C.C. Local here... THAT's Labante PARK Dam!!!! Cool video. I've put some traps down stream and didn't get much... Never tried the spillway/dam with bait lines... I gota try that.. Suggestion: Lose the tape measurer and use a wooden ruler or marked stick to check the size.. Keep them alive -no ice needed just keep'm wet under wet towel or burlap.. Those are huge. You need a bigger bucket! Try this as well... Purge them alive in fresh tap water mixed with salt for about 5 minutes then dump the water and purge again in water with a few spoons of salt mixed in..... They are cleaner if you get the dirt and stuff out of their gills... cook'm first, then shell them. It's easier than shelling them raw and they are juicer cooked in the shell....Just try it... Great video..
Yessss definitely meaty im going this weekend can't wait i love it that's how i started crabbing with string sooooooo many years ago now i uses cages 💖💖💖 from NJ
Hey I just want to tell you thank you for sharing this video I'm a new subscriber now just thumbing through RU-vid at 4 a.m. in the morning came across your video and I really like everything that you had going on. I really like the part that you pray before you eat can you gaze the glory to Jesus. That says a lot about a gentleman's character I look forward to watching more videos and God bless you brother. Watching from South Carolina
Old video but I still enjoyed it. Came down from Missouri to Galveston for vacation. Bought twine and chicken legs but didnt have time to catch any crabs. Ill give it another go next time Im down in the Gulf area you made this look hella easy.
Hi Chris! New subscriber here, even tho this is an older video I was hoping to get some inside on good spots to go crabbing in CC or SPID. I live in SA and make it a point to go to the coast a couple times a month, this year I want to get into crabbing, have any spots you’d recommend for a beginner?
Yeah for sure not only does that spot have a lot of crabs they are shrimp they’re a lot of bait fish bluegill bass alligator gar black drum redfish all kinds of life in there so it’s basically brackish water But that doesn’t get a lot of attention
Good stuff man just subbed let me know if you make it up to Houston some time and I can take you out and we can chase some reds flounder or some catfish in lake Houston
nice crab vid! you have the wrong technique though. the crab keeps running away because you net is facing away from you. If you come from behind the crab with the net facing toward you, they won't have anywhere to run! I just posted a crab vid myself from Corpus Christi, check it out if you have the time.
Hi Chris. Just visiting your channel for the first time. Nice crabbing for sure. Just was wondering if you maybe did a clean up of the nets and fishing line over the rocks since the water was so low? We try to clean up areas when we can. That place looks like it was loaded with crabs. Good thing about small ones they will grow up. Do you ever use crab traps? Just subscribed and looking foward to checking out the rest of your channel. Were those crabs dead when you put them in the sink or just cause in ice? Going to try that recipe when I get some crabs next time..... Tight lines......
Thanks for sharing. Its amazing how easy it is to crab from the shore. I'm going to get me a net, maybe one with a wire frame. That frame is huge on that net. #KapKen
Truly enjoyed the video. It brought back childhood memories of crabbing and fishing the Texas coast. I’m just up the road from Corpus. Thinking of twisting off and going crabbing now that it’s out of the triple digits.
Chris, I just came across your videos. Great family-friendly content, I'm now a subscriber. Hey, I'm coming down to Port A with the family, next week. By chance, would you consider a being a guide for us? Something hands on for the kids, like maybe flounder gigging or catching something fun? We've been going down there for years, but I'm certain you know some honey holes. If interested, let me know and we can talk your $$$. Either way, we'll keep watching the videos!
That makes me so happy that you were watching the channel and now a subscriber I really appreciate it and I would really love to accompany you and your family but I don’t know if you know I’m not from Corpus Christi I live in Corpus Christi and I’ve lived here for two years now going back home to San Antonio to see my family won’t be here this weekend but that’s something I’ll definitely keep in mind.
Thanks for the reply. Sorry, I didn't understand... Are you saying that you live in SA now? If you won't be in the Corpus area next we, no worries & just do everything that I learned on your crabbing video 🤠
Sorry I know I didn’t mean to not make sense I live in Corpus Christi but I’m planning to visit Home in San Antonio And yes if you do whatever you saw that video I promise you you’ll catch a good amount of crap they taste so great down here
You should have turned your pot on and boiled your water and seasoned your water first that way your season will be real good and when you bring your crabs out there have a good flavor on them and for one thing you supposed to put the whole crab in there not break them apart but you know everybody does their own thing I'm just saying I'm from the south
I will brother I haven’t uploaded in a month been busy with the holidays and stuff but a video is coming really soon thank you for your support I really appreciate it
