In this short video we are taking an early look at Qipao Tomoe and Qipao Marina. We are looking at their skills, uses, how good they are and if you should pull for them or not. I apologize for any typos that you may find, I've been sick for a couple days so I was not in the best condition as of the recording of this video.

Kinda unfortunate that the new RW student variants are kinda underwhelming or at least mediocre, especially after seeing BA release better students like the Swimsuit Arius members, then absolute monsters like B.Hoshino and Kuroko recently, but at least they're still serviceable, and Tomoe seems to have found a bit of a glow-up from her base version for both performance and design. Hope your recovery is smooth and swift too man.

Yeah, I think they will make for decent fillers or alternatives if you are lacking other students, but for those have most of the students they will find little to no use. Thank you

Q.tomoe can be great in kaiten phase one as she can group them up for our dps to hit them, could also be good in peroro depend on are the small peroro immune to her effect, because as the game rule this is like push back effect similar to marina ex, it doesn't count as cc, but yeah for peroro is best to just Hoshino it

I thought about Kaiten, but I'm not sure if I'd be willing to give up on Himari or NY Fuuka for her. It's complicated

@@sherlockyt for phase 1 i would, you can still use himari + D.aru or D.ako, get dps like D.hina or B.hoshino to hit more enemy will result in better dmg and faster clear

@@hoangtrieu3438 Yeah that could be a possibility, we will get to know when the next total war or great war for Kaiten comes around. I will no test it myself, but others probably will.

@@sherlockyt and marina actually have a funny unique effect in her ex as she can ignore cover, which will probably be useless unless tank type B.Hoshino is too good on pvp, and now think of it she somehow kind of build to counter tank b.hoshino, ex, basic and sub can ignore cover, atk spd to take down hoshino basic, atk and armor type also counter hoshino

@@hoangtrieu3438 The main thing is that they are coming off the back of 2 giga banners being the 3.5 and the summer banners. I feel like the banners after these will be better

To make a good use of Qipao Marina : DoT raid when ? It could be good idea for chill, burn and poison effect students.

@@pall8142 the issue is that DoT effects are very hard to balance, so I think BA is taking the support approach to DoTs. I think they don't want stacking DoTs or buffs to DoTs to prevent them from getting out of control.

These are such random kits that Nexon has to be cooking a new raid. ...But then again, I said same thing about Swimsuit Fubuki's shield ignore. No way that all of this stuff is going to be relevant in a single raid... Right?

Their kits are amalgamation of stuff that we find on other characters. S. Fubuki shield ignore is truly unique, but Tomoe and Marina are well... a bit weird. I think that these are filler characters to bait wallets out and new and strong characters are in the horizon.

@@sherlockyt Well, if new raid needs reposition for enemies, we can always run Juri! ...Wait, I have horrible feeling. It will also require reposition for YOUR characters, and the boss will deal Blue damage. So we can't actually use Track Yuuka as Tank+Reposition, and without Q.Tomoe will have to sacrifice another special slot for this.

If you count Yuri who was in the initial release of the game, I'd say never, but I'm not sure.

@@sherlockyt yeh same thoughts here On another note imo Q.Tomoe might be good in PVP tho it's depended on her EX skill range and how the AI works

@@lobotomy_archive I think it will prioritize moving allies which would make it really bad. If it prioritize moving enemies that would be OP as it would stop them from attacking and debuff them.

I feel like tomoe would have been worth it with mystic effectiveness instead of attack between that and her ex debuff but instead she's just meh

Yeah, her sub feels like a downgrade compared to the effectiveness version and her EX could be interesting but I feel like at best it's going to be super niche

@@sherlockyt if it works in Kaiten it could be amazing but even then the rest of the kit may not make it worth it🤷‍♀

@@cosmiyuki606 I don't think it would be worth because you'd need to trade Himari's accel and attack buff or NY Fuuka discount and crit damage for a clunky reposition and some mediocre buffs =/. However, maybe top tier whales will get her and test it for us :D
