Yeah - visually there is a lot to be said

Considering that the games have marking for only two of each aircraft type, you might want to consider some aftermarket decals and give each aircraft individual markings. Xtradecals out of England has a nice variety of Bf-109e and Spitfire markings for the Battle of Britain and other theaters.

Totally agree nice big models works well with kids too - I have a club at the school I work at.

@@ModellingforAdvantage This was our first year having full in-person classes after the Covid shutdown. We have twelve 6th and 7th graders in club and get around eight showing up for two hours after school on Wednesdays. So far we played two big Cruel Seas battles (US vs. Germans and Italians in Med) and Russians vs Germans in Baltic, three games of Star Wars Armada, two games of Cthulhu Wars along with Britannia, History of the World, Ironclads, Dirtside 2, and Mansions of Madness. This kids love the games. Since finals are this week we will be playing one last game the day after finals and the kids chose to play the old "Samurai Swords (aka Shogun). :) BTW: I picked up the deluxe version of Blood Red Skies from Warlord Games and pulled out my Battle of Britain 1940 70th Anniversary RAF and Luftwaffe decals from Xtradecal (Available from Hannants). Next will be picking up camouflage masks for the models. Looks like another order to Hannants in the near future!

New Airfix kits are pretty good, I know these 2 are.

Pretty much all new Airfix kits released after the company was acquired by Hornby are great models and reasonably priced.

Are these quite old kits. I have built both of these airfix kits in the past, The spitfire is okay, the BF109 complete trash and went straight in the bin.

@@Subcomandante73 They are not the old kits. Both are new molds and date back to 2010 for the Spitfire and 2012 for the Bf-109E-4

@@ModellingforAdvantage I like BRS, great game, but this set at this scale and type of model, was a bad idea. I can see what Warlord were trying to do, but seeing that it is on sale cheap it looks like a fail. Warlord should be concentrating on getting decal sets for the models they already make. I might pick this up cheap just for the tokens etc.
