played but does this make it the progression Gmixylodian or simply C major. I do like the lesson though and the g pentatonics clearly work over it, esp the F from the minor pent
Fantastic lesson! I am constantly noodling with the minor pentatonic scale, but I only have a couple notes that I feel comfortable bending. Hence, my noodling is not playing lead. It’s repetitive scale working hoping a light bulb will go off. And heck, I’m about to turn 61 and first learned the 1st position of that darn scale way back when I was a teenager. This will definitely give me a new approach to my noodling! Thanks so much.
First rate lesson that points a player way down the road. Discussion of tones re. (major/minor scale approaches) was helpful. Perhaps more on good listening another time? Enjoy your sample compositions very much. They sound like real music, as opposed to just cases.
Love this lesson. I was working through it with the video for a few minutes but having difficulty with the full bends...then it occurred to me: put down the acoustic and use the electric guitar. ;-) PS - speaking of guitars: I love the on you're using in this lesson. what model is it, and what amp are you using?
