I think this happened to everyone who handles equipment with emergency stops at some point. been on that point too. but what i find "stupid" is, that you can even turn over the engine with it engages... The starter should not even work with the button pushed.

I'd also expect the emergency stop to simply cut power alltogether, not just disable the ignition. If there was a problem with the remote so that it kept trying to turn the engine over, you'd want atheE-stop to disable that too: cut the power completely. It's also a little odd that the guy on the phone didn't first ask "did you check the E-stop?" A bit like "did you try turning it off and on again?" Because that seems the most likely cause for a non-starting engine.

@Donna M Schmid, I'm a marine engineer and in one of the drawers of my toolbox, I've got loads of plugs and stops, some of them are handmade, to stop oil lines, fuel lines and even air inlets because its happened to often that a nut or bolt gets dropped and sure as hell, it will find its way into the pipe or opening. Then it means opening up the oil or fuel tank or I've even had to remove the inlet manifold and turbocharger off an engine because of a lost bolt! A tiny bit of precautions can save days of extra work! Or as my old Journeyman would say.... Prior Preparation and Planning, Prevents Piss Poor Performance! 😂😂😂😂✊👍✌

Had a plumber come for an issue with my grinder pump. Before he started he asked if "flushable" wipes were used. I proudly let him know that they were never used since I learned all about wipes from the Drain Addict.

that would have helped for sure, but it should be common practice to leave he E-stop pushed in at end of the day. of course, I used them years ago when they would shut down the whole large shop or plant of equipment! sometimes divided to small areas or single machines. force of habit or me is A) check for disconnect, B) check for E-button.

I did exactly the same a few months back. I packed everything up, went and got the battery tested and then realised it was the E Stop hahaha. I wasted 2 hrs. Got back to the job and told the customer we had a laugh and then got her drain all sorted.
For what it's worth Ollie, you might be able to wire a 12V LED indicator to run from that E-stop so that if it's pushed in, and key on, it'll light to warn you that the E-Stop is engaged. I personally love E-stops because I'm super safety conscious, but even I can't really understand why that machine has one when the ignition key is *right* there, where even a passing layperson could see it and see the giant geyser of water shooting out or whatever, run over and hit that key. The E-Stop is usually my first stop when that happens. Simply for the same reason that it will now be yours. I did the same thing on a crane about 10 years ago. Spent 4 hours trying to figure out why it wouldn’t start. When I realized I bumped it with my knee getting out of the crane the night before. Guys at work roasted me for a long time about that one. What makes you think they didn't? It's just one of those things that you never touch during normal operation so you forget about it. I'm sure that if there was an emergency problem, Ollie would turn it off at the key instead of the button, simply because he never touches the button.

The dreaded E-Stop...gets me a lot, too. Always nice when the fix is free, though! Also, it seems like it's pretty careless of the contractors to just dump stuff down the drain (or let it go down). You'd think plugging that with a cloth or something would be one of the first steps

Awe man......well it’s pretty cool that you still showed us even when you make a mistake. No big deal. It happens. I’m not use to twist lock emergency stops. All the ones I’ve seen are usually just push or pull to stop. That twist part is a new trick. Lol.

I run a commercial refrigeration company and we deal with quite a number of concealed drain pipings. These pipings always choke due to things fall inside or growth of algae and causing lots of problem. Before watching this channel, I was actually looking for a drain snake to clear it, particularly the one by Milwaukee which can change drum. Fortunately after watching these, I manage to save thousands since I can do it with a electric water jet and jet hoses. Keep up the good work mate!

As a small engine mechanic myself the guy on the phone doesn't sound like he knows what he's talking about at all. A fuel injected engine can absolutely 100% get flooded and he saying that it can't I'm not saying i know what is wrong without looking at it myself but that guy doesn't seem like he knows what he's talking about. That is so true how I get really invested with this type of work ever since I started watching Ollie and the gang do their thing so well. (I work at a company in the US that manufactures remote control systems similar to that one!) ...one morning I spent a LONG time troubleshooting why my reflow oven wouldn't turn on...wander around, check the breaker panel, all OK there... I was about ready to open the oven's wiring panel and start testing when I looked over and saw the E-stop and decided to check... Apparently someone bumped it earlier. It gets us all at some point. 🤪 They really should come up with a better E-stop design that makes it more noticeable if it's been activated.

DA needs another tool: a super long masonry clog clearing bit, one that is extendable and can bend around corners and powers itself and won’t damage the drain and doesn’t have an emergency stop button. Best channel on RU-vid! Cheers.
lol. step one, make sure "oh noes stop is pulled". granted, I've dealt with and used "oh noes" 💩 emergency stops since a kid. on occasion I still get tripped up for a very short while. we always left the red e-stop buttons depressed when equipment was powered off and still do(if it has them) it's a good habit to help curb accidental starting of equipment.
People think I'm being condescending to them when I troubleshoot by starting with the most simple stuff like this but it ends up saving the most amount of time and stress
I kept thinking that the Emergency Button looked like it was pressed in, but thought, it shouldn't as why would Ollie have to press it as he always has a smoth run with the engine especially it's a new one. lol Well, I guess we all make that slightly embarrassing mistake lol. You don't know how many times I accidently forgot the E-stop on a piece of equipment I tried starting, lol. Also, as mechanic for 30 plus years, I can say absolutely that a fuel injected engine can flood out. Any engine can flood out. I used to have to pull my injector fuse on a Mazda I personally used to own, to burn off the fuel in the engine. There was a leaky injector or something that would cause it to not start after to many hours of sitting.
If A Honda doesnt start on the second try you got a issue. I saw the emergency stop button. Lol I loved when you started your truck leaving the Honda place the look on your cell phone from your son screen saver " you big dummy"
During construction, here in Canada, it's common practice to block drains with either a cap or an inflatable balloon, so sewer gases don't just come in, and nothing bad goes down the drain.... This is either a DIY bathroom reno, or a lazy contractor.
