They split in 2005 after issues stemming from side projects and musical differences. Then Travis was involved in a plane crash in 2008, which temporarily reunited them a year later. However, by 2014, the same issues had arose, and Tom (guitarist) left again. Then Mark got cancer in 2021, and Tom wanted to support him through it, which led to them reuniting a year ago 😊 The power of friendship and music ❤🤘
I grew up on blink, this hit hard…. The back drops from previous videos…. Seeing travis sing was amazing It’s a Ballard to themselves. And how they went through all these major life moments together. They grew up and grew apart, split up and then it took these crazy moments (marks cancer and travis’s plane crash) to get together again. Marks chemo destroyed his vocal cords and it took so much rehab to get back to being able to perform again
As someone who was in foster care and moved around 16 times between the ages of 3 and 15, this strikes a chord with me. I keep my friends and family extremely close to me because I never had any growing up. I don’t take any of it for granted.
Ive been a Blink-182 fan for 20+ years and I absolutely love this song. Each of their biggest videos backgrounds scrolling through the video was epic. And Travis singing? WHAT!!! I cannot wait to hear the new album.
Yesterday was the one year anniversary of my mom's death. Song hits me hard... I lived 3 hours away and all the time I lost with her is the most painful thing... Wish I could say I love you one more time :(
You should check out "The Transplants". It's one of Travis Barker's side projects with Tim Armstrong from Op' Ivy and "Rancid". "The Transplants" is kind of a Punk Rock/HipHop Fusion with some Ska (Ska Punk) thrown in. Which I thought was cool because Punk Rock and HipHop came up together during the Civil Rights movement and played the same clubs and recorded in the same studios because a lot of the clubs and studios wouldn't have either group
My favorite reactor reacting to my favorite band growing up to them getting back together!!! Thanks for the video man 🔥🙏🔥. When I saw they made this song, I thought “man! That would be cool if Black Pegasus reacted to this.” Sure enough, a few hours later you posted this. Much love brother and I see your channel still growing each day 🙌.
RIP CHESTER 😭 This whole thing with Blink releasing two songs, with the first being emotional and the next being more upbeat but still with meaning, REALLY gave me similar feelings to LP's Meteora 20 releases of "Lost" and "Fighting Myself" earlier this year, except of course that it was old unreleased tracks and Chester is no longer with us 😭. At least Blink is picking up the pieces and keeping it going, and I'm here for it!
I found you from watching Ren... and I subscribed. Now you are vibing with my favorite band of all time ❤❤❤❤❤ thank you. This song is definitely kicking in the feels. They got me through my teens, my family life sucked. They are reuniting with meaning. Have you heard Edging? It was the song that announced Tom was back in the band. Their new CD comes out October 20th. Saw them on their tour in July. Was AMAZING. Not sure if there are effects I know Mark had vocal coaching after chemo messed up his vocals. In concert he sounded awesome. I think with Tom his vocals just evolved into his own style being in his Angel's and Airwaves band. I think when they sing together it has a vibration sound that sounds like effects. Not sure man. Thanks for this though! Love you guys and playing this just made me like you guys even more if that's possible 😂
Chemo completely wrecked Mark's vocals so that may be one reason why they sound off. Also this song is a tribute more so to then being back together and realizing that they can't break up again because they could die tomorrow.
Not the sweater joint?!! I like the sweater joint way more than the Buddy Holly track... Haha, that just made me chuckle when you said that. Solid post; it's been interesting to hear a lot of different people's takes on this song. Thanks!
The reason for their break-up is something spiritual. Yes, there are surface reasons and there are plenty to pick a part to argue about. None of the surface answers are satisfying and each one keeps you searching for another answer because the last answer didn't quite sit right as to why they broke up. All their actions and explanations up until now tells me they didn't understand either why they broke up. They may now. The answer is something spiritual and the full details and comprehension is still to come. All we have to do is sit back and enjoy what will come
I love this song so much but it's kind of a bitter sweet love. I grew up listening to these guys and this one kind of feels like... a goodbye. Like... Let's do this one more time guys. Maybe one last time.
Omgoodness please react to Edging by them. So good. It’s from last October. The same day they released One More Time they released a second song called More Than You Know with a “Ren-like” lyric video. Would be epic to see you react to both.
This is heavy. What is going on? Sounds like something happening. Yes 🙌 I’ve lost all my family; my brother, my mom & dad and me & mom got to say everything but my dad & brother were sudden 😢October rough month for me
There was a girl i knew years ago, she broke up with this dude cuz he kept playin games with her an hurting her an we got the liking to each other, an i thought things was going great till she called me up one day an told me at some point she took him back only to hurt her again an i remember on the phone i said: you lied to me, why we even talkin? an i hung up on her only to hear 3 weeks later she got into a car with friends an got into an auto wreck, her an driver died, song hits me cuz if she only i how much i never meant to say that but its to later for apologies :(
If you want a newer song in "their old edgy style", they released a single months ago when they first got back together called Edging. It's pretty fun.
