It was Cole who wanted them as allies, it was Aemond who did not listen to him and burned them. It wasn't his doing, neither advice. In the end he wanted to save his men
When season one *started* I really liked his character. Once rejected - Crispy cole really turned into a vile incel, a hypocrite and just a really really unlikable character. The moment he killed Laenors lover with zero repercussions, it really crossed all limits. He is my no.1 hated character in the show along with the feet lover guy
Was he really rejected though, she offered they carry on as he eventually did with the Queen Alicent but he refused, because she didn't leave everything and follow him. I'm glad he got what he deserved.
Cole was someone who originally valued honor highly and was horrified by Rhaenyra for putting him on a dishonorable path by making him have sex with her. Cole compounded that dishonor with his own actions, such as killing Laenor’s lover, but it was Rhaenyra who initially put him on that path. It was ironic that Cole eventually began an affair with Allicent anyways. I guess by that point he figured his honor could never be truly repaired and at least Allicent was somewhat forthright with him.
So his enemies ended him, because in military tactics had the high ground? After the awful way he treated her, after his "dance", with a YOUNG Rhaenyra, and now he's doing Alicent,and STILL thinks he has more morals? GOOD- POETIC JUSTICE METHINKS.
Tbf he didn’t want anything to do with Rhaenyra though. He didn’t want to have sex with her and after she basically forced him to anyways he proposed running away together as a way to restore their honor. Getting rejected and having his dishonor permanently solidified is what put him on his downward spiral.

The potential consequences of turning her down were actually less than the consequences he could have faced for having sex with her. She has no leverage to force him into doing it as having sex with her risked his very life. Turning her down wouldn't have risked his life. Y'all just like making excuses for him

He was transformed into a villain though, he didn’t start that way. Originally he was highly honorable, but Rhaenyra ruined his honor forever in his eyes. At this point he knows his honor is gone forever and he no longer cares.

The show can’t be what actually happened since they changed the ages of multiple characters, specifically Alicent who was a decade older than Rhaneyra n they were never friends. Couldn't have happened to a better guy. Enjoy the great beyond ser, you might have ruined thousands of lives and helped bring a dynasty to its knees but at least he got to get his little revenge on Rhaenyra for telling him no one (1) time. As much as I hate needless changes, but for the TV show, I think it will be much more effective for Cole to be in danger, nearly escape, or try to, but instead of meeting 3 guys from houses the audience doesn't know. Cole should come face 2 face with Bolton banners. The fans will immediately realize, oh yeah, he's totally screwed.

For someone so instrumental to so much of the war, we never get a real origin story. Let's be real, there is something deeply wrong with someone who can hate Rhaenyra for so long over a one night stand and a broken heart. 20+ years of butt hurtedness and hate is unusual, even for psychopaths...
It is not about one night stand or a broken heart. it is about him losing his honor forever. he hates himself so much so in order to carry that burden it's easier to hate someone else

Sad thing is . He is heated but he was no match for Allison she used him a d his love for the princess knowing it would break him . That she wouldn't ever choose him to be with . Amd sue used that . Yes he could of stopped and that part is his own fault . That killed for her . And so blindly a follower that was him but the anger he felt was hurt . Crispy Cole is evidence that beauty comes from the inside out. In season one, I thought he was the best looking character / actor on set. By this latest season, I can’t stand his face. I get viscerally enraged when I see him. And the poor actor, I just can’t even stand to look at him. I hate him MORE than I dislike Geoffrey. A testament to excellent acting skills, even though it doesn’t change the fact that I can’t stand his face. 😂
