Fun fact. This is blink's best show of the reunion. They played everything great (Tom is off vocally, but it okay) and had so many jokes. It was like watching the blink everyone fell in love with (Mark Tom an Travis show worthy). And to top it off, at the beginning of Dammit, Tom screams, "take your pants off!"and mark sings during the bridge "Wannabe". Of course virgin mobile were too stupid to film the whole concert...
the one he's using here is a totally customed one made to tune lower... which he's using on the reunion tour in favour of his fender tornado which he used to use on this song
Damn I don't give a shit what anyone else says. I know Tom isn't great live (and really never was) but I think he kicked ass in this performance. He gave a good effort and pushed super hard on the choruses. I can appreciate his vigor.

Alright so for those wondering, that guitar looks different because tom needed a baritone 335 with his specs, but Gibson wouldn't do it. So tom went to a guy that handbuilds oddball guitars, long story short that's the only known baritone es335 in existence. He keeps it in drop c# and uses it to play obvious and Adams song
Yeah, that was actually a brief topic of discussion on the AVA Movement forum back in '09 (back when there was some gossip over whether he was balding and/or getting fat). We had all gotten used to when he cut his hair short in '08, and he actually made a comment on Modlife at one point about how he was growing it out to be more punk (I think those video chats he did were called Modblasts or something like that?)

Since the Blink-182 reunion, he has been seen using his original brown and cream guitar (which now has a Blink-182 'smiley logo' sprayed painted onto the body), his natural and black guitar (which has now been abused with burns, scrapes and stickers), and a new black and white guitar, which is a custom Baritone version of his standard signature guitar, made for playing the song Obvious, and other down-stepped songs. the guitar Tom is using for the song Obvious is a custom Baratto guitar, he used to use a custom Fender Toronado/Jazzmaster. but do to his back injury a few years ago he now uses Gibson's and apparently Baratto's guitars because they are a lighter guitar and better for his back.
@tjrskyline thats because this guitar that he uses here is one of the prototypes for when he created this guitar, he uses it sometimes for songs tuned down1 and 1/2 steps like this one
Yeah i hope he uses it too. And his voice has somehow become stable now in 2013. I really hope the new album will be awesome. I think it needs to be happy and fast paced cause last album was dark... Anyways thanks again.
the truth is there stage presence is incredible and if you dont like Tom's voice than u dont like blink, sure its not the same as before but i was impressed when I was at this concert its I realized its coming back. He has an amazing punk voice.
@Gdayguy36 This has been addressed before. Tom's voice actually physically changed. He cannot sing the same way he used to. His voice began changing in 2002 when he injured his back and began taking painkillers and continued to change until ~2007. You can already hear obvious differences in his voice if you compare the blink's STFTK performance on Leno versus their later performance of it on Kimmel.
I think this performance is the best cuz Tom atm show us emotions in this song. "i know you used me agaaaaaain" - he is singing this like he is crying, search help but he is fucking mad. He is asking "should we try it before..." "I know You fucked with him again" - Full of pain and madness... AWENSOME!
i think tom sounds amazing. i saw them in atl in october and all three of them KILLED> tom sounded perfect guitar and vocals, mark sounded amazing as always and killed the bass, and travis.. well travis never dissapoints.
Damn you are right i had no idea. I thought the es 333 was almost the only thing he used. Turns out he has a baritone fender for playing downstepped songs like adams song ( which has been retired unfortunately) and obvious. Thanks Man i did not know that. Cheers
watching the beginning i was thinking "This is average Tom", then it kept getting better and better and better and the near the end was perfect! they shoulda played it twice in a row. the second one woulda been perfect!
@TheBeeges no, that's not the reason, he switched to Gibson because he wanted to go back to his roots. Tom used Gibson Les Paul during the first few years of blink 182, then he started to use Fender after dude ranch came out
well the jazzmaster was before the break up and now he tries to stick with the ES-333 look. and his singing on this(live) is waaaayyy better than past videos ive seen.
