I'm 61 years of age but still remember the first time I saw Blondie and Debbie Harry in my early Teens. She was every teenage boy's fantasy. But more so than that especially when you see the groups live performances, they were an awsome live band and as far as Debbie's singing goes just listen. She has a tremendous voice. Not one bum note and really captures the audience . Brilliant frontman/woman. Cant think of anybody in her era that performed any better. She has it all❤
Can't argue with that synopsis. Obviously she is the tallented sassy 'lady' of every red blooded male (and beyond) fantasy? But I prefer to 'like' the total band output. Theyare still pulling it off aren't they. My only xp was Liverpool 'Eat To The Beat' tour (1979/1980?) My God why did we leave our gig tickets in our jeans as they went through the wash in that era? Answer: Because we did not give a F+-Ck about anything but the memories
I was baffled to find out he also played with Eurythmics. Go see their 1987 Sydney show here on RU-vid, he is so in the pocket and fits this music so well, it's unbelievable. If you can't be arsed, here's a time mark and just watch/listen for a couple of minutes: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tkya2wUEaUY.html
I've never seen him get all the accolades he deserves. I think it's because that time in music was so varied and when drum machines got so prevalent a couple years later, the focus shifted more towards makeup and clothing, as in the New Romantics. MTV featured glammed up vids more than they did straight up rock. So Clem kind of fell into a space between punk, new wave, and classic rock. He is so tight in his drumming! IMHO, he can stand with Keith Moon et al...
It's not just her looks and singing skills, it's Debbie's performance and mannerisms every time, the lady and the whole band are truly something special
WOW! Faves ... Man Overboard, Slow Motion, Rip Her to Shreds. I love the punk sensibility of the band, Clem's drumming and Frank's guitar. Plus Debbie's raw unedited vocals - her punk roots are still strong at this time. This is gold.
Just really switched on to Blondie as a 49 year old.Totaly bypassed them as a youth What a great band they where/are and Debbies such a natural singer and performer. Can now see why they are so successful after years of ignorance on my part.
Throughout all her success she stayed true to herself, a fascinating lady. Queen of pop hands down. As for the drummer, he loves his drums and they love him.
@@stupidtreehugger Here you go again about Debbie Harry not being a mother as if that's all a woman is good for. She had a career. She worked for a living. She wasn't the house wife type.
LEGENDARY, what an iconic woman, I absolutely Adore this incredible woman. Grew up with her I’m now 55 & my love for hers never changed was always going around singing the tide is high 🤗 Admire her so much. Debbie Harry is marvellous. 💓
her eyes are hypnotic Luckily for me I found her right after they released their first album BLONDIE then fell in love with Plastic Letters. They Lyric to the songs go so much deeper then most people give them credit for. There will always only be One Blondie no other artist comes close to them even today with all the modern tech that makes music easier.
Incredible show! The set list leaves off that they did "X-Offender" after "In The Sun," before coming back with "Band A Gong (Get It On)" as an encore. Many thanks to whoever posted this gem.
I was there, the sound was so much better and she looked so much better live. They were awesome ! 💥 It is very great someone recorded it anyways. Here's to you Debbie and the band.🌹
I was at this concert. Back home from freshman year at Boston University, working at Six Flags Great Adventure. Great to be able to revisit one of my favorite concerts. The first of several Blondie shows I’ve seen over the years.
Although Debbie Harry was short (5'3) her body was so perfectly proportioned that she appeared to be an Amazonian model. She had the body, the face, the amazing voice, fantastic songwriting skills and such a unique personality. That's why she is such an icon and still being discussed in 2019. She is truly a one-of-a-kind and an American Treasure.
Oh, and BTW, no, we all failed her. She made no babies. She's going to be a rotting corpse in the ground while loads of untalented fuckwits festton the World
Are you stupid or something? Do you actually think the poster will read your comment? Possible I suppose, but unlikely. And you didn't even address it to them. What is it like, in your universe where everywhere you turn it's a mirror of your pretty face?
I was eleven going on twelve that summer, a HUGE Blondie fan, and living about 40 minutes away from Asbury Park. I would have gone absolutely out of my mind with joy to be there for this show! Didn't get to see them until 36 years later in 2015 at MSG, and they rocked every bit as hard! Thank you so much for posting this to show me what I missed way back then.
We really like some of their songs. We like her voice, great sense of rhythm, wit and the way they have utilized their talents. Hope she ages gracefully.
Как классно, Анжелллииии!!!!, здоровья Вам и творческих успехов... Спасибо Вам и группе!!! Такая Вы классная!!! Манера на сцене даже под эти наши года просто класс!!!!!
