I really feel bad for Ares. This spotlights how much Zeus and Hera use him as an argument tool rather than treating him like their own son. It makes him understandable too. I’d be a rage filled basket case if my parents used me to get dirt on each other.

I like how the second the parents come out, Ares immediately goes to the brothers he was fighting moments before. The "I don't want to be here." is real.

I like the part where Ares just cautiously moving away from his parents and went next to his siblings

Zeus: "WHAT DID YOU TOLD TO YOUR MOTHER" me: *Divorce flashback* "oh hell"

Why did the creators had to make everyone so goddamn attractive ?!

Anyone with divorced or unstable parents (or both) knows how Ares feels. He's not a coward, just feels like a little boy who doesn't know who to side with

This animated series deserves atleast 6 seasons

Ares is my favorite god and I feel really bad for him. He's in the middle and must follow both parents, I guess he fears Hera more than his dad Zeus.

They really nailed Hermès in this show... Lots of people highlight Hermès speed...those winged sandals ARE amazing...but the show also pointed out his lesser-known duty as a god: the shepherding of souls to the Underworld. His “soul satchel” was a good example of his domain, as well as when he escorts the queen to Elysium. Not only that, but they even included his Cap of Invisibility! Between that, and his speed, it really cemented Hermès role as scout, spy, and Zeus’s best agent in clandestine missions.

Ares is underappreciated. He's more troubled than the other Gods because it his parents that are fighting. Hephaestus couldn't care less but Ares feels so tangled between two. He loves his father yet he also wants justice for his mother. Maybe that's a reason why he's a "coward".

Hermes is an absolute bae

I kinda like how Ares just looks tired when he's not currently fighting. It's like he's sick of the conflict. Awfully sad really.

Why is nobody talking about how hot Hermès is, by far my favorite god

I like the fact that Hera actually wield true power. The other gods seem to fear her as equal as Zeus.

For how badass Hermès was in this show, I really wished we got more of him especially fighting such a shame. I hope we get more of him in the future, the scenes of him running alone wasn’t enough. It was badass but I needed more.

Reminder that Ares only loses to Athena in the mythos because Athens had all the scholars and writers and they were pissed that Sparta beat them in a war so they wrote their Goddess as being better than Sparta's God. Ares and Hades always get the short end of the stick in writings because they're easy targets to use as villains, despite Athen turning poor women into Gorgons and spiders, Zeus raping everything he sees, and the other Gods being just as bad if not worse than Hades and Ares

I would love to see a season of the adventures of Apollo and Hermes.

I love how clearly you can see that the boys were fighting for sport and the parents are about to throw down for real. Even the audience gets nervous when Hera shows up.

I am finally glad they are doing Ares strength justice in other movies he is being depicted as a weak God but now they are covering his actual strength

I love how little they hold back in showing how strong Ares is compared to his siblings.

Good show, actually gave Ares credit as a God of War rather than making him the first weakling to get defeated as so many other forms of media do. Edit: to all the people in the reply section saying that in Greek mythology he’s actually written that way, I’m very well aware. It doesn’t mean I have to like it. I’m of the opinion that a god of war should one of the most powerful Olympians. The actual mythology disagrees with me, but this show doesn’t, so I like it.

Can we please just get a series dedicated to Hermes, Ares, Dionysus, and Apollo?

Good depiction of Ares...they indulge the whole "black-armored, intimidating warrior" thing we've seen in other media...but they also show that he has a mind for tactics (he IS a god of warfare, after all). He waits, observes, and defends...and then strikes. Later on, he cuts loose with a berserker rage. I also enjoy the whole "family-drama" angle...Ares was a natural-born son of Zeus and Hera, right? If anyone would ally themselves with Hera, it would be Ares...a son who is bitter that his father is consistently unfaithful. It also explains the rivalry between Ares and both Apollo & Hermes...and Artemis, I suppose (she doesn't get much screen time). Yet, these bastard siblings inherit their father's sense of justice (even if he lacks good sense)...and they are not malicious, and actually accept Heron when he visits Olympus, when all the other gods scoff at him. Ares has only inherited his mother's anger & bitterness...so their are a lot of emotional strings to this tangled mess.

_I’m going to be honest_ _At first, I did not like Greek Mythology and did not had a crush on anyone there...until Blood Of Zeus came in and decided to make me fell in love with Apollo_ _And of course, he looks like Alucard. This show definitely knows my weakness_

I like how Ares beats both they asses in episode 7 although I feel sorry for Hermes because he looks so kind and gentle. Damnit Ares why you gotta do your brothers like that haha.

For those who got interested in Greek Mythology after watching the show: Ares is the god of war and violence, son of Zeus and Hera. He is in love with Aphrodite, the goddess of beauty and love. I believe that she’s the woman in the audience with purple hair. Hermes is (obviously) known for being very fast, mishevious and clever. He’s the messenger of the gods, and the god of travel, theives, trade and much more. Son of Zeus and Maia. Apollo is the god of the sun, healing, music, archery, poetry and much, much more. He has had both male and female lovers, but most of his lovers have been turned into plants or jumped off cliffs :/ He is the son of Zeus and Leto, and the twin brother of Artemis, the moon goddess. She’s shown next to Aphrodite in the audience :) If you have any questions I’ll gladly try and answer them, since I’m a big mythology nerd. Also, the myths vary alot so it’s hard to say exactly what’s right and wrong :))

That they used these three specific gods(Apollo, Hermes and Ares) for this arena scene made it confusing for a second. Because at first, it seemed like a reference to the myth of the Olympic games where Apollo defeated both Ares and Hermes. It's also strange that they'd have Apollo, the god of archery, who's signature attribute and weapon is the bow, fight using a sword with no arrows in sight.

Its nice to see them actually make Ares good at fighting. The actual stories usually depict him as not weak per say but as being outplayed or outfought a lot.

In a matter of seconds those fierce warriors turned into cute little kids who put their head down and watch their toxic parents have at it.

I know he doesn’t have much of a spot light but I like how ares isn’t just a rage filled beast he’s a actual person who’s just good at his job lol

Probably one of my favorite depictions of Ares. He may not be the most powerful Olympian but he is still a ferocious and brutal fighter, and it does make sense for him to be stronger than Hermes and Apollo as they're only half Olympian while Ares is son of Zeus and Hera

They depicted the Gods really well and personally in the future I wanna see more Hermes and Apollo but I also would like to see more of the other Gods and Goddesses like Artemis and Athena but just in general I am really hoping for a season 2

If you look closely in the background when Apollo is waving you can see some of the gods there. You can see Posidon, Hephestus, Demeter, Dionysus, Aphodite, Athena, Artemis and even Hyacinthus if you pause in the right time.

I’m glad Ares isn’t made to look weak here like so many other forms of media make him out to be but let’s be honest, Apollo would stand much more of a chance against him. Hermes not so much. But Apollo is just as fierce and as much a warrior in the mythology as Ares is, just like Artemis was just as virtuous and great a hunter as Athena was. And not to mention he is also the god of the Sun (sometimes just light) and healing. In the myths Apollo is actually involved in more battles than Ares, too. And WHERE is Apollo’s bow and arrow?!!

They really did an awesome job with the Olympians, I wish the goddesses had more screen time, just to see what they can do.

I'm glad in this show they show who Ares truly is, a warrior and a powerful god.
