I was so confused about Iosefka's Blood Vial at Mergo's Loft too my first couple playthroughs! My theory is that the REAL Iosefka (being a doctor) may have been the one who delivered the real Mergo before the nightmare was created. Perhaps the slow refinement process was even developed for the Queen as she was a Pthumerian Descendant. That would explain why she was so adamant against opening the door as she knew more than she let on and also how the fake Iosekfa learned about her as she was a member of the Choir. Just a theory of mine :)
The Paleblood is the Doll. When you slain the Moonpresence, which is not nameless btw cuz her name is Flora, of the moon, of the dream, the Hunter's Dream still exists when it suposedly finally come to an end. Instead the Doll will pick you up as her newborn Great One, and you will live in this nightmare together. What's more when you attack the Doll she will bleed WHITE, pale white blood. There you have it. The whole time the Paleblood was manipulating you into doing what you did, she helped you cuz she needed you, she needed a baby and only this way she could have one without looseing one like all Great One do. She also is the one who burned the rune "hunter" into your memory durring the short cinematic at the very begining of the game. You hear her voice, voice of the Great One and that is why you start with hunter's rune like with the dark sign from Dark Souls.
Yeah, I feel for how dumb and bizarre his dialogue is he does a perfectly fine job. He definitely comes off as crazy, so I'd say he's overall successful.
I'd be more concerned if he came across as sane. I mean, he is harboring an otherworldly eldritch nightmare in an attempt to gain powers beyond human comprehension and achieve godlike powers, I would view sanity as an obstacle in the way of such a goal.
I actually restarted BB recently since when I bought it a couple of years ago I ended up not being able to finish it due to work and family. I beat the game but I've not done everything yet. Still gotta beat Orphan of Kos, in NG+ now that I got my rakuyo from those fuckstick sharks in the bottom of the well. Fuck those guys.
I'll give u my top five in DS 3 pvp 1) Lothric Knight Sword 2)Gotthard twinswords/Ringed knight sword 3) Estoc 4)Washingpole/Frayed Blade 5)Gaels Greatsword
I actually love using the Choir Bell on an Arcane build. It heals so much more than a blood vial and it can't be parried (extra safety during PvP and humanoid enemies) It also really helps if you have an NPC, I used it a lot on the Queen Killer while taking on the Watchdog in the cursed dungeon. All the arcane tools are extremely useful on an arcane build, just need to know how to use them.
And this is how playthorugh's should be done. Knowing the game, its mechanics , its lore and giving great commentary. I'll be waiting for the reamaining Souls Games. Keep it up
The tip on the beast roar was huge. Never actually used this item before but being my second playthrough my insight was so high that frenzy happens super fast.
A lot of NPC's say Oedon in Bloodborne, and neither way you said it was correct. Given how they pronounce it, it sounds German, although spelt like Öden instead. Öden translates to "wastes", which is quite fitting lore wise. Not sure why so many RU-vidrs say his name wrong, despite like 5 different NPC's saying it multiple times. Thanks for continuing this series, by the way. I've really enjoyed it.
About the story of the lecture hall : I'd say the experiences of the School of Mensis (or maybe Byrgenwerth) were so fucked up that they managed to throw a whole building in a Nightmare/Dream. Or maybe it could be in place between the Waking World and the Dreamlands, since the Lecture Building is a gate that permits us to enter different Nighmares...
The school of Mensis is a faction in the Healing church. They're similar to the Church choir but Mensis specifically continues the research that was conducted at byrgenwerth. Hence why it looks so similar.
It's three Third Cords because three thirds make One Whole Umbilical Cord to connect oneself to the "Placenta of Ascension" of the Cosmos and be reborn as a Great One.
enjoying the play through very much!!! I hope you will upload again soon. And in regards to the comment you made, yes all the nightmares are connected, you can see the last area of the dlc from the nightmare frontier, if you look down from the first area by the lamp you can see the ship mast' poking up from the clouds
Some Notes about Visceral Attacks from the Wiki Visceral Attack Specifics - Visceral Attacks scale with Blood Level and the Skill stat. - Visceral Attacks deal Thrust damage. - Visceral Attacks scale with a weapon's projected Thrust AR. - This means that weapons specced for Blunt, Arcane, Fire or Bolt, will have considerably weaker Visceral Attacks. - Weapons that deal primarily Blunt damage, but are not specced to do only Blunt damage (Adept Gems) have normal Visceral Attacks.
As someone who doesnt have a PS4 I wanted to say thanks for this playthrough. Sure seems like BB bosses are pushovers compared to DS bosses though. Also as a side note I wanted to mention you have very good english!
Yes i remember him doing the areas without killing the bosses. With it being that long between episode 4 & 5 just wondered whether he'd killed them off camera.
I feel like the best way to show the chalice dungeons is to show the first level and the rest do a montage that includes getting good items, funny moments and bosses with some post commentary if you feel like saying something
I think that Oedon is the Greatest of the Great Ones, since every time you see something talking about Oedon describes he as Formless or in "Only voice", probably due to his superiority he only exist in the form of Sound. Literally a complex being .-. Or, alike the others Great Ones he have a normal form, but he is so superior that even with 99 insights you can't see him :\
You can force Micolash to enter room - when he is close to the room entrance, go through middle path ,instead of following him as he goes upstairs or downstairs.
I don't realy like to watch playtroughs, because I consider it a waste of time. But this is the most enjoyable pt ever, have fun every single minute of it. looking forward to dlc part!
(LONG COMMENT BUT PLEASE READ IT AND SPECULATE WITH ME ABOUT THIS THEORY) Can't those frenzy singers be dolls of dead hunters? If we suppose that every hunter has his own dream island with workshop and his own doll, than maybe the hunter and doll are somewhat connected. Maybe when you become hunter and sign the contract, part of your soul (or whole) goes into dream and merges with the Doll (that would explain how you can't die and you always wake in the dream) You use her to strenghten because you are connected. But my main point is insight. She comes alive when you gain insight --> your soul is more aware of everything --> soul in her is more aware so it is stronger, it is so strong that brings her to live and gives her consciousness. My idea is that the doll becomes corrupted when the hunter either goes crazy from the beast curse or from getting too much insight. The frenzy is stronger with more insight so I would go with the insight theory. And the frenzy signers are only in nightmare, same as dolls. So they have doll's dress BECAUSE they are dolls of hunters that got too much insight and disconnected from the doll. Hope this makes sense. Thx for reading.
I simply love this playtrough, both entertaining and a bit informative. Dont U worry about the english, I think U doin just fine :) If U R motivated I think U should do one on one of the souls games. I would definatly look. Cheers from Sweden
awesome videos man , I think the circle blood gems only come from doll or doll like things and I don't think winter lantern are in dungeons ? the dolls play big rolls I think
Oedon is just the name humans give to the Moon Presence, without knowing what it really is. It's like "Yahweh" or "Allah," a placeholder for something that people believe is really out there. They worship Oedon because the Church has made the harvesting of Great One babies from viable women an institution in Yharnam, and they use the idea of Oedon to explain the phenomenon of rapid impregnation every time the Moon Presence attempts to create an offspring.
Disagree. Paleblood is an obscure term written on a scrap of paper at the beginning of the game and in the Lecture building. It's secret knowledge. Oedon is a name that's present in Yharnam society and has tombs and churches named after it. It's also a complete dead end lorewise until you realize that the Yharnamites needed a god to worship while the Healing Church systematically used them for experimentation and harvested their children (for the Choir orphanage).
BarakalypseNow I think Oeden is there as a sort of purposeful dead end making you want to speculate seeing as the information that is given about him is very interesting. Why would the church disclose the name of the being they were trying to beckon in their secret rituals. Oeden seems like a more passive entity rather than a malicious one like the moon presence.
Jake Mawhinney Because Oedon is not a disclosure at all, it's a mask for what they don't understand. It's just the name the citizens give for the crazy shit that keeps happening to Yharnam. Oedon is described as "formless" just like Judeo-Christian God, perfect cover for the Church to pursue their real plans while the populace is satisfied with blood. Besides, do you know how stupid it would be if there's a completely separate Great One in this game that's worshipped in Yharnam that we don't kill?
PvPSkillz, i think Patches the Spider is a great one look at the Great One's Knowladge. after you read it's disc, it's all things that patches talks about and when you kill him he will drops it.
and what about the cainhurst castle? when will you fight the boss? It feels like you said "we will fight this boss later" too many times. Will you do it in the next episodes or what?
The colour of Iosefka's blood vial, like the blood in it is quite pale. The other vials in the game have red blood in them. Could be a connection to a kin or great ones blood maybe?
This series is a great match but man some of the lore goes over your head... He says she chatty because she's nice she is the only one who really talks to him has nothing to do with odeon the beggar isn't connected to odeon at all unless you heavily and I mean heavily speculate. Yes the healing church girl was pregnant she is hunched over clutching her stomach she was going to birth a great one.. And odeon is a great one they dont have sex to impregnate someone it has nothing to do with quicksilver or blood (since church lady has zero connection to cainhurst and also got pregnant)
They added that you can buy Blood Rocks with Insight, which makes so you can literally get unlimited of them. Unlike Dark Souls where you had to go into ng+ to get them :/
Thank you 4 that video, I learned again something in this game :P U made a little mistake however, the droplet bloodtinge u picked is not what u show, but we can read, it's 21,6% blood attack.
