Hi! Nice to see my tunes here! :) Yes, my startup tones are polyphonic so usually each motor has different notes, that way quads are playing 4 note chords. I usually keep the tones shorter than 5 seconds as it's the approximate time FC's are booting up.

So having Bad frames means nothing? I'm confused. I'm having weird rolls of death happening with my 6 inch badger running inav 3.0.2 with Takko32 ecs arm ESC's I've lowered the protocol but still getting bad frames

BLHeli32 works on Linux using wine (Windows Emulator). Extract zip file into a nice directory by itself. Then just type 'wine BLHeliSuite32.exe'. The only pain was tying to find what com port my Quad connection is on. There is like 99. At least I found mine on com 7. It is most likely not going to be over com 10. I did this on Manjaro Linux. I don't know why some ESCs are not seen by BLHeli32. And some are. I did put a song into one quad at least. Sort of a proof of concept test. Cool.

WHY ! THANKS AGAIN ! You eggheads. lol. This reminds me of the 70s when computers were just coming out, spending every night at the college writing programs, now 40yrs latter and we have this ! BL Heli is the only program that I haven't tried yet. I have been using a old notebook for betaflight and that uses all my resources up so I haven't had to use it. Thanks for the information on this I can't wait to get a new laptop and use this.

Hi Joshua. Have you come across an issue in bl heli_32 where it won't flash new firmware on your escs even though you are connected to the internet? I am getting the Unable to establish server connection! message even though I am connected to the internet.

Joshua do you happen to have a video on flashing esc’s I’d say a 4n1 comes from the factory blank? I finally installed my t-motor f45a 4n1 last night and esc 4 is blank in blheli32. I think I remember hearing something about ftdi flashing or something like that but I’m not finding much info. Thanks.

It's probably not actually blank, just the signal wire is messed up.

Joshua Bardwell thanks I’ll triple check it tonight when I get home. I have that issue on a dalrc engine esc as well and from what I’ve seen on msg boards it’s a common issue, on the engine at least. I’ve never seen a complaint on the t-motor esc. But tmotor customer service was quick to reply at least when I emailed them last night. I told them I’d love to learn to fix it if at all possible to save them from sending me a new one. But sounds like their going to send a new one. I donno. The tinker side of me wants to fix it tho lol.

When I hit check I only get three out of four ESC's popping up. Yet all my motors run when I arm my quad so I know all ESCs are working. Also I'm using the four in one T motor 55A ESC. Am I missing something or doing something wrong or is this normal?

It may mean the signal wire to one ESC is slightly damaged.

Those two tones are pretty critical to the debug process, and let you know the ESC is getting a valid throttle signal. Definitely wouldn't want to turn those off.

The logic could be reversed, so that if everything is fine then it plays the music on startup with no debug sounds. If there is an issue then it plays the debug sounds at the end.

From a debug perspective positive confirmation is definitely preferred to negative confirmation. On BLHeli_S since it is open source you could go into the code and modify it if you wanted, but I think that will never work it's way in BLHeli32 or the main branch of _S. Might be useful to make the beep into one short beep or something less intrusive though.

Yeah a shorter tone would be a nice compromise. The current sound is quite jarring at the end of a melody.

Still waiting on a Mac version, I am using BLheli 32 ESCs but I change motor direction by physically swapping motor wires and never update the firmware or make configuration changes.

Unfortunately, BLHeli32 is license locked to the unique ID in the STM32 chips. One of the downsides of going from open source to the closed. By nature the app needs to be different to account for the licensing part. Theoretically they could probably merge the apps, but they probably feel it's not worth the extra work to sort all that out.

Correct. Your ESC is blheli_s. You need regular blheli configurator, not blhelisuite32.

I would check the signal wire first, and the FC output. Maybe go from Dshot1200 down to 600.

No. There is a separate blhelisuite program for older ESCs.

No blheli doesn't support that. I don't know the reason why.

I wish we could. Would make things much easier. As of right now, we need to enter each note, the pitch, the length of the note, and the length of the pause in between. Maybe one day there will be support for more complex tones.

Wont plugging in the fc while props on and battery connected still while outside after flying a pack possibly cause it to freak out , fly away, /cause injuries??

In general plugging in USB while XT60 is on is safe. There are safeguards to prevent arming the motors when USB is plugged in. You are right that there is some risk though.

Charles Brown I came up with a way to at least minimize the chance of injury when doing this. I attached an extra long battery strap to my table where I work on my quad. And if I’m too lazy to that the props off I strap the quad to the table so if it try’s to flyaway it can’t

Reason I asked ... Yeah I was that guy that we always warn to take props off and all I was doing was checking motor rotation very new to building Kwads and props were on battery plugged in and it seems to me that some how using an experienced micro usb and it breaking connection is what caused it, loss of signal from betaflight and fc taking over? Or maybe a program crash causes that, not really sure .. I think maybe Ill do a test with it with props off to see what causes it Or maybe good ole Joshua Bardwell will try it lol , thanks for replying love your videos and thank you for doing them etc I will be signing up for your patreon

Joshua Bardwell PLEASE HELP??? I downloaded the BLHeliSuite32 and then used a zip extractor to decompress zip file to my google drive then put it on my computer through Google Drive where it is continuing to tell me that the BLHeliSuite32 configurator is not responding.. I have also tried downloading the direct zip file to my computer unzipping it and then running BLHeliSuite32 an still get the same message someone please help I have tried to figure this out for a week now with no progress..

The most common cause of this is not extracting the file correctly or completely. Without seeing your desktop it's hard to say more.

It might indicate that the ESC is not seeing the motor singal perfectly. If the ESC is an older ESC maybe it doesn't fully support multishot.

i followed your links to download blheli 32, computer is blocking the download. says a virus was detected. same thing is also happening to a buddy. is there a new issue going on with it? i had it installed before and it worked. i went to set up a new quad yesterday and the config was removed from my computer, guessing my virus program removed it. any help with this please. thanks

BLHeli32 is an app I never could install on my win 10 PC. I have security alerts and missing files... despite multiple downloads. I reverted to using the chrome app. I was hoping you would walk us through a typical instal :)

There isn't an install, you should just be able to extract the zip and then run the executable from the folder. Most of the time when you get errors like that it means the entire folder wasn't extracted, or the executable is trying to be run from within the zip without being extracted. I highly recommend installing 7zip to deal with any compression/extraction needs. That's not really specific to BLHeli32, but probably would have been useful to mention. I just didn't think about it as it's so much part of my normal non-quad workflow!

Yes. Enable dshot motor buzzer on the configuration tab.

@@JoshuaBardwell yeah not working...It does beep when the lost model timer runs down but I can't get them to work on the switch like my BLheli_S quads. When I flip the momentary switch I can see an LED turn on and off on the board and it shows functioning on the Modes page but no beeps!

basically it's referring to how digital information is transmitted over an analog line. It's sent in groups with some information along with it to check validity. If the check fails, then the information is disregarded. Each batch of data with the checksum is referred to as a frame. So if a checksum fails and the information is disregarded, it lists it as a bad frame.

The actual content in this video is how to download blheli from Google drive and how to set up musical startup tones. I have over an hour of interview with Ryan. If I release it all at once then I have no content for the rest of the week. And the majority of people don't watch the whole video which is bad for my analytics. I know I set the standard high by releasing 10 to 20 minutes of content nearly every day but my minimum standard is 5 to 7 minutes as long as it contains solid information.

I am running them on a Mac but I have mostly avoided BLheli 32 because of no configurator. On the quad I have them I just don't make any changes to firmware and swap motor wires to change motor direction, it sucks but I'm not messing with an emulator.

@@johncitizen3361 Actually I do have an emulator but I find it often wont work for some USB connections. I can re-boot in Windows Mode and wait for a couple of hours while Windows updates but what a bore!

Creo que no voy a comprar betafpv nunca más, todo me llegó en mal estado desde el principio y funciona como el culo. encima muy poca información en español y la que da incluso en ingles no soluciona la configuración entre mi dron y el receptor. encima ya pasó la garantía y no se pueda reclamar. Creo que mejor me voy a pasar a otra marca que sea más estable y sencilla.

When I try to flash it tells me new update and won’t let me flash. Doesn’t say what I have to install! I’m about to quit this hobby nothing but problems with this crap
