Half an hour into watching this and I was moved to tears when the Germans showed you guys much love. The girl holding the Indian flag made me weep happy tears. I’m an Indian that was born in Fiji and migrated to Australia and when I was growing up I hid my ethnicity to avoid being bullied as a child (though things have changed and the racism has diminished a lot here these days). I got into the metal scene hard as soon as I turned 18 and quickly saw I was the only Indian girl at a lot of gigs. I saw a lot of right winged metal heads which made me question if I was welcome. I realise now that I was very much overthinking my race in the metal scene. However watching those moments you guys had in Germany soothed that pain I felt years ago. I felt pride and so much love. It was very touching

I'm so sorry for the discrimination of your childhood but very glad you found a scene you loved in metal. If any childhood feelings pop up, comfort your inner child with the knowledge that judgement from others is purely insecurity projected. Not an excuse for them, but a reminder for you that you are divinely unique, special and infinitely cool.

The German metal scene for the most part is left wing/progressive and inclusive. They're there to have fun. And the best way of having fun is when everybody has fun. Sad if it isn't seen like this everywhere.
@shayneoneill1506
@shayneoneill1506 2 года назад
@@roaxeskhadil Most of the Aussie metal scene isn't right wing. Theres a few assholes though. The problem is more Australians have an attitude of "She'll be right mate", meaning that if you just ignore the idiots, they'll go away. The problem is with racism that isn't true, and perhaps because we havent seen the sort of hell the organized racism caused in Europe and the US, aussies just dont understand how damaging racism can be. Most of us arent racist, the problem is, we seem to be blind to when others are and that can make us blind to the suffering caused by it. We're getting better, attitudes are improving, but its a generational thing, not an overnight thing.

As an over 40 year old, American Metal fan, I was so caught off guard by this band when I heard "Dana Dan" and just had to do a "deep dive." This documentary is AMAZING! I think it's so important for young bands and artists to see the work that was put into gaining the footing, experience, and appreciation needed for "success." The drive this band had, coming from the ground up, and the work they put in to get that performance is inspiring. And it is awesome that they are now getting the attention worldwide that they truly deserve! Thank you, Bloodywood for introducing me to your Heavy Metal take on your culture! Keep up the great work!

I watched this documentary from start to finish in one sitting and I'm sitting here, grinning from EAR-TO-EAR like a madman, as I start watching it from the beginning all over again. @Bloodywood -- I'm 41 years old, Indian and have lived in the West nearly all my life. I've been displaced, cut out off from people of my own age and ethnicity and dealt with racism and the pressure to hide and assimilate everywhere I've been. Sometimes its brought good things like my love for heavy metal, but other times its brought shame, pain and depression about myself as a person and about my skin color and identity. You guys made me feel, for the first time - THE FIRST TIME EVER - that I can be proud of my culture. You are the first thing I've ever seen or heard that's made me feel proud to be Indian. To feel like I have something to contribute like you guys contribute. Thank you.

The loudest idiot racist can cut through a crowd and make you feel tiny and alone , but the rest of that crowd are quietly hating everything that racist idiot says, they are on your side even if they are too shy to stand up to him. Stand proud my man. India has a culture thousands of years old, you can wear that culture with pride.

Aww man. I'm white and western and I haven't been through the same thing as you but I've felt shame, pain and depression for other reasons. I wouldn't wish those feelings on anyone. Race isn't a good way to judge people and fuck those people who do. Bloodywood speak to something universal. Music is universal but also the words they speak are so relevant wherever you are in the world. Besides all differences we are one, in liking Bloodywood at the very least.

Hey bro, I don't know where you live or even what you have had to live with. But you just have to find the good people wherever you reside. Anywhere you go there will always be bad people that want to bring you down to their level but there will also be good people who will respect and love you for who you are. I am from the USA and proud of it and I can honestly say that the folks I have known that are of Indian decent, wether Sikh or Pashtun or whatever (I admittedly do not know much about Indian ethnic and religious groups and don't ask) I have always liked and felt comfortable with almost immediately. Just stay strong and be the best person you can be and that will attract other good people, no matter where you are.

Hey BLOODYWOOD! 🤘I'm one of those guys who doesn't really stick to one genre, and metal isn't usually my go-to (more into acid jazz and prog rock) but DAMN you guys just kick the doors open with your music. What really impresses me is that you sing about subjects that we all have to cope with at some time or another, taboo sh*t that no one is comfortable dealing with, and you just unapologetically throw it out there. That f***in' ROCKS, man. That's the essence of not just metal, not just music, but real ARTISTRY. And then there's the work you all put in, no one's slacking, no one's ego is in the way, you all pull hard and play hard and it shows. Hoping you make it to Dallas TX someday, so this mid-fifties white dude can bring his foster son to see you, and have our brains expanded, our hearts opened up, and our eardrums shattered. Germany. On the day of your Wacken-show my people told me to watch your show in any case. I missed it, because I thought "Bloodywood" would be one of those bands who sing about dragons, mid-age in Europe, swords and so on. So I stayed with the beer. The whole weekend everybody talked about your damn show. When I was home again and saw you for the first time on RU-vid I realized how fuckin' wrong I was. Over the years I have already seen many bands - big bands, bands that I love for many years - but you managed it to totally blow me away after a few seconds. I can't wait to see you live in the (hopefully) nearest future possible. For now I'm waiting for my shirt :-)

Started watching this with the idea of stopping halfway through and continuing tomorrow or so when I have more time. Ended up watching the entire thing in one sitting because I just couldn't stop watching. I really wish you would have made it to Belgium but then again there will be more tours in the future and you will some day visit my country, and that day I will be there. You'll probably be getting hundreds of these messages by now, but if/when you come here - feel free to hit me up and I'll show you a few nice places and good food / beers. Keep up what you're doing, keep up the great sound, and never lose your humble, but ferocious energy. You'll be main stage material one day!

I think it is safe to say that more so than pretty much any other band I can think of, you came from nothing and have become HUGE! And the reason for your success is two fold. Firstly, you have used knowledge, skill, and devotion to gain some AMAZING and die hard fans. Secondly, you NEVER gave up... No matter what was thrown your way you attacked it head on and overcame it, as every obstacle became no more than a stepping stone on your path to greatness. I have pretty much followed you guys from your days of doing covers, to creating your own music which is so different from anything else out there and there is NOTHING else even remotely close. It comprises SO many different elements and yet it just works... seamlessly. Rare is music that has that many different competing elements that works so well together. I truly admire your passion for the project and what you put into it to get where you are now. But most of all, your humbleness and love for your fans is what stands out the most... So many bands lose touch with their fans once they get "big." Not you guys... from what I can tell, you only get closer with your fans the bigger you get. It is now 2022 and has been some time since this was filmed and pretty soon you guys will be on your US leg of your new tour. I do know that there are only a handful of shows happening in the States, and luckily for me there is one close enough for me to get to. I'll see you guys in September in Baltimore, and am REALLY looking forward to it. It's actually the farthest I've ever had to go for any concert... but I AM NOT missing this one. It's been a long time coming and I simply can't wait to see you guys live and up close.

I know every band has a 'rags to riches' documentary. And they're all pretty much the same stereotypical story. But this one seemed a little different. I felt genuinely emotional for Bloodywood. Their fame is SO well deserved. I think they really did face unique challenges, being a metal band from India. I know the metal scene in India is tiny. I think it made them humble. When humble people make it big, it tugs on the heart strings. I know that one day they'll be HUGE. They're already larger than life. I legit thought they already had an album out, and had already played loads of gigs. I was so surprised when I found that Rakshak, which I have pre-ordered, is going to be their FIRST album! They're professional beyond their experience.

Karan, Raoul, and Jayant, you guys are absolute gems, gems that we Indian metalheads treasure over all other musicians. Your music means a lot to me, and to countless other people who desperately look forward to your tracks. Your music holds a very special place in all of our hearts. I hope you guys are able to take that filthy image of metal out of indian minds, who treat metal like something satanic. love you guys, and a small request, never stop making music, because you have countless heads looking up, waiting for something new with every track you release.
