@@joshjlmgproductions3313dude, MCR is not an emo band. It is a fact that we cannot change anymore because it has been commercialized everywhere and people called them "emo" now. Plus, it's a 100% sarcasm that Mark Hoppus said that Blink-182 is am emo band (in case you missed out the sarcasm). Don't hate me for telling you this but it is the truth.
@@bluepinkman4785 I got the sarcasm, but MCR has been categorized as emo since the beginning. Heck, they've been known to make Emo as mainstream as it is. Yes, they've rejected the label, but that doesn't mean they aren't it.

I'm not really good at arguement because I don't speak english but that site had a ton of facts about which s emo and which is not emo.

I’m Aussie I seen them back in 2005 when Tom was around so good. I don’t think I’d go to see them now, I’m not a fan of the Blonde Lesbian in the band...
Tom kept AVA a secret for quite a while. Even in it's early years when they were called Box Car Racer. I'd also be upset if my "brother" kept a big secret from me and then made merch and wore it around me.
@@rizzydizzy48 he featured on the album as an apology from Tom because he and Travis initially never told him about it, and he found out and got pissed. It was in fact a secret, and Tom wearing that stuff would have felt like reopening that wound.
I remember one of the first songs i heard from blink was "All the small things." I was 8 at the time. The last album i heard from them was in 2003, and since then so much has changed for better or for worse. Between growing up and finding who i really am as a person. This band did serve as a part of my life. With my demeanor and "punk rock attitude" i had along with the influence of some other bands i used to listen to. And how some of it still carried over in my life growing these past 20 years. Looking at them now brings back bittersweet memories that give me mixed emotions, nostalgia. Whether it be for them as a band or me as an individual. Both smiles and a few tears has been shed. And if its one thing that i did learn, is to appreciate All the small things, in life. No matter what they are.

@@lexluthor3890 That album is what made me look more into blink. I thought their personalities were hilarious and I wanted to know more about these dudes.
I think as bands get older and especially once they've had success, they don't really care what you call them. Teenagers fight over who's really punk and who's pop and who's emo and who's pop-punk, but I seriously doubt Mark cares. If anything, I have the impression from the last few albums that he is excited to incorporate new styles and he doesn't just want to be the pop-punk guy after 30 years. He's going to make his music and people can call it whatever they want. So he just says "rock" because that is what their music is in the most general sense. Nobody can argue with that.
Blink means so much to me and my childhood. All the Small things will forever take me back to being a kid and borrowing the Now CD from a friend just to listen to that song.
Okay so I didn't get it until now but Matt saying incorrect to Marks "starters of the emo trend" is actually super funny. Matt's original band (Alkaline Trio) started in 1996 which wasn't the start of the emo trend but I'd for sure say they definitely were a HUGE part of it.
It’s so cringe that Matt has nothing to say. All these questions are pertaining to before he was in the band. And they’ve answered these questions over the years. Matt is a great addition to e band. I don’t want to see him as a place holder.
It is a little awkward. I feel like the interviewer should be a little more aware of the situation though. "What is 'All the Small Things' about?" "Well, no one you are currently speaking to wrote that song, so who knows."

@@bluepearl_22 It's not about any drama. It's just kind of dumb to ask people to explain what a song is about when they didn't write it. If you're going to ask what a song is about, wouldn't you want to ask the person who actually wrote the song?
@@inflago dude they are a band. It's not like everyone wrote their own separate stuff for themselves. They wrote for the band. Hence, it's not weird to ask about songs that Mark wasn't the main writer on. As a song writer myself, trust me it's not that big of a deal.
He was definitely not feeling that joke lol I think musically he blends with the band musically but personality wise they r on opposite sides of the spectrum. U can see Matt trying his best to be witty and all "Blinky" here... Not his best look.
I really want to know the real lyrics for the line in Boxing Day. “Cast the bridges and the waters, the roofs left behind” “Cross the bridges and the waters, their clues left behind” “Just the bridges and the waters, cause we’re left behind” Everywhere you look says something different. And it is really hard to make out what he is saying, and even if so, what does that line mean????
@@SonicSega0964 the 2 founders of the band were tom and mark... Scott reynor back in the day was my favourite drummer for blink... then they sacked him for Travis. In a way we are both right. I dont like that mark is the only member left of the original line up.
Tom And Scott founded the band. Tom was looking for someone to Start a band with, and saw Scott perform at a Battle of the bands at the School both of them were attending. Scott heard about this from his friend, and both him and Tom met up at a party and started Jamming thereafter. Mark joined through his sister who was hanging out with Tom at the time. Scott and Mark would leave and come back at some point during the early days, but Tom was always the consistent member of the band up until his departure in 2015
I really hate how much the blink fandom dislikes Skiba. Matt is one of the greatest frontmen of all time. If you don't believe me go on a deep dive of Alkaline Trio.
