@@BaghdadieDave Only 4 times? Rookie numbers :D I was really excited when that movie finally came to Germany. I actually waited for it and didn't watch it before to experience it in cinema. But then the work week was so bad, I was so exhausted, I decided I can't make it... and looked for an online version Friday evening (I never do that normally, I always buy stuff... but this was not available). So I found a 720p version (since I normally never dl, I didn't really know where to look) in Japanese with subs... and was blown away. So much that I wanted to see it in better quality. Then I found a 1080p in english dub. But found the dub rather disappointing. So I looked some more and found a Japanese 1080p with subs again. This was all Friday evening. Then I spontaneously went to the cinema on Saturday and was surprised how good the German dub was. Then I watched the Japanese again afterwards to compare. On Sunday I watched the movie again twice at home... and decided to spontaneously go to the cinema again :D So this was 8 times in the first 3 days... In the following 2 weeks I went with some friends to the cinema a few times and watched it some more times at home and I think I clocked at around 20 times in 2 weeks... I don't even know why I was so obsessed... I mean it's one of my all-time favorite movies ever. But that was really extreme, even for a movie lover like me.

Think this was the first time I cried in front of my girlfriend back in 2016, we had watched a lot of sad shows where I would usually tear up but was too embarrassed to cry next to her, but when she opened her hand and it said " I love you " if fucking started dying. You know it's bad when you do the thing where you try to hold back tears and you start letting like little bursts of air out of your mouth and then I just started dying hahaha. Luckily she isn't the type of girl that think dudes that cry are weak, so, fast forward to many years later we have been married a few years, and now when we watch sad shows I cry, because I am a human lol.

Have you figured out why we see Taki falling out of bed? It's because Mitsuha sleeps on a mat on the floor, not an elevated bed. Also, have you paused to read the little tags of English that Taki was reading on the train when Mitsuha came to visit him before he knew her? Two little easter eggs there! Also also, don't be too hard on Taki for writing "I love you" instead of his name. The theory is that if he had written his name, it would not have helped. Mitsuha would not have understood why the name was on her hand because, as the Grandma said, memories fade. Facts fade. But the one thing that did remain was the feeling, and that was enough to get them together eventually.

Oct 2021: Taki was looking for a job, he met Okudera, remembering the meteor 8 years earlier and that they went to Itomori 5 years earlier. Dec 2021: Taki and Mitsuha walked past each other on that bridge. Apr 2022: Taki and Mitsuha met on that stairs. There has never been a movie that I’ve seen that I can say with absolute, unwavering certainty, is perfect. But Your Name is. I literally can’t see a single flaw with this movie. It’s story is so we’ll crafted and told. It’s characters are sympathetic, extremely likable, driven, and feel so real. The art style and animation are gorgeous. The soundtrack fits every scene perfectly and is so lovely to listen to. The emotional notes have extremely satisfying setups and payoffs. None of this is said because of any sort of bias either. Then investigating the series after was mind boggling. A movie that has been paid homage in many anime's was the Japanese movie "Linda Linda Linda" (the series episode "Love Alive" came from it). BTW did you know the director of "your name" which over shadowed "A Silent Voices" ability to stand out - Tweeted something like, "just saw A Silent Voice .. brilliant .. exceeds what I could have done."
