the miss spelling is on purpose its a fact at this point that blitzø can not spell anyway sorry this is all over the place and mostly about his scars then his outfit, also points i forgot to mention so the pinker scar is due to blitzos succubus side keeping things pink even when scared if you look at Jesse the Ozzie bouncer concept Line up art you'll see his markings are more pinkish then white along with the girls also I did get rid of blitzø's head spikes honestly no even remembers them half the time and disappear due to his giant horns XD

The redesign of the outfit and the ugliness of the burn scars somehow makes Blitz look very intimidating yet mysterious which is very fitting for someone who works as an assassin.

Finally, someone gave his legs justice. Some people told me “it’s hooves,” but like, hooves aren’t shaped like that. Just look it up, you’ll see.

2:17 ringleader? clown? wearing dad's clothes? Oh my gosh, I just realized something, he's unconsciously dressing up as his father (someone he seems to HATE), to show how much he came to hate himself and his past, he's covering himself in stuff he likes but that are somehow linked to the things he despises the most like his father, who is a ringleader, his past in his family's circus, and his mom's necklace, because he feels responsible for her death, his outfit might be his way of constantly remind himself or make him think of how much of a horrible person he is and how he's probably never going to change.

I always think blitzos feet look like he has foot binding which honestly reads like a cruel way for his dad to keep him from leaving the circus and means blitzo needs very specific shoes to support him so he can walk normally. As for the horses its odd hes not afraid of hell horses considering they were part of how he ended up burnt, but it would be neat if it explained why he likes those horse figurines which noteably look like earth horses, he likes them bc they dont have fire.

They went all out for Aang cause Zuko's face is always there, Aang's back scar is bearly ever seen, they needed to make Zuko easy to animate and keep consistent. That's my theory at least

Viv’s choice for how she has Blitzø’s burn marks look will always surprise me. You know you’ve poorly designed burn scars when most fan artists draw human Blitzø with vitiligo. I just looked it up, and only saw two artists draw him with burn marks. Like I get it’s a cartoon, but if burn marks and vitiligo looks different on humans, I’d… maybe consider how a imp’s skin pigment would differentiate too? I’ve always been kinda bothered by Viv’s decision to have imps skin turn white when affected by a outside force or by a genetic choice, and most times it’s not even different types of white used, just the same white. 😭 I do find it funny how occasionally you’ll find a background character have different scar/ freckles color types, so why couldn’t they differentiate the colors of Millie’s scars, Blitzø’s burn scars, and Moxxie’s freckles? And to bring up Moxxie, I have seen ppl question if his freckles were freckles or scars. Freckles are usually any color that’s darker then the person’s skin tone, so if ppl have to ask if freckles are actually freckles or scars on a character bc you chose not to make them different colors, imo, you fucked up. I’m not gonna touch on my issues with imps with darker skin having the same color white marks as imps with lighter skin (I’ve sat here looking up info on marks and how they can vary in color while also looking at ref sheets for HB characters so I wouldn’t be talking out my ass) so I’m just gonna end this long ass rant. Lovesart, if you read this, I really appreciate you for making this video. It made me realize (and see) how doing proper research on the human body and how it scars can and will help with designing a character with scars too, even if the artstyle is cartoony.

I love the darker contrast in tge coats and skin, making him more spooky and a lot sharper yet colorful. Thr original felt a little too much with the details and I thought the mark on Blitz eye wad a skin marking not a scar :/

Love how you made Blitz's scars look like actually scars instead of someone possibly confusing it for clown makeup *cough*Fizzy*cough*. Also Blitz's jacket gives me Invader Zim vibes like Dib's Dad kind of jacket.

(Genuinely, I didn’t even realize they were supposed to be scars until recently, they look more like a skin condition like vitiligo-) ((Also, you were absolutely on point about Blitzø and Stolas’ relationship. It really seems to me like Stolas just sees Blitz as a way out of his ‘miserable,’ ‘boring’ life, and doesn’t actually care or know anything about who he is as a person, while Blitz is genuinely uninterested in Stolas. It doesn’t feel like a ‘complicated’ or ‘misinformed’ romance, it just feels like toxic codependency, and loving the idea of a person rather than the person themselves.))

I SWEAR TO GOD i didn’t even know those were scars in the original, I thought they were Goddamn VITILIGO MARKINGS!! I’m not the only one who sees it right? Like the rounded edges, the tiny spots around certain parts, the spermatic placement, EVERYTHING SCREAMS VITILIGO MARKINGS!! This Design kills it!, I love what did with his Scars, i can see your stolas falling for Blizto’s scars since Stolas doe’s astronomy and likes stars , and his scars are like star-Shaped, I love the outfit l, it’s simple. His skin tone has romantic vibe to it. 💗 can’t to see striker and Moxxie next!.

Seeing Blitz's scars being actually deeper really shows how much damage took in that fire, makes him look kinda scary specially the face, as well his outfit really tells he's a hitman or assassin

FINALLY someone mentioned how fake the relationship between Blitø and Stolas is!

I like your redesign. I think Blitz and Stolas should have just been casual in Season 1, got a closer in S2, and S3 should have been when things got serious. More development and take out the childhood friends. Stolas could have had a crush on a different imp as a child just to show there was always an attraction, but Blitz is more than that.

Dude you made them look a lot better than the cannon designs again.. I'm starting to wonder how long they spent working on the desings (and story but we knew already) Like they spend hours on animation but character design...

I'm legally blind and I LOVE that you gave Blitz a sight impairment. I like to think of him as half blind too. Disability is sorely underrepresented in Vivziepop's work (technically there's Fizz but his disability is written to not affect the way he lives as long as he has his prosthetics which is not accurate to real life amputees). Also appreciate that you emphasized researching blindness and that not all of us have milky or "blind" eyes. Great redesign!

Honestly the infatuation between blitz and stolas would be fine if only the show acknowledged it (like many other problems it refuses to tackle). I just hope hazbin hotel doesn't share the helluva boss problems.

I love this! I love how his redesign stays true to the character while also adding new/“corrected” elements (ex: his clothes being more fit for an assassin and his scars aligning with how he was hit with the blast). In addition, I love how his face scar looks. It represents the rough aspects of his character, and it makes me so intrigued to hear your rewrite of Stolas and Blitzø’s relationship.

It could have been compelling if due to Blitzø's visual impairment he initially sought Loona as an assistance hellhound during his recovery phase after the fire and overtime grew to value each other beyond obligation, adopting her afterwards once recovered. S2E1 gave me the impression that Blitzø's mother was ill in some way, leading me to believe Loona - in addition to her fractious behavior - was in the adoption center for so long due to a preexisting medical condition when S2E2 aired. Originally, based off the HB pilot(I'm aware it's not necessarily canon), I assumed Loona was diabetic/hypoglycemic or could have had congenital syphilis given her response to his gift. It's a headcanon that makes the most sense to me, nevertheless, your redesign gives me Dog the Bounty Hunter energy. Great job.

It's still crazy how I love your reimaging world-building with the characters more than the original. Like I feel like I care for it more when than with the original

I really like how you did his scars especially his eye. They look more like scars then the original and gives him a more intimidating look which could be a fun contrast to his more silly personality. I also agree that his “relationship” with Stolas is not being done well how it was in season 1 is a perfect example of lust which makes Ozzi and Fizz’s roasting of the two fit perfectly and if they wanted to turn it into a genuine romance it would require a bit of time and careful writing to properly execute. But I have a feeling they got scared by the fans because they can be very scary when shipping was involved and the writers got worried because they basically pointed out all the reasons why their relationship doesn’t work that the fan base would turn on them because it’s the most popular ship and have spent most of season 2 going “wait don’t chase us with pitchforks and torches they are going to become a couple we swear!” Instead of sitting down and thinking what steps in the story needs to be taken to have a toxic lust fueled transactional relationship develop into a genuine one.

And his weird hand/glove scars always bugged so much lol I really like your concept more with all the imps being more reminiscent of the rings that they're from and some of the imps being mixed, like your Blitzo. I am SO EXCITED for your Moxie redesign and rewrite videos! Literally can't wait lol

Honestly Blitzos feet bother the hell out of me (....no pun intended) Cos they have the potential to look like actual hooves, like the direction they went with Alastor on the summer merch. So i have absolutely no idea why "boot shaped" sounded like a good idea to Viv.

Fantastic vid, really liked how you tweaked Blitzø’s design. Especially the scars. I’ve got a ton of old burn scars from SH and I appreciate how much attention you brought to making Blitzø’s scars more realistic. Just a suggestion for a future vid, but I’d love to see your interpretation of Barbie’s design! helluva boss is definately a guilty pleasure of mine. Tho i am aware, and im made more aware thanks to these vids, of its flaws, i still enjoy the shit out of it. Also im in love with your redesigns, and i also love how you incorperared the scars. I feel like too many designs involving scars still aim to make the character remain conventionally attractive and just slapping on a scar texture, without accounting for how it might actually affect the character. I also think Blitzø being visually impaired would have an interesting impact on the story considering it would probably make being an assassin more difficult.

I love it! I'm actually planning to cosplay Blitz in the near future and I was looking for inspirations, if you don't mind (do you? I don't want to steal from an artist), I might take some elements of your designs especially the scars and eyes, they feel much more realistic. :) Other than that, just really nice design, I was a bit worried you were going to change him too much but I actually agree with all of these, there's reasons and the final look is less youthful, which makes sense since he's supposed to be like 30 I think? Or at least, in his canon design he looks 20 and that always bugged me a little. I'm excited for the rewrites too :)

I think it wasn't a matter of "I had it worse" when Blitzø says "You have no idea what I lost," I think it was a realistic, somewhat neurodivergent miscommunication, as his intent was "I never would have intentionally done this BECAUSE I would be losing too much," as Fizz believed Blitzø set the circus on fire purposefully, specifically to get at him. I do that sort of thing all the time, misspeaking, that is, so it's coming from personal experience. I could be wrong, but if it was intentional, that sort of thing really hits.

I love love LOVE this redesign so much, especially Blitz's scars! I'm a burn victim myself who has the more rounded off burn that he has in the og show, but the kind of burn that I have can for the most part only be done if a flat surface was the thing that burned him (like a stove, iron, etc) so seeing that he was burned by fire really shows how much more accurate this version is. Honestly keep it up! :D I love your redesigns, and I can't wait to see more of em in the future!

I agree with you with them probably not making verosika apology meaningful. The show seems to keeps babying the guys of the show. Like Stolas cheating but its ok because his wife sucks, the fire is not really blitz fault even though they seemed to imply that and probably other stuff i don't feel like explaining. All the female characters always seem to get the shorter end of the stick so im doubtful their do more with verosika than just the ex.

Awesome design as always, the face design makes him so intimidating but intriguing and mixed with his jokey persona it all fits so perfectly :,). Also the theory of him being half succubus imp just has to be canon, it makes so much sense seeing how much game he has, but in general the mix of greed and lust is very interesting to me, i can't say why but i feel like these two sins just make a very good combo

I really like Blitz, I think he’s such an interesting character!! Obviously I would hate him if he was a real person, but as a character he works lol. I don't like the fact that he didn’t start the fire on purpose though, I think that was such a cop-out so the audience would forgive him faster... He’s a complex character, let him BE complex! Let him take terrible life-ruining decisions and actually try to make amends! EDIT: I forgot to say that I love your redesign!!! If you want to do a whole video about how scars work I would love to watch it lol

as soon as I got the notification of blitzø's redesign, i just couldn't wait for school to be over in order to watch it, and i've got to say, i absolutely adore how he turned out! I appreciated how much research you put into his scars, and it was such a treat to listen to. (super curious as to how you wrote stolas's and blitzø's relationship cuz in the show it's... definitely something)

Now this is a redesign! Personally, I always liked Blizø's design because it was very distinct, and fun. But you made it ten times better, I absolutely love his burnt scars, makes him pretty spooky actually. The chipped horn is a nice touch, and making him half succubus is an interesting take [New favorite theory/ headcanon]. Also, I'm really glad that I'm not the only one who isn't very fawn of Blitzø and Stoles relationship, you can tell that the show wants us to root for them but I personally just can't. I think it be interesting if Stoles feelings for him were genuine, but Blitzø's isn't, but he feels kinda bad [kinda] for using Stoles. However, even till the end of the show, they still don't end up together, because Blitzø genuinely has not feelings for Stoles, unlike Stoles dose for Blitzø.

0:25 You know, I think his outfit could still be remained like (tho not totally like it's just nods of the clown core.) that because it's not only a form of internalised that the circus even tho a painful memory still was a reflex of his own and even more a nod to how his past still haunted him and it's actually a fun idea to play with because once his arc is done he could get a different style of clothing showing he got over his past and actually changed not only externally but internally as he finally let go of the circus theme.

Blitz is self destructive with most of the things in his life, mostly because of the cirucs incident, bad dad, and probably a few other things. Since scars are drawn in a rather stylized way for ease of animating it

5:02 honestly the only other way i could see what was intended by that sentence was like an "i had to help someone that i was more scared of losing" kind of deal, cuz yeah if you're faced with a situation where you need to save either your childhood friend or your family, considering blitzo it makes sense why he went for his mother first, especially since from what we know of his past and his dad definitely hung his mother over his head as a guilt tripping tactic more than once. But even then, geez they could have worded it better in the script, like maybe change it from thet to something like "i was afraid of losing my mom" or something similar to that.

This just works so well with the story and background so much! This by far, has to be my favorite!

I headcannon that the scars are emotional more than physical. That would explain why they heal from everything else they go through but the scars they have never healed. It would also explain why the scars on blitz is body don't match the burn scene and are strangely semeteical . It's a mental scar.

Also, about that “You don’t know what I lost in that fire” line, I believe that it wasn’t referring to their compared injuries, but to Fiz’s accusation that Blitz started the fire on purpose because he was jealous of Fizz. Blitz saying that line was him saying that they both ultimately suffered because of the fire, so it wasn’t a targeted attack on Fizz, and that’s why the moment resonated - it was a mutual disaster for them both.

That comment on Zuko's scar just made me think, would you ever think about redesigning the ATLA characters?

I wondered just now while watching. What if Blitz, during his circus years, tried a horse act? Say, during his time, he tried convincing his dad to let him ride a horse or somehow use it as part of the show, only for Crash to turn him down, harshly. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but with how much he loves horses, and hearing of other circuses having them around, maybe he can argue to have them be apart of the show. It sounds strange so you can ignore it, but I thought it was a thought.

I’m sorry if this comes across as offensive, but the way his burn marks look has always kinda rubbed me the wrong way. It looks like his just spilled some paint on himself, rather than being in a team of accident. I love your re-design, he looks like an actual assassin! Great job!

This redesign is awesome. I love it when people draw characters who have suffered serious burns with accurate scarring. Kinda like the more realistic interpretations of Jeff the Killer or Jane the Killer. Like those two would not look pretty. They'd look more like Freddy Krueger.
