For episode 27 of our popular Electronic Beats Blind Test series we take a deep dive into the wonderful world of 80s Italo Disco. Joining us on this journey through chuggy arpeggios, kitschy synth work and passionate vocals is Rotterdam’s finest and Moustache Records boss David Vunk, icon of The Hague’s Disco scene, Intergalactic Gary and Dischi Autunno artist Pablo Bozzi. We also welcome the Bolzano, Italy born, now shining beacon of Berlin’s Disco scene Giulia Gutterer, Brazilian Clash Lion co-founder and Phantasy Sound artist Terr, and last but not least, Italian Disco aficionado Budino. Accompany us as we traverse this iconic era of European Disco.
Please note that this video is not filmed in real time. It’s edited to create some tension so that you in front of the screen can guess as well. It doesn’t say anything about how fast the participants recognised the track etc.
All contestants receive one point for both artist and title correct, but only half a point if they can only guess the artist or the title.
