It's a good weapon but it's not a big damage weapon, It's kinda balanced like a shoto from fighting games. You're meant to cast the fire ball than use that to help you get closer to your target for they are to distracted by the fire ball. Works great against the tougher normal enemies you see on blood borne in the higher levels and still works surprisingly well in pvp. But if your looking for a big ooga boonga damage weapon than the default ludwigs greatsword is still the king of that role. Moonlit variant simply gives you a fire ball if you wish to play with abit more of a mid range play style.
I think you kinda slept on Black Serpent. It's the perfect thing to bait a roll you can punish with CBV. My go to combo for Pyro PvP. I've never liked Black Flame or Great Combustion they kinda defeat the purpose of being a caster. And while it is super satisfying to land it, the slow cast speed, telegraphing, and non existent range of Sacred Flame makes it almost useless. I do like to bust out Seething Chaos every once in a while just because no one ever expects it. Especially good in invasions where you can hide while casting it to cut down on the telegraph.
I feel like the design on the greatsword isnt actually random. Ive been thinking that maybe it is a visual depiction of all the great ones, but theres no proof. I just dont think they would make such a complex design like that if it was mostly random (even if it is modeled after the holy moonlight sword)

i think mornes great hammer is a underated pic in pve it does loads of damage with a pretty good weapon art and in pvp it can one shot with the right opening

The cathedral GS also works well as a hollow infusion and has a chargeable stab r2 for a great extra damage boost. Over 550 AR at 40 luck and can one shot the lizard men at arch dragon peak. Otherwise a lighting lothric GS or astora with chaos/dark are the best damage wise imo

I played a lot of PVP and some of my favourites were lucerne and valorheart. I’m surprised goddhards winswords aren’t on this list as well. They were broken in PVP
