They excluded Maelor from the show, and they didn't tie up Alicent, and I am *pissed!* If this continues into the next episode, then the rest of this series is *dead* to me!
I think the real question people should ask about the Dance of the Dragons is 'was it worth it?' The deaths of several innocent children, hundreds of innocent people being burned alive, and many dragons losing their lives for what? Who deserves to sit on a stupidly uncomfortable seat?
@@rahulsingh6230 No it’s not. He was an innocent boy. Murdering him doesn’t bring Luke back. An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind and it was misplaced vengeance. Kill Aemond not an innocent boy. Daemon is a monster end of.
@@stephen8805 I mean Aemond is to blame .. he started the kin slaying which is frowned upon in Westeros . Anemond killed his younger nephew who he knew was only an envoy and not a fighter . Aemond being mad over his eye , when he also attacked lucerys in the fight . Aemond was bigger than Lucerys , it was self defense.
People in comments be like Daemon just gives justice / revenge for Lucerys. Alicent wanted the same justice for her 10 years son but they're calling her heartless and monster. Hypocrisy …
Okay...I miss the correlation. Luke took Aemond's eye after he watches a much older Aemond beat the shit out of his brother. I am totally on Alicent's side as I'd be pissed too and probably would've tried to take Luke's eye myself. However...you jumped from Aemond losing his eye to Blood and Cheese...did you conveniently forget that Aemond coldly kills Luke unprovoked? Even if I look at Aemond oops moment on the show, if Luke's defense of his brother isn't an excuse, than neither is not knowing that your two hundred year old battle worn dragon won't listen to you after you stupidly rile her up. This is why Blood and Cheese happens. And eye for an eye is just that it's not an eye for a murder.
@@janellejulianajoy don’t forget that Luke, his brother and 2 other children attacked Aemond first, all ganging up on him and hitting him. He had to grab that rock to stop them and in the end he hesitated and started to lower it back down. Luke still slashed his face open and didn’t even apologize, just hid behind his mother while she asked Aemond to be tortured for saying her sons are bastards, which is the truth everyone knew. Of course Aemond would still be angry after having to live the rest of his life with a rock in his head and given no justice or comfort
@@silverscales6634 And that justifies killing him? Antagonizing him while they're on the brink of war? Why would Aemond be that stupid?! Everyone knew what would happen next. Alicent starts to cry for a reason and I don't think her tears were for Luke, she knows hell is coming for them. Aemond is mad? Beat Luke's ass, it wouldn't be hard. No, he killed him and this directly leads to Blood and Cheese. Though none of this would've happened had the Green's stayed in their lane. They didn't. They brought this shit on themselves.
@@janellejulianajoy it doesn’t justify killing him but it justifies the reason he antagonized and chased him in the storm. In the show (not the books) Aemond didn’t want to kill him, he wanted to terrify him. But Arrax attacked Vhaghar and she got mad. Vhaghar had felt Aemond’s pain when he lost an eye, she felt his rage when they chased Luke in the storm and she is a proud and protective dragon. The moment Arrax attacked she couldn’t be stopped anymore, she wanted revenge for both herself and her rider. Now I don’t care about Allicent’s reaction or Daemond’s, that’s another story, I told you why Aemond followed Luke in the storm. It wasn’t a good decision, not very rational either but his want for revenge is understandable when all he was given is suffering and humiliation at his nephew’s hands
@@WorldOfWesteros i doubt their will be a resolution this season finale..I'm just not sure how long they can stretch this story arc out for. I'm really enjoying this show.
Why did Queen Helaena take her children up to see Queen Alicent before bedtime anyway? Was it to say goodnight or so the children’s grandmother could bond with them for a bit?
Every single night Helaena would take the kids up to say goodnight to their grandmother and bond with them. Basically, yes. It was a nightly ritual and cheese and blood knew it
They shouldn't have been there. Period. They were stupid. They feared Daemon more than anyone, yes? Alicent, Helaena and those children should've been far away from King's Landing. In the book, Otto and Alicent are scared shitless once they learn what Aemond did. Not out of remorse but because hell was coming for them and this hell will be led by Daemon Targaryen. A man who would stop at nothing to end them all. I can't really drag Daemon for something I expect, something they knew he was capable of as well. They underestimated his reach.
@@janellejulianajoy Ugh, man, stop making excuses for Daemon. Just because of that they should have left their home? Who whould have thought that he will target children? They all thought that they were safe in their home. This was an act of cowardice, nothing more than that.
Alicent was a hypocrite for crying when she should be happy that a kid of her "enemy" is dead and for sure her "enemy" is sad. 🙃 And Nyra's revenge is so soft that she didn't kill or took advantage of Aemond's wife and kids. 😑 They should have kidnapped them all. This is one of the reasons why Nyra is no good as a queen.
She wept because she herself was a mother and also knew that there was going to be war. It was no longer a dynastic dispute, it was an all out kill or be killed scenario.
This was a wasted opportunity in my opinion. This was a golden opportunity to truly cripple the greens with a decisive blow. They should have assassinated Aegon II or Otto, or kidnapped Alicent to use as a hostage.
If they were being sensible definitely should have gone for someone more high profile, but in essence the dance is a very personal vendetta so the whole son for a son thing makes sense with the queens mo, even if it doesn’t make sense
That would’ve made the most strategic sense and also would’ve evened the score if they killed Aegon or Otto.Thing is like the channel guy said Daemon wanted the symbolic blow of killing an innocent son for an innocent son(Lucerys went to Storm’s end as an envoy not as a soldier)
@@peepinR I defiantly don’t won’t them to change anything but maybe ease on the gore. There are many ways to “show” it without actually showing us a little boys head being chopped off. I have a hard time imagining executives signing off on that lol

If they held back because of fear of being cancelled, then seriously people are such snowflakes, they can't even handle acting, lmao. They should put on a disclaimer at the start of the show, that no characters were harmed during filming of the show, lmao. It's all fictional in bold and all caps. DISAPPOINTING!!!
Is hilarious how they sell this as Red Wedding on the way how Heleana IS shock like Cat and Robb DOESNT WORK BECAUSE SHE SEE NOTHING LOL thats why red wedding works because we see like 10 deaths in 1 sec This is bad writing make me laugh because they put Alicent riding
Aemond started the whole circus show. He’s the first one to kill a major kin from the other side. Even Otto was perplexed, it’s distasteful and uncalled. Not strategic. This started the bloodshed and undying vengeance, ultimately almost eliminating their whole bloodline.
The boy Luce got what he deserved for taking out Aemond's eye. I believe Alicent and Aemond ATLEAST deserved an apology. But Rhynera played the "questioning the legitimacy of my sons is treason" card to rather blame Alicent itself. Aemond killing Luce is not justified, but understandable. The little kid that Daemon killed (and her mother) did no harm to the blacks.

@@ricardomadleno564 The purpose of the war was the law of succession. it doesn't matter if Aegon III became king, in fact he has every right to be since his father is a targaryen. The civil war only cemented the rule of male primogeniture for the next 200 years which means that on the ideological level, the greens kinda won. So yeah, in the end the war was not a win for any party at all. Aegon III was a broken 11 year old kid who inherited a weak kingdom with no dragons, in fact the last ones died during his reign.
I would have been more forgiving of HBO toning down the scene if they'd had it where Helena chooses Jaeherya, but they keep the twist of having them kill the other child instead. And have it so we then cut to Alicent and Criston, and their lovemaking is suddenly interrupted by the sound of Helena's gutwrenching scream. They then burst into the room to find Helena screaming and rocking her daughter while drenched in blood.
Brother you know better direction than the director of the episode In fact i would add a shadow figure of Heleana holding the headless body just like the book but not showing the gore just the shadows of both 10/10 BUT THE ACTUAL EPISODE IS HILARIOUS
It’s insane to me how you ppl complain about one event when there’s literally thousands and is even more ridiculous cuz you’ll then still tune into watching all the remaining episodes. Never stopping but still bitching you’d think there’s some incentive here. I just don’t understand why complain when you could just not, does misery love company so much that this bs is fun?
i had a simular feeling the first time a read fire and blood. I've seen a trend where people start of backing Rhaenyra, Then swap to Aegon, then by the end of the war you kinda realise near everyone sucks.
I'm guessing that queen hellana or the greens was obviously also horrified with what amon "one eye" did (also what what augons house name? If it were a GOLDEN dragon on a black banner then what was the name?) But what I DEEPLY want to know. what was rhaeneras reaction to her nephews death? I mean if MOST of the greens were horrified with her sons death I'd like to know hers
I don't know if they were horrified by what Aemond had done, but more so that it turned a political war, into an all-out war. They knew there would be payback for what Aemond did. In terms of the banner, both sides were claiming to be house Targaryen, but to make it easier on the battlefield both had their own custom banners. I tend to think that Rhaenera's reaction was probably quite happy, at this point she'd already started to crack a bit. I do wonder how much of what really happened got back to her other than the prince was killed.
@@WorldOfWesteros so kinds like the "blackfyre rebellions" ? & kinda ironic that she'd be happy about HIS death, but when poor maelor was killed she sudden pulled "he was still blood of the dragon"
I'm really dreading watching this scene. This almost put me off watching the show in the first place. I'm very curious how the show will handle this. Specifically, how much of the scheme was to Daemon's design and how much was Mysaria's. Did Daemon intend for the murder to happen the way it did, or was there miscommunication or changing of his orders by Mysaria. Considering how the show handled the death of Lucerys, I imagine Daemon's orders were different than what Blood and Cheese ended up doing. Nevertheless, even as a Black supporter, I find it impossible to view Daemon as anything more than a monster for ordering these murders. If he wanted justice for Luke, why not target Aemond or Aegon than an innocent child?
Well, the show had an interesting adaptation. They made it more brutal through SFX of Blood chopping through the boy's neck, but the beheading was entirely off screen. What was lost was the book seemed to be inspired by one of the tales of Queen Anne Boleyn's execution where the swordsman distracted her as to make sure the cut was clean. Blood and Cheese did something similar before Blood beheaded Jaeherys.
Blacks are wrong here Bcuz they killed an innocent child who knew nothing, Luke was in the game so as his brother but not baelor, jahaeya & jahaerys they were totally innocent, but for luke he took Aemond's eye & then only years after he got killed thAt suits him, he deserved it. AEMOND only wanted what he owes to luke
@@Heisenberg882 Luke was an envoy on a peace mission, who had literally sworn to take no part in fighting. And no, I'm not justifying B&C in any way, everyone involved in that deserves a horrible death, but killing Luke wasn't right either
@@anatoldenevers237 Asking lords to join their armies to your cause to march against your enemies is not a f*cking peace mission, it's preparation for war and rebellion wich no ruler can tolerate. It's such a silly misconception that Luke was some peaceful messenger and absurd idea that Aemond has to spare him because he is an "envoy". No from Aemond's perspective he was a rebel to his king and family and a legitimate target. The only one who owed Luke any protection was Lord Baratheon because he came as an envoy to negotiate with him, he was not an envoy to Aemond. If the Lannisters had captured one of Robb's or Stannis's messengers trying to raise armies against them, of course they wouldn't spare them. There is a rule that you shouldn't harm diplomats who you negotiate with like Otto Hightower when he came to Dragonstone, not that you need to spare diplomats who actively try to prepare for war against you like Luke at Storm's End.

I somehowe have a feeling they will mellow this down, because they already said they dont wanna much sex and violence like in GOT. But hope im wrong and they will do justice to the story, the childbirth sceens were also disturbing and this is one of the most important events that leads to the madness of so many characters. In the red wedding pregnant Tulisa was not there in the books, and that add more tragic to the story in the show, so i hope they will do justice to this scene. I know its brutal but its important. Didnt read the books i know all the spoilers so im prepared, i guess 🤦🏼♀️☹️.
They can't leave that out. GOT is one of the most violent shows I've ever watched and the events of Fire and Blood makes that series pale in comparison.
I'm team black but it was moment when I lost sympathy for Daemon. Helena and her children were innocent and Luke's death wasn't their fault. I understood Jacaerys's idea - attack and kill Vhagar and Aemond because they're guilty
@@katarzynaowczarek3297 It wasn't just revenge on Aemond... Rhaenyra was the leader of the Black faction...Her SON was killed....Aegon 2 was the leader of the Green faction...HIS SON MUST DIE
When Daemon said a son for a son I didn’t know it was gonna be this brutal. The Greens landed their first blows and they were effective but the Blacks definitely got them back twice as bad. Cruel but effective is the perfect way to describe Blood and Cheese. Also because Helaena went mad and she could not ride her dragon Dreamfyre because of this. So not only did they get their revenge but they also killed two birds with one stone by eliminating a dragon from the Green side. I personally doubt Helaena would have gotten on her dragon and burned people alive but her being unable to ride him gave the Blacks more assurance just in case
Daemon doesn't care. He's never had an emotional connection to any of those kids because of their existence as they pushed him further down the line as heir. Now, I don't think he woke up grinning saying "let's kill one of my nieces or nephews today!". He simply got the green light to react....finally. He could've simply killed Aemond or Aegon, but, he wanted it to hurt the way Rhaenyra was hurting. It's cruel but effective. This literally throws them off their game. Aegon becomes more active in the war, physically, after his sons death leading to his extreme injuries that puts him out of the war for close to a year.
A blunder from Daemon regardless, Then he continues more blundering by splitting the numerical advantage of dragons they had. Really showed how daemon was willing to go all in for glory , something aemond shared (Targaryen madness)

This might make sense. Daemon and Rhaenyra don’t stand much to gain from killing one of Aegon’s sons. He has two and a daughter, and two at the time healthy and strong dragon rider brothers. Daemon and Aemond were intense rivals, and their vitriol would surely be directed at each other, not to mention I’m not even sure Daemon gave a damn about one of the Velaryon boys getting killed since that put his own sons further up in the line of succession. Larys Clubfoot on the other hand absolutely would stand to gain by preventing any reconciliation between the blacks and greens. Murdering an innocent child is exactly the kind of move that would prevent any kind of peace that might have come about through a repudiation of Aemond’s action.
Yet another Green mistake and brutal ruthlessness, don't really get it when someone says team Green... all of it done by Otto & Aemond. Years of insults, attacks, stolen dragon and what else not, everything thats happened to them they deserved.
People in the comments are wild. This is a religious following what the blacks have. How can you even compare Aemond killing a felow dragon rider, who maimed him for life, to a 6 years old child being decapitated in front of his mom. I couldn't give two shits about greens or blacks but these people have turned me into a full time Green supporter. I just hope they don't think this way in real life lol.
Yes people are ridiculous. How they can possibly justify a 6 year old being decapitated in front of its mother is crazy. This was the thing that made me switch sides in the books. Well I didn't necessarily want Aegon II to win, I just wanted Daemon dead
@@samdetroper9118 I mean, I love Daemon, in the sense that he's an amazing character, but yeah, he deserved to die in the worst ways possible for this. He didn't deserve the epic death he got.
This will definitely be the “Red Wedding” of HOTD. This was the “point of no return” for any hope of peaceful resolution. It’s easy to imagine word of this atrocity reaching everyone in the realm and every individual immediately realizing that Westeros is about to be plunged into fire and blood!
i think we need to remember that these are child actors, they cannot show how gruesome the killing was since they need to consider how traumatizing that may be for a kid. even the hand covering the kid’s mouth was his fathers
It kind of makes sense to me why they didn't assassinate Aegon, or Otto because that wouldn't be the end of the business. Killing Aegon would essentially make Aemond king who is a far better fit for the Iron Throne than his older brother. And Otto would be replaced as Hand to decisive effect by Criston Cole. So for the assassinations of Aegon and Otto to mean anything strategic, you'd also have to kill Aemond and Criston.
Exactly why it should have just been Aemond assassinated instead. He was both the guilty party and the most dangerous player for the greens. He was also probably less well protected than any of the aforementioned others too. With him dead Vhagar also does not have a rider, effectively removing her from the equation as well. Killing Jahaerys was the symbolic move, but not the correct one strategically. Killing Aemond might have ended the war right there. Sunfyre, Dreamfyre and Tessarion aren't standing up to six dragons, especially if Meleys and Caraxes are two of those six.
This wasn't strategy...this was straight rage. Killing Aegon, Aemond or Otto would make more sense but the point is to make it hurt. They could've simply kidnapped one of the children but they purposely made sure Alicent and Helaena watched as it happened. This was Lannister level of cruelty and it was completely intended.
@George East I can't imagine that Aemond would have had much trouble with a hulking, older outcast from the City Watch and a slippery rat catcher. Daemon would know all too well that Aemond was the best soldier the Greens had at their disposal but if there were any other team, any other avenue of assassination I agree that the Black's should've targeted Aemond.
@Cherylle Johnson Daemon absolutely is the weak link of the Blacks, he's impulsive and violent, I think that's actually a literal quote from Otto in the show and it's an instance I actually agree with Hightower.
@@evannesbitt7852 Yes in a fight scenario Aemond wouldn't have had much trouble with Blood and Cheese, but this is assassination. They would kill him while he's sleeping or attack him when he's alone with no weapons. Or simply poison him. Blacks chose the wrong person to take revenge. I could understand them if they directly assassinated Aegon or Aemond, but killing a defenseless child... It wasn't Jaehaerys who killed Lucerys, man, come on! I think the gods cursed them for what they did💔

Helaena is not like Cat. She wants no part in it but she's in it because she's married to Aegon. Helaena could never have stopped this without dying herself, and one of her son's die anyway.
Bingo!!! This isn't about avenging Luke...not really. This is years of hatred Daemon has housed within himself towards Otto.and the Green's. Also keep in mind he thinks they poisoned Viserys, the one person I truly think he would torch the world for. And he used children in the most disgusting way possible. The moment Alicent wore her green dress at Rhaenyra wedding I would have lost my shit. Declaring war against my daughter because you’re feelings are hurt? @@WorldOfWesteros I think that is what is going to happen. The series added the whole Mysaria and Otto subplot for a reason. We see in episode nine that Mysaria loses her home. Surely you can see how ordering the death of a child who played no part in the crime for which he is being punished makes absolutely no fucking sense, not only in the matters of justice but also of strategic value. Want to get back at what Aemond did while still being able to claim justice? Simple, order them to kill Aegon II or Aemond when he is back at King's Landing. The fact that you, a real person, openly declares that would order the death of all three children and their mother is fucking messed up.
If they planned it better, they could have kidnapped Heleana and her children as hostages and smuggled them out of the city. It would have discredited the Greens, while keeping the high ground in public opinion.
The plan wasn’t really to hold a hostage tho. It was to make the Greens suffer the way Rhaenyra did. If they lost a son, that means Aegon had to lose one
This is where Daemon lost all respect from me. Yes, it's "son for a son", but Aemond did challenge Lucerys to a duel first, and when Lucerys didn't accept, Aemond chased him with a dragon. Now it can be said that he caught Lucerys by surprise, but Lucerys still had a dragon. It was still more of a fight. What Daemon did here is just pure murder, of a child that is. I can never forgive this. I'm so glad that the Rhaenyra became so hated by the people and called her Maegor with tits. The Blacks were full of hypocrites.
It wasn't a fair fight. Arrax was much smaller than Vhagar. No way he would have been able to fight her. They were both ambushed by Vhagar and Aemond and the storm was also working against Luke and Arrax. There was no way he could have won that fight. The only hope he had was if Arrax could outfly Vhagar but the weather made sure that was not going to happen. It was a dirty move by Aemond on the greens' part. They were already wrong by usurping the throne from Rhaenyra and hiding the truth about her father's death from her so she wouldn't come to King's Landing to officially claim her place on the Iron throne. Then they killed her son. Rhaenyra did not want a war. She initially chose diplomacy and despatched her sons to peacefully gather support from the noble houses to reclaim her birthright that was stolen from her and even decreed that her half brothers be pardoned for their part in conspiring against her. Instead she only held Alicent and Otto responsible for this act of treason. Regardless of whether Aemond acted on his own or with the support of the rest of the greens it was murder nonetheless. They should have expected that this crime would not go unpunished.
Also the only reason Rhaenyra was hated by the people of King's Landing was because the greens had poisoned them against her, just like how Cersei had poisoned the people against Dany making them hate her before she even took the city. Rhaenyra was already at a disadvantage because the people have favoured her half-brother over her ever since he was a baby simply because she's a woman. Aegon wasn't a worthy king. He had never done anything to earn their support. They just supported him because he's a man. Sure, Rhaenyra herself did not help matters. Her having bastard children with Harwin Strong was stupid and careless, but given that she was forced to marry a gay man, could you really blame her? Also, during her actual reign after she successfully took back the Iron throne, albeit briefly, the war had taken a massive toll on the people's morale and the entire country. The treasury had been plundered and depleted leading to her having to make drastic and unpopular decisions that would inevitably place her at further odds with the people. The greens also falsely accused her of Queen Consort Helaena's murder when it was in fact suicide. All these things that were absolutely beyond her control was what drove the people to hate and rebel against her. But if you go back far enough, none of this would have happened if the greens had respected the late King Viserys' decision for Rhaenyra to succeed him upon his death. Rhaenyra would have ascended the throne without any contest or bloodshed and all would be well within the realm. The greens were greedy, jealous (just as their name suggests) and spiteful and they started the war. Not the blacks. Also, Aemond stealing Vhagar right after Laena's funeral was downright disrespectful and it speaks volumes of his ruthless, calculating and cold-blooded nature.
I agree there is a big difference between killing a small child in front of his mother and aemond killing luke. While what Aemoned did was sketchy it was a war, what he did was an act of war escalating the conflict. It was bad but I’d argue assassinating a toddler is fucked uk on a while other level. I really hope they don’t water this down in the show to take the blame away from Daemon and Rhaenerya
@@WorldOfWesteros I really hope so, too. The whole hiring of cutthroats to kill a child reminds me of Jamie Lannister being asked by Cersei, if I remember right, if he was the one who hired a cutthroat to kill Bran. And Jamie seemed insulted that Cersei would even ask that. As he replied, if he wanted someone dead, he would have done it himself.
@@s_shaleh It was still more of a fair fight compared to Blood & Cheese vs a baby. And Aemond wanted to duel Luke. Also, the greens didn't poison Rhaenyra to increase taxes to unbearable amounts and do a Cercei Lannister to the people of King's Landing by putting the whole city on lockdown and basically using them as human shields/deterrent for when the green dragons come. A lot of the people in King's Landing wanted to get out of the city to escape the war but Rhaenyra didn't allow them. She did that all on her own.
@@yxnglucci4801 it is what it is Luceryes was innocent as well. Aemond only killed him after being mocked by a Baratheon woman that he had no balls. Aemond acted out of anger and got emotional.
@@mikelovettgotit Aemond has had beef with him since his eye was taken. He got his revenge on a rival that has past history with him. Why couldn’t they kill aegon instead of his kid? 🤔
If this happend purely as an evil thing then yeah daemon is evil incarnate. But this happend purely cause of aemond killing luc . So yeah its poetic justice. Aemond Lost an eye - got vhagar ( no better reward) Aemond killed luc and his dragon - only angered the blacks. Daemon killing aegons son- revenge for luc.
Atp y'all are ready to justify anything blacks do. Well then Aemond killing Luke was also a "poetic justice" since these two had history with each other. If you think killing a completly innocent kid who was not even a part of the war in front of his mother=killing an "old enemy" who was old enough to be a part of the war then stabbing an eye=getting killed for it. And no I'm not defending Aemond. Everything those two sides did was fucked up.
@@rtk-ok1yp Luke was literally 13 or 14 when he went to storm's end as an envoy whereas Aemond was a grown ass 20 yo man who had the largest dragon. It wasn't justice or fair at all just like blood n cheese. Luke didn't even go as a knight or any fighter, he hardly even spoke to Aemond in storm's end. Luke who was barely 6 cutting Aemond's eye was not intentional, it was clearly self defense, anyone who read the book knows this. Both sides did terrible things but Aemond definitely instigated this one.
Classic double standards. Y'all didn't keep the same " Eye for an eye, son for a son" energy when Aemond lost his eye. I liked Rhaenyra in the beginning but black fans are really dishonest
@@mauratlantean3002 yeah I didn't keep the " Eye for an eye " Cause A. Aemond himself didn't want revenge he said he lost an eye but gained a dragon himself. Not any dragon but the most powerful. Otto himself said it was worth many more than an eye too B. He only killed luce cause a baratheon girl mocked aemond for losing his balls too. Angering the adult aemond. Most black fans don't like rhaenerya tbh I know I don't. Many dont. But the blacks have many good people among them while the greens do not. So blacks all the way.
As much as I hate killing kids in the Got universe. It’s war and anything goes Jon for example found out the hard truth with the kid from the nights watch stabbing him in heart kids are also use to commit dirty deed probably a bad comparison. Is this one of Daemon shining moments no.. But at the same time did you really think this war would have gone on with no innocent casualties?? Say Aemond let Luke live they still have meet down the line if they want the capital.. Tywin did the same thing when he order the mountain to kill elia martell and her children yet that was more brutal.
I believe that this was 100% an emotional decision by Daemon. There's no way he didn't grow attached to Rhaenyra's sons during their marriage years. Those years of time spent together, there was bound to be a connection formed.
I don't think it's that serious, honestly. All Daemon needed was a reason and Luke's death gave him the reason he needed to push Rhaenyra into action after she was so hesitant. He's definitely using this to his advantage.
Helaena Targaryen is not "innocent". She lives in a world where indeed it matters which side are you one and with with whom your royalties stand. She was a noble woman and she chose to stay by her husband's side and not recognising Rhaenyra's claim. Instantly that decision made her a target.
I don’t think she had much of a real choice of who she could side with. She may have been Aegon II’s Queen but as a woman living in medieval times, you don’t really have a say in what you want. It’s a society run by the men in power. The women are only used as baby machines for arranged marriages with limited choices in their lives. Their parents choose how they lives in the end for them. So I’m sure Helaena had no choice but to be King Aegon’s wife and Queen thanks to her parents. So by GOT standards, she and her children were 100% innocent and didn’t deserve to die.
So who will either 'be' or replace blood and cheese? My guess is that one of the 2 disgruntled Gold cloaks who had been replaced on the city watch for loyalty to daemon will be enlisted by daemon himself and told to use Talya (the queens chambermaid who was part of myserias spy network) to guide him through the tunnels to commit the revenge. Or enlisted by a furious myseria who had her HQ burned down and possibly she suffered burns herself whilst plotting together with daemon assuming she survived The gold cloak known in the books as blood the butcher was fired for beating a prostitute to death, so in the show being fired for his loyalty to daemon also makes sense as a reason he would stay loyal and commit this for him, it may also come out that Talya was always super resentful of the queen and went through with the plan poof possibly after also being fired for being part the spy network
