The oxygen to fuel ratio is critical .. If you've ever watched tv show Mythbuster's.. they did an experiment where an entire room was filled with vaporized and liquid gasoline a spark lighter.. It would not explode until the ratio was in the correct range... and of course the engine will stop running once the pressure in the exhaust and combustion chamber somewhat equalize.. A fun experiment .. Would have been interesting to see the results of slowing closing the valve..
I remember seeing that one. They had it in gear and were cranking the snot out of the starter and it was driving around at about 1/2 a mile per hour. I can't find it with a quick google search. The electric starter motors are NOT meant to be run for long periods of time, and they fry pretty quickly.
This. Actually I'd just suggest the car being jacked up in the air, flooring it in 4th, then close the valve. Fit some overly heavy wheels for the best result. :D

I love this shit. Every other channel that does this sort of thing would have the car set up behind plexiglass or something in case of an explosion, with everyone there wearing safety goggles of course. These guys stand there in the classic "light the firework and run" pose, trying harder and harder to make it explode. This is awesome.
The pressure will be high, but it won't keep going up indefinitely. For a compression ratio of 10 to 1 you'll have at most 28 atmospheres, above that the hot residual gas at top dead center of the exhaust cycle will be able to expand and keep any new air from being drawn in on the intake. I say "hot" not because there will be any combustion happening at that point, but because compressing it will increase the temperature. That might be enough to burst the muffler, but it probably wouldn't lock up the wheels etc.
youre all ( i'm 99% sure) wrong. if it builds up enough pressure in the exhaust sytem, the back pressure will actually open the exhaust valve back open a bit and bleed back into the engine. And with positive pressure in the combustion chamber and nothing (like a turbo etc.) to force it back in, it will just blow the extra pressure out the carb. now if that point is before or after the muffler surrenders...thats a different test.
Did you see the news that someone flat towed a new 2021 Jeep in 4-lo? Exploded the bottom of the engine block and tranny. Tranny was in 1st also, so engine was running at 55,000 rpm when towed at highway speed.
"Leads" and, yes, one coil wire was disconnected. You'd be amazed at how well some engines can run with a dead cylinder. The fewer cylinders, the less you'll notice right off the bat. Also, it's a Lada, and he has many, do you really think he cares that much about it?
should try this under load, I always blew the mufflers off my truck when I was running fairly fast killing the ignition leaving it in gear then turning the ignition back on while still rolling in gear
That's a backfire, unburnt gas in the muffler ignites, BOOM! I had a truck with bad charging regulator (Dodge 440) and turning on the headlights made it backfire, loud AF like a 12 gauge! :-D
That was their problem when they were trying to get a backfire IIn the muffler. The engine kept filling it with exhaust until it stalled, but if they had the engine turning, drawing in air and fuel freely, without igniting it, they would have had a serious bang. More so if they had somehow managed to get 5 atmospheres of unburned air and fuel inside the muffler.
Put two on a small exhaust and rev one up and see which stalls first and if one stays running, then try that but with a valve to make them feed into each other
Even old ones do that look up hake brakes and they work different by holding the exhaust valve on the cylinder head closed until top dead center where it then opens quickly and lets the pressure out

5:45 I have the exact same compression tester and one of eight cylinders from my 68 Roadrunner makes over twice that pressure just being cranked over by the starter.

Try to direct the exhaust gas into a large gas cylinder from which the carburetor gets its fresh air, should work like a turbo charger until all oxygen is used up.
Weld some air tanks into the exhaust and try using different air tools. For example a impact wrench to change wheels or paint gun to paint the car on exhaust gases.
Is it possible to add a dpf to the tailpipe of an old diesel that didn't come with a dpf originally? And is it theoretically possible to just scrape the coal out of the dpf and use it as fuel?
I'm wondering about an old prank I used to hear about. Taking a large potatoes and cramming it into the tailpipe. Will it stall the engine or launch it out? I enjoyed this video. I never know what I'll see next..... Be well.
You know how the exhaust builds up pressure you should see if you could have a air tank compressed by the car so if your tire goes flat you can just use the compressed air from the engine. Would love to see it 👍
